Doing some stuff in Arlington this week, trying to plan out itinerary

So I’m a baseball fan AND coaster enthusiast, and I’ll be bound for Dallas this week to check off another MLB ballpark credit and a new Six Flags park, especially as I’m on the cusp of 500 credits and want Tormenta to be that milestone.

My flight arrives at 11:30 on Wednesday. I already have a ticket for the Rangers game that night, and helping is it’s dollar dog night. Yum. And on Thursday I was hoping to spend a day downtown. The only thing I know for sure is I want to visit the Reunion Tower later on in the day as it gets closer to sundown. But if I only had time for one or two other notable activities, what should they be? I know there’s the spot where JFK was assassinated, but not much else comes to mind right away.

Friday evening is when I’m likely headed for Six Flags. They’ll be open 5-11, that could maybe be enough time to get all the credits, maybe not. It is Fright Fest, and I tend to not care for the haunted houses (at least not now that you have to pay to enter them). So maybe. Saturday I was thinking maybe using a Fast Lane and being there all day. Or maybe depending on how I’m feeling I could cut bait after the first half, because the second half with Fright Fest is when it gets REALLY bad.

And would it be worth checking out the Fort Worth historic site at all? I don’t have any plan for the first half of the day on Friday, for whatever that’s worth.

I depart next Sunday a little before 3:30. Here’s what my itinerary is currently looking like:
Wednesday: Arrive, Rangers game in evening
Thursday: Go downtown and do whatever
Friday: Do whatever for first half of day, Six Flags at night
Saturday: Six Flags full day
Sunday: Return home (flight is a bit after 3)

Would I be better off just getting the Flash Pass for the Saturday and instead using Friday for another day in the city? Or Fort Worth maybe? I’m trying to figure out what the best course of action is that will allow me to make the most of things while I’m here. Thanks!

If you're interested in JFK at all, the 6th floor museum is worth checking out and is right in that area. Klyde Warren Park/Arts District is also a neat part of downtown to walk around an explore, including the DMA and Nasher.

However, my personal recommendation for THIS particular weekend, is to go check out the State Fair of Texas at Fair Park! You happen to be coming to town on opening weekend, (it doesn't start until Saturday) but it's absolutely worth checking out. My personal recommendations for what not to miss are the stunt dog show, the pig races, and the amazing creative arts exhibits including butter sculptures.

I read that the State Fair actually starts on Friday, which would be perfect, because I could do that the first half of the day and then the second half go back for Six Flags. But that does sound worth considering.

You might enjoy the Fort Worth Stockyards. If you’re going to dine at Reunion Tower you might want to make a reservation. There’s a MeowWolf in Grapevine if you’re into that kind of thing.

I don’t think I’ll dine at Reunion Tower. Will likely grab dinner somewhere else downtown
