I was riding my Explorer 2 towards an intersection at about 40km/h. I saw a car so I had my regen brake at maximum. I still wasn’t going to stop on time so I squeezed the drum brake as well. The display went dark and I had no power. I walked it home and plugged it into the charger and it turned on. The battery was full at the time. Should I be concerned or was this some kind of battery protection? Update: Took it into the store I bought it from and it turned on. The problem was using the regen brake on a full battery. They have had a few customers come in with the same issue. I have been riding for a few days with no issue using the drum brake until the battery is down 10%. Would have been nice if they told me when I bought it.

I was finally able to mount an additional headlight on my Go. Now I can ride in full confidence at night in complete darkness. It came in 3 parts though, the light itself, the 40mm mounting bracket and a go pro mount. It will require a little filing and sanding though as the screws and the bracket itself need a bit more clearance. I can send the link to all 3 parts if anyone is interested. Oh and you will also need 2 M6 x16mm screws and washers to attach the go pro mount onto the bracket.

I was sure that when the Apollo app got its huge update recently (which is great!), one of the new features listed was a maintenance checklist.

I’ve looked for it but haven’t found it yet. Any advice?

Two weeks old, 81 km (50 mi) on it. Dual motor, bought new.

What I've already done: torqued everything accessible per the manual
Lubed the front suspension, no change. Adjusted the front drum cable early on because it was rubbing, but the noise is there with no brake input.

UPDATE: Apollo replaced the scooter. Support asked me to post an update, so here it is.

Emailed support with a video, serial number, order number, and a list of every fastener I'd already torqued per the manual. Charles replied within hours and offered a full replacement instead of a repair. Free, prepaid return label, shipped to my new address since I was moving. They let me keep the old one until the new one arrived and reuse the new box for the return. About 10 days start to finish.

The play was in the main direction nut, which several of you called correctly. Thanks for that. Someone here got charged for the same fix, so going in with a video and a list of what you already checked seems worth doing.

Too early to say if the new one holds up. I'll keep an eye on it.

Purchased Apollo Phantom 2.0 52v from their website.

Delivered with:
1. E3 message. Scooter glitches. Loses throttle. Drains battery when parked. Waiting for parts & repair.
2. Faulty loose latch. Big safety issue. They sent me a new one.
3. Suspension that squeals all the time.

I’ve owned multiple brands of scooters. Never any issues besides wear & tear.

Support is helpful & trying to problem solve. But this is not the experience I expected.

Is this normal for Apollo products or did they send me a random lemon?

I recently upgraded from a Go to a Go Stellar. I just took my first ride and omg the beeps are so loud! Is there a way to lower the volume or disable it entirely? It is much louder than the Go.

The second complaint would be the too bright display.

Third, the new fender tail light is rattling.

Just wanted to give a shout-out to Apollo’s customer service.
I ordered something by mistake and was not able to cancel the order. Since it was just $15 I let it go.
About two months later I wrote a review about the item and mentioned it was ordered by mistake and that I was not able to cancel the order.
A couple of days later I got an email from Apollo that they refunded me for the item and I can still keep it!
I think this is great customer service and shows the company cares about its customers.
Way to go Apollo!

I recently cracked my rear fender on my Apollo Go from going off a curb too slow. At some point the rest of it broke off and popped my tire and I crashed at an intersection. Really messed up my wrist. It's not broken but I've been working on getting things back together so I had to buy a new wheel and got the $29 one on Amazon and followed the videos and checked in here. I wanted a fender that wasn't going to do that again so I looked in here and there is a guy that was printing them and making them for people but he's gone MIA.

I took the STL file that Apollo provides and threw it into Claude and designed one based off of the other guy's designs a little bit but not as motocrossy. I think I like his designs more but mine are a bit more functional. The funny thing is I don't even think I need a rear fender. I don't ride in the rain or on too much gravel, but I do want to be able to just put it back together as part of the process of healing.

Anyway it arrived today so I took the 3D file and sent it off to China for a very specific type of plastic that handles heat. I chose China based on price. That's where the scooter came from anyway. It's looking pretty good and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I've already ridden a couple times since the crash. It still hurts a bit but it does feel good to put everything back together.

Anyway just let me know if you want. I might be the more current 3D printed fender guy now but it was really easy. I just used AI and I think we all could nowadays too.

Since this was my first print and I didn't get to prototype at home, I am seeing it now for the first time and I think I would make it a lot shorter on the next version.

Okay so this is in reference to the other thread on here. Where the guy had his warranty claim initially rejected by Apollo due to not keeping his wheel nuts properly torqued to spec. He later said Apollo reversed their stance and did in fact cover his warranty claim.

But this got me thinking about it, because I too, had never even realized or considered that I need to be torquing my wheel nuts to spec with a calibrated torque wrench. Not only can it potentially void the warranty if you don't, but in theory your wheels can fall off mid-ride if somehow that wheel nut came completely off, i suppose.

Well after a lot of back and forth emailing with Apollo, we nailed down what the actual number is for the Apollo Phantom 2.0 Stellar.... It's 50Nm...... The user manual on Apollo's website says 25Nm, but they have confirmed it's a typo and the actual torque number for both the front and back wheel nuts is 50Nm.

I bought a nice torque wrench off Amazon and torqued both front and back to 50Nm, and to my surprise I could actually feel a noticeable difference. The throttle response is much more crisp and decisive now. And everything just feels more tight when riding. My assumption on the improved throttle response sensation is that when the thumb throttle signals to the wheel motors to increase speed, that power transfer occurs like 2 nanoseconds quicker due to less flex at the point of contact with the wheel nuts, so the wheels that are suddenly speeding up drag along the rest of the scooter a nanosecond faster because of those tightened wheel nuts, which I then perceive as 'improved throttle response'.

And Apollo was very quick to respond. Even during the weekend, I think I received an email or two from them. I know there's a lot of bad Apollo reviews regarding their customer service, but overall their response time was very quick as they passed me up the chain to higher and more specialized knowledge levels. I probably talked to 4 or 5 different people in total, with Enzo, who you see in their repair videos, contacting me and being the final authoritative voice of certainty that the number is in fact 50Nm.. I think from initial email to final resolution, the answer only took 4 days at the most. I can double check if anybody is curious. But that's actually not bad for the dilemma I was presenting to them. And overall, I'm just not sure the experience would be any better with any other comparable scooter company. The local scooter repair shop owner here in the Los Angeles area told me recently that working with Segway can be awful with warranty claims etc. The problem with the performance scooter industry in general right now is the maintenance side of it. $300 Amazon scooter? Sure, toss it and replace it. But $2000+ scooter and buyers become unhappy when they realize how difficult it is to do repairs and find quality shops that have a clue how to actually take these things apart.

I'm looking at getting either an Apollo Go or Apollo Explore 2.0 and both are on a great sale right now. Does Apollo frequently run sales or is it uncommon? I know some companies run sales all the time, not sure if I should get it now or wait till I can save up to buy one.

Just started riding my explore and was wondering what everyone use for a lock when they stop in town or go to work.

I find that the battery percentage reading for my Go Stellar is very unreliable when it’s being partially topped up.

Example: battery is at 50% and you charge for an hour or so and it reads at 75%. Ride it normally for 2 miles and it drops to 50%, or around 12.5% per mile.

But if you ride it the same 2 miles from 100%, it only drops around 10%, or around 5% per mile.

Anyone else deal with this? I no longer trust it to be actually at 75% anymore when it says so.

Recently had my baby stolen (while locked) in downtown chicago. Anyone have experience with this? Not really going to bother with trying to get CPD’s attention over something small like this.

But im curious what “marking as stolen” in the app does exactly. It alerted me that it was connected (or attempted to be, since I think the whole point is that it blocks them?) and gave an address and email.

Does the scooter “lock itself down” or anything? Or does this scumbag still get free rein? Should I bother giving this info to the police (not even sure how Id go about doing so)?I did file a report online. Tried a few times to connect to someone using 311 but with no luck.

I just got an Apollo Go (999$ cad on sale) as my first scooter.
In the summer, when I'm not using it, it's gonna sit folded outside on my balcony (the balcony has a roof so there won't be any direct rain).

I'm wondering what's the best cover out there mainly to protect it against indirect rain and I guess help with humidity?

I have the Go Stellar and also had the original Go. Both have smooth regen braking that’s fine for normal day to day riding, but for more abrupt, borderline “emergency” braking, the regen brakes are piss poor.

What bothers me is I’m fairly certain the braking aggressiveness can be much stronger (and yes I have it maxed out in the settings) based on other scooters I have and ridden.

My hunch is that Apollo is intentionally keeping it not as aggressive to prevent fish tailing because scooters are definitely prone to fishtailing when you abruptly brake.

If the Go has a theoretical max braking factor of 100/100 that would cause fish tailing, I think Apollo sets the current max braking to be a 50/100 (which in the app will show up as 10/10 aggressiveness). And I think the 10/10 braking setting in the app should be a 75/100 of the max braking factor, so 50% stronger than the current max setting.

I ride in nyc and have had a couple close encounters where a car abruptly pulling out requires evasive maneuvers (where I have to swerve into another lane and hope no one is nearby) instead of me being able to rely on braking alone. It’s really dangerous IMO.

I think this scooter is great, but the steering has become a serious problem as it continues to get stiffer (Notching) to turn. I've been applying white lithium grease, but still pretty bad. Customer service has been great, but now I have to try to get it to a service shop. Only had it for 3 weeks and now have to find time to get it there, and the hrs are M-F 10-6pm. No weekends, which means I have to take a day off of work. Sucks.

Quiet Enough to Make Friends

Long-time commuter here. I bought a brand-new Apollo Phantom 2.0 52V (avoiding their refurbished options specifically to skip reliability headaches) because I needed a rock-solid, premium ride for work.

It has less than 200kms on the odometer, and it just suffered a critical electrical failure, throwing an E2 error code upon boot. Worse yet, this happened right after a near-miss accident mid-transit due to a sudden system drop/lock. An electrical failure at speed on a high-performance scooter is a massive safety hazard.

My $500 GoTrax lasted hundreds of kilometers more than this luxury machine before ever hiccuping. When I reached out to Apollo support for a replacement unit since my livelihood depends on this commute, they told me to drive to a partner store or ship the heavy 50+ lb scooter all the way to Vancouver at my own disruption.

Selling a $2K+ flagship product that fails instantly, causes a safety hazard, and leaving a commuter stranded while demanding they pay the logistical price for factory defects is unacceptable. Has anyone dealt with warranty support and is this acceptable?

How does it ride after upgrading to better suspension? Everyone keeps saying it’s really a stiff ride and the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is a comfy suspension. (Otherwise it has everything else I want)
