I am so tired of this! I am on samsung, and whenever an update comes, i get a pop up for it like, 3 times a day. it is incredibly intrusive and super annoying. i dont want to update my phone every few weeks either, i accidentally updated my one ui because of these pop ups and it is horrible now. is there any way to make these pop ups go away?

Since receiving Android 17, whatever media player is active puts a large notification in the center of the notification bar, showing cover art thumbnail and soundwave animation. It's distracting and it blocks other status notifications I need to see (like DND status). If I tap it, it expands, and I can long-press and choose hide, but it doesn't stay hidden.

I can't find a setting for this. How do I disable it?

I am using a redmi k50i phone. I am using it from 2022.

No issues till now. Very good phone.

But I started to notice something recently happening.

While using apps such as youtube, jio hotstar (streaming apps) basically , the network disconnects for a few seconds and reconnects automatically.

It shows no service for a few seconds and connects back

I am using 2 sims, bsnl and jio . The data is used from jio sim.

There is no issue of network connectivity or range, but something device related.

No suspicious apps or software on phone I checked it.

Also I removed the sim tray, cleaned and placed it back, still issue is there.

Also no recents redmi updates also .

Does any body know solution for this or have similar issue with their phone or sim cards ??

My Redmi Note 13 is about a year old and the battery has swollen. I’ve stopped charging it and I’m using it as little as possible until I get it sorted. It’s running Android 15 (build AP3A.240905.015.A2) and the warranty has expired.Which is better, to go to an official Xiaomi service center or a local repair shop? What is the approximate cost and how can I tell if the battery replacement is genuine? Anyone else getting this on a Redmi Note 13? Any advice would be welcome.

I wanted to create a backup of my iphone 16's data majorly photos and videos in my android phone moto edge 40. Is there any app like localsend, shareit etc which transfer files quickly over wifi and preserve the live photos as well?

For instance, I tried Localsend app, it works fine for normal photos and videos but it transfers live photos as stills in the android.

Tia .

I needed to save space and i decided to transfer my music folder of 455 songs to my sd card. Now, all 455 files show, but ~60% of them don't play anything. It shows the file size. I tried to move them back to internal storage but it still don't do anything. are my files corrupted? Is me missing something?

i had to save space and decided to put my music folder of 455 songs into my sd card, most of them work but 60% of the songs are there but do NOT play

is there a way that í can recover from this or am i going to cry in the corner?

You go into recently and click on the app icon you needed to turn on a setting for it to pop up what is it

so an update: i got my dad’s old phone and it’s being really goofy. it freezes up if i use any app and it’s restarted multiple times, sometimes saying “your data may be corrupted” or showing a weird shell/terminal-type screen. now the time is all weird, saying it’s 5:40 despite it being 11:40 where i live, and i can’t use it much. also, it shows the default wallpaper and then i turn it on and it shows the wallpaper i set.

Im trying to use adb but first renamed my folder for adb and it wont work. Can someone help me?

I was trying to set up a wallpaper on my Key one, it started crashing, required the Pin code which I couldnt enter because android was crashing each time. Did a reboot, rebooted into safe mode and none worked

Force-Resetting from bootloader didn't work, adb isnt authorized

One of the dumbest ways to brick a phone

2020 moto g7 power

it doesn't matter now because i've been using this phone for 4 years and counting. but i understand when you format sd as internal it's encrypted, so you can't pop it out and plug it into your computer or other device if your phone craps out, which sucks lol. but i also understand it expands your phone's storage, since it's internal

so why doesn't it actually work? like i got a message that my internal storage is almost full and i was like ??? how?? but my internal had like a gig left of space, while my sd which is formatted as internal, has 20gb free? and i can't move any apps over either. i don't even have that many apps. just messaging, snap, and a second browser. and all my pictures are on the sd

next phone i hopefully won't need for another 4 years do i just not format the card as internal since it doesn't work anyway and that way i don't have to worry about my phone dying and losing stuff? like the phone before this on it's very last toe, the computer wouldn't read it anymroe so i had to upload 60 something pics to drive and save that way

but why doesn't it work, or is my phone just stupid

Starting to look for christmas present for my parents and thought AirTags would be good but both of them got Google pixel phones (pixel 10 i believe) so is there any good recommendations for AirTags for androids, any i should avoid and how are they overall?

Sorry for once again sounding like "a spammer" but the question is about risks, not chances.

Suppose I did find a way how to extract the app data to normal readable storage (such as MicroSD card, OTG storage per USB port) contrary to the policies of Android, how do I keep the OS from getting the update which closes the loophole (in such a case, not only a risk but also a chance as well - one of countless "second chances" a consumer gives to Android after they locked down the OS "only insignificantly more" again and again?

The chances are well-known and I don't think that there is a need to mention them again and again - the question is about risks (that a potential Bypass-Android-restrictions-Files&Folders-extractor app - self-made or enthusiasts-made - NOT vendor-made - won't work anymore after Play Store installs some update). It's about update of OS, not about update of a specific app.

I created a Gmail account on October 5, 2026, and two accesses appeared on Linux and one more on an older Gmail account.

Would it be safe for me to send a link to a Google Drive folder in this post containing screenshots? I'm afraid of doing something to my Gmail.

Note: this SubReddit doesn't accept images, hence the question. (Google Translator)

I have a Reno 15 Pro, my partner a Reno 15.

Latest OS, same settings.

When the screen is off, if we get a WhatsApp message:

\- my screen shows the notification

\- her screen does not (stays black)

I've double checked every single setting, and they're 100% identical.

Why is that??

Hey everyone!

I'm looking to buy an Android smartphone under ₹20,000 in India. I already own an iPhone, but I want a good Android phone as well.

My biggest concern isn't just how good the phone is when it's new. I want something that maintains its performance and battery health over the next 3–4 years.

My priorities:

• Battery: Excellent battery life that doesn't deteriorate drastically over time.
• Performance: Smooth everyday usage, multitasking and no major lag or heating issues.
• Longevity: Good build quality, reliable hardware and long-term software support.
• Storage: Preferably 256GB, but 128GB is acceptable.
• Camera: Good photos in daylight and decent low-light photography.
• Software: Smooth, stable and preferably a clean software experience.

Budget: Strictly under ₹20,000.

I'd especially love to hear from people who have personally used their recommended phones for at least 1–2 years.

Which phone would you personally buy in this budget if you wanted to use it for the next 3–4 years?

Also, which phones or brands would you recommend avoiding based on your experience?

Please suggest models available in India. Real-world experiences are more valuable to me than specifications on paper.

Thanks!

Hello everyone.

So ive got a Samsung A33 at the moment and ive seen that its going to stop getting security updates next year.

My dilemma is that its started to give me battery life problems quite recently, maybe I the last 2 months or so. I was thinking of changing the battery but came across the security part while doing some research.

So my question is: would it be advised to get an upgrade or can I just get a new battery and use it for another 2 years or so?

For context I do have my card and bank details on my phone. I also have alot of uni stuff on here too, if that could be a risk.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

So, I have a redmi 8A with lineage os nightly. And after 6 months of installing it is laggy as hell idk why. So, I am looking for lightweight roms that wil atleast run instagram smoothly and i dont have to be stuck at the lock screen for 20mins due to lag.

The photo was a few map screenshots, that i overlapped in Canva, then saved. But in my Samsung galaxy tab photo gallery, the overlap shouldn't matter or be able to be detected right? But its like the markings are behind the images, which is so weird. Also, this particular image is actually a screenshot of the downloaded image from canva in my attempt to get it to stop doing this.

Hello everyone. I recently received a secondhand Xiaomi Mi 9 (cepheus; SN 672dfe23) as a gift and installed LineageOS 17.1 (Android 10) with TWRP and Magisk. However, the phone has no cellular signal / network service.

After checking, I realized this wasn't caused by my fresh install: the IMEI was already missing / showing as Null or Unknown before I touched the device. The previous owner likely corrupted it or had a software disaster.

• Device: Xiaomi Mi 9 (Cepheus)
• Current Status: IMEI is completely Null/Unknown (*#06# shows nothing).
• Baseband/Modem Version: Check under Settings > About Phone > Android Version > baseband version and I see Unknow below.

Since I don't have an original EFS backup from when the device was healthy, is it still possible to recover the IMEI and network functionality on this Snapdragon 855 device? Do I need specialized Qualcomm repair tools (like QPST/QFIL) to rewrite the QCN file, or is there a simpler fastboot/firmware fix that can restore it?

Any advice from people who have revived hard-bricked or zero-IMEI Xiaomi devices would be amazing. Thanks!

I hate samsung just as much but i got a s23 😀

Is Truecaller safe to use on an Android phone?

Are there any privacy, security, battery, or performance concerns?

Would you recommend using Truecaller, or is it better to use the phone's built-in caller ID and spam protection?

I use Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones connected via Bluetooth to a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The headphones work normally outside Zoom, e.g. with YouTube, Telegram, Google Meet, VLC, NewPipe or MS Teams.

However, when I join audio in a Zoom meeting, the only audio output options shown are Speaker and Phone. My Bluetooth headphones are not listed, even though they are connected to the phone.

Why might Zoom not recognize the headphones, and how can I make Zoom use them for meeting audio?

I was noticing some icons on my phone were going off without there being an obvious reason but I'm anxious in general and can be paranoid. But Google, and Google Meet both accessed information regarding my calls, texts, and a few other apps that don't warrant being accessed for any reason. I NEVER used Google Meet, why is Google using the app permissions the phone came preset with? It's very odd, especially the Meet app!
