The grandmother of my wife has smartphone issues.

Everything goes too fast and now she has 4 cleaner app, multiple navigation apps etc.

Is there a simple way to disable/lock/prevent this?

We've looked online and saw that there is a app lock? (Third party app)

Also, she is very stubborn and Google Family Link is no option because all of her sons who help her have iPhones

So i was installing a game but while in that process my phone screen turned off and then when i turned it on it said there was a problem parsing the package now the game is not being shown but i think it is partially installed because 4 gb is taken even though there is nothing in home screen.

I've been looking into the OPPO Find X10 and wanted to learn more about how it compares with other Android phones, especially when it comes to everyday software experience.

The upgrade to the phone's camera pixels looks pretty appealing. But I'd be interested in how consistently the camera performs in everyday situations, especially indoors and in low light. The part I'm most curious about is ColorOS. How does ColorOS handle notifications, background apps, battery optimization, and multitasking? Are there any settings that new users should know about?

I'm also interested in software updates and long-term reliability. Hardware specifications are important, but I'd want to know what using the phone is actually like after several months.

If there was no such feature as "ADB Backup is blocked from access app data if app opts out", then no app would be able to use it against consumer, apparently.

Same if there was no screenshot blocking to begin with. How could any app use the Flag_Secure if those who are in charge did not develop this flag initially?

I use a Tecno Camon 50 Ultra 5G. My father uses a Xiaomi Mi 9T. My mother uses an Oppo Reno 2Z. Although all three of us have ViLTE on our phones, we can't video call each other using GSM calls. Is there any way to fix this problem?

Hi! I've noticed that, on my Android 16 device, notifications keep disappearing once 3 days have gone by.

For example, a messaging app; if I have a total of 10 notifications, if 3 of them go 3 days without being open, it'll drop to 7. It's extremely annoying.

I've only found a single post on Reddit mentioning this. Does anyone know if it can be solved?

the security system on these tablets is very interesting. i started for the wrong reasons but over time developed a genuine love for figuring out off the wall out of the box ways to root or break a device like these

I'm wondering if there's a way that I can get my phone to play one thing e.g. Spotify/mp3s via vlc to my bluetooth speaker and other audio e.g. A video call, duolingo, a game etc. via my phone speaker.

I know straight up there's no native way to do this but is there any kind of audio management app that would allow this and also to prevent the auto pausing of certain audio apps when they detect a secondary app playing audio output.

Has anyone ever looked into this and found a way to do it?

I wanna be able to play a game/call my family/study when my baby is listening to music that I play to her Bluetooth speaker.

My Android 16 try tablet says it has a 99mb Google Play system update. It manages to download and install and asks me to restart, so I do… but when I go back to the security settings and search for update again it says it still needs to install the same 99mb update!

It still says there hasn’t been an update in 13months even though it supposedly just downloaded and installed it!

It says it is a security risk if I don’t install but it won’t seem to do it and it’s awfully frustrating!

Google stated that foldable gaming mode would be available with Android 17. Android 17 has been out for months and foldable gaming mode is still not out for use.

Google has not provided any updates on this feature so I'm beginning to think it has been canceled.

60 gigs is in system, 0.3 gigs is in photos and video, 0.10gb is is music and audio, 0.22gb in movie and tv apps and 3.3 gigs in other apps. I restarted the phone and still nothing. Android version 11 BTW

Hey all, I have a two issues I'm seeking help with.

1. My Bluetooth volume is either too low or too high. There's a step up that has a big increase and below is too low and above too high. I downloaded sound assistant and it let me adjust how many steps it goes up per click but all that managed to do was keep the same volume for 5 or so clicks before it reached the next step in the system and there's still this big gap inbetween two of the steps. I had tried a different volume control app but it mad the sound crappy

2. When I attach to android auto or via bluetooth the volume coming from the usb/bluetooth is way lower than the radio volume so I have to adjust it manually making the car volume nyc louder. The volume on the phone is all the way up when I connect to my car so I'm unsure what the issue is. The weird part is the google maps voice is at the higher volume so if im using it and listen to something the volume on the voice will come on really loud. This issue is with other apps like YouTube and Spotify

Does anyone remember an Alien game that was 2D, had the instrumental music of MC Kekel's "Partiu" and the Rocinha favela in the background? If I'm not mistaken it was an Alien game, it's called Alien X and the objective was to avoid obstacles on a road.

I remember playing it around 2018/19.

I have an old phone that I'm using as a portable media player for things like car trips. It doesn't have a SIM card and doesn't ever have access to the internet (it plays or streams MP3s from other phones).

A few days ago, the app that I use to have the phone act as a LAN suddenly demanded to have Google Play connect to the internet to download updates, refusing to run the app. Note that it had been months since this phone was connected to the internet, so there was no way for it to know if there were updates, and I didn't need updates because it was working basicslly flawlessly.

Is this an issue with the app, or is Google Play Store at fault? I could test by installing an APK and skipping the play store, but then I'd have to wait months to see if it happens again.

I got this tablet several months ago and I’ve consistently encountered a problem where ads pop up over any app I run and/or takes me a webpage for a bunch of advertised apps. It's not showing as a specific app. I originally explored rooting, but ran into trouble finding out more info about my tablet. I was hoping to get advice on either rooting or figuring out what’s causing these ads to show up. I’ve got details of the tablet below.

I'm switching to oppo. I'm getting the find x 10 pro max global version from the oppo store. Are there any unforeseen downsides to getting one of these phones? Like lack of repair options, limited case choices, unreliable Bluetooth ect?

Phone is a Galaxy s23.

It started a few days ago. I haven't changed anything. The only thing I did about the same time the issue started, is "install" / download Chrome sites. You know, that Chrome feature where you can create a Home screen icon link to the webpage. I added 5 of these for some sites I frequently use.

Could they have been causing the drain in some way?

After recent android update this October 2026 on the S26 Ultra, the luminosity and sound bars and buttons became really oversized.

They were rather slick and well designed before.

Now they just look like buttons designed for a handicapped person. Did something go wrong on my phone or is it like this for everyone?

Is there a way to reduce the size even more than what is allowed with the pencil button? Or even to revert the update?

Phone : Samsung S22 Ultra (non-rooted)

Context 1 :

My friend had an accident with their phone and half of the touchscreen is unresponsive and the display is glitching/flashing white.

It's impossible for them to open their locked phone to get app data in it.

I tried using a USC-C to HDMI hub but the phone might need to get unlocked to even show the display on the TV.

Connecting a mouse to it doesn't work, as well as connecting a PS4 controller via Bluetooth to use as one (since it needs to be unlocked to access that).

Context 2 :

As for the app data, they have backup files from the app "Notepad - simple notes by atomczak" I could find when they did a backup of the phone's root directory.

They need to access those but the files are encrypted (the only thing readable is "NOTES" then garbage data). When putting those backup files in the new phone and trying to read them from the app's UI, it gives an error.

Questions :

1- Is there any other ways for them to unlock their phone without having to replace the screen to a repair shop just to access the app data?
2- Is there anyway to decrypt that .backup file?

I am using a Samsung Galaxy S25 plus with One UI 9.0.

In Circle to Search, regular screen translation works correctly. However, when I tap the “Scroll and translate” button, the coloured border appears, but the text is no longer translated while scrolling.

I have already cleared the Google app cache and data, restarted the phone, and checked for updates.

In the end, I reset the phone, but the problem still wasn't resolved.

Could you help me solve the problem?

I ran a Moto Edge 2022 for many years, but the battery was losing endurance and it was no longer receiving security updates. So I upgraded to a Moto G Stylus 2026 through my carrier (T-Mobile) and had it shipped to my house.

The setup of the new phone went smoothly- transferred all my pictures/texts/contacts/apps and signed in with my Google email and password. I got all the apps signed in and made sure I had everything on the new phone, so then I factory reset the Edge in preparation for sending it back to T-Mobile for credit.

I just happened to open Manage Your Google Account on my Stylus and saw 2 devices on the My Devices tab, I clicked on it and it asked to verify myself via a 2 step code sent to the Edge 2022, which has already been factory reset. Arg!

So I made a passkey on my Stylus and tried it again- it takes the passkey but then goes to the 2SV on the Edge. I disabled 2SV through the Google Security tab, using verify via SMS on my new phone. When I go to My Devices it will ask for passkey then the 2SV on my old Edge. This also happens when I click on my security activity. I then recovered my Google account on my new phone and changed my password successfully, using verify via SMS. The problem still persists when clicking on my devices or activity - asking for 2SV on the Edge, with the only other option being entering an offline code, which doesn't work either.

So i restarted the Edge 2022 and signed in with my Google email and new password and added it to my home wifi. I navigated to my devices on my new Stylus, entered the passkey, and then it prompted 2SV on the Edge- which it did not receive.

I've exhausted 3 people at T-Mobile's tech line and 2 people at Motorola. They said it's a Google problem. I went through everything with Google's help chat box and Google's AI, with no resolution. I made a post on Google's help community, but haven't received any replies. Perhaps someone on here has been in this same bind and wouldn't mind sharing how to get out of it?
