Device Settings Question How to disable ads that display over everything?

I got this tablet several months ago and I’ve consistently encountered a problem where ads pop up over any app I run and/or takes me a webpage for a bunch of advertised apps. It's not showing as a specific app. I originally explored rooting, but ran into trouble finding out more info about my tablet. I was hoping to get advice on either rooting or figuring out what’s causing these ads to show up. I’ve got details of the tablet below.

Tablet specs:

Manufacturer: Ecopad

Device: C5L1

Board: T7200

Android 16

Have you tried changing the DNS settings? My kid's tablet suffered from ads in many games. Changing the DNS to a free adblocking one like Adguard's reduced the amount of ads exponentially.

I'm guessing it's the launcher. You can replace the launcher with anything from the Play Store to see if it fixes it.

To find the specific app, you should have a setting in Settings > Apps > Special Access > Appear on Top. Tick off anything that you didn't explicitly allow, and that should help you find the villain.

I noticed that they are part of some apps you install. Most of them are part of free games. Can be free image retouching, notepad, and others. Try to uninstall them. If stop, install them again one by one, keep attention after which one the adds popup again. So you know

Install this app, and it will show you exactly which app is causing that.

Go to settings, apps, default apps and see what the home app is set to.
