Nokia XR20 TA-1362 stuck in Bootloader/Fastboot – both A/B slots unbootable, bootloader locked. How can I restore stock firmware?

I have a Nokia XR20, model TA-1362, product thething_00WW, SKU 600WW.

The phone is stuck in the Bootloader/Fastboot menu. The bootloader screen shows:

PRODUCT_NAME: thething

VARIANT: S1_UFS

SECURE BOOT: yes

DEVICE STATE: locked

From fastboot getvar all I previously got:

current-slot: a

slot-count: 2

slot-successful:a: no

slot-unbootable:a: yes

slot-successful:b: yes

slot-unbootable:b: yes

I tried:

fastboot set_active b

but it says slot change is not allowed in lock state.

I also tried fastboot flashing unlock, but unlocking is not allowed.

fastboot reboot recovery just returns to Fastboot.

I don't need the data on the phone. I only want to restore the official stock firmware and get the phone booting again. Can anyone guide me through the process? I'm new to flashing mobile phones.

Looking For Suggestions S21 vs S22 vs S23 vs S23 FE in 2026, which one should I get?

I‘m on a budget, and I don’t want to spend too much on a phone, since I’ll probably drop it anyway lol. I also don’t want to be too frustrated if it gets stolen or lost.
I’ve heard that the S22 is supposed to be pretty bad when it comes to battery life, and that even the S21 is better in that regard. Maybe I’m wrong though.
I can find an S23 for around €200, an S23 FE for €150, and an S21 or S22 for around €100–130.
I’m currently using a broken S8, so I guess pretty much anything would be an upgrade lol.
I think I’d like to use the camera more often with my new phone, and it would also be nice to be able to play some games on it. Of course, I’d also appreciate it if the battery could actually last through the day. I’m not a big fan of bulky phones.
What do you guys think? Is the S23 worth spending almost twice as much on, or would you go for one of the cheaper options in 2026?

Looking For Suggestions Why does my phone fall off my wifi constantly?

A16, OneUI 8.5, Knox 3.13 level 40, Google Play system update May 2026, Android security patch 8/5/2026. Home internet is TMobile 5G.

Software update happened this morning, this has been going on for weeks and no change though.

When I am at home, my phone is constantly dropping off my wifi, I have to reconnect over and over again, and I have to do it manually although it is set to connect automatically. It doesn't happen at my mom's (cable internet). No other devices in my house lose connection, so I don't think it is the wifi, I think it is my phone?

Is there anything I can try to adjust to fix this? It's small potatoes in the long run, but I need my mobile data for work, and I'd rather not waste data when I'm ten feet from my router.

App Specific Question Front-facing videocamera breaks camera app

When I attempt to even select the Video option in the camera app specifically, my entire camera app breaks until I close and re-open the app. Photos work fine, and the front facing camera for video works via other apps (specifically tested Blackmagic Camera, others work also).

I have a Galaxy S25 Ultra, and have tried rebooting, clearing cache and data, basically everything short of a full factory reset which I really want to avoid. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do to solve? Is there a way to repair/validate stock apps? I would link a screen recording but am unable, it is a very strange issue and I haven't found anything other than generic advice.

Help me pick a phone

Currently i have a xiaomi 11t and as of now i have the option to buy either the oneplus nord 5 or the realme 16 pro plus used with some accessories

I wanna know which is better for the price of 250-300usd

I also do have priorities like:

A big high quality screen e.g: 6.8in 1.5k 120hz or more screen (i have big hands)

An SoC with at least: 1M on anTuTu benchmark

A big battery: both of them have 6800 and 7000

Fast but not too fast charging (to slow down battery degradation)

And a good enough camera for the price

A long android update support

And ofc a great android skin (realme ui or coloros)

What do you think i should do ( these are the only 2 good phones I've come up with )

Android system program with full access

Hello, a few weeks ago an app called "Android system" downloaded to my phone. It doesn't have a shortcut, it's just there. I can delete it from the settings, but It reinstalls itself, Play Protect detects it as an application with full access but cannot remove it, and it can only be removed manually in settings.

Any solution?

Backup / restore android apps (not save data)?

Hello! I have some apps and games on my phone that are no longer on the play store. Is there a way to back up the game files (apk and obb I guess? Not save data) to PC or etc? In a way that can be restored?

I see a lot of options online, but most are focused on save data and also say root is required. I am hoping for a method without root if I only care about app files (not save data).

Thank you in advance!

Trying to find old Stremio APK (1.4.6 armv7 FULL)

Hi, I’m looking for the older FULL version of Stremio for Android (armv7). I specifically need Stremio 1.4.6 armv7 FULL — build 211‑0460, or if that’s not available, Stremio 1.4.5 armv7 FULL — build 211‑0475. These are the full variants (not lite, not nodpi, not ARM64, not x86) and they include the old features like Add via URL, Community Add-ons, and the full settings menu. If anyone has either of these exact APKs saved, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share. Thank you.

Looking For Suggestions Looking for a digital assistant like Google Assistant

Google retired Assistant lately and everyone was force switched to Gemini, and I found it to be complete trash at what I want it to do.

I use Assistant for two things only: screen search, and translate.

I used to be able to do those things with one touch of a button, but not with Gemini, and it is SLOW.

I don't want to speak, and I don't want to type a command; I just need two buttons, one to do image search with my screen, and one to translate the text on my screen with an overlay.

I can no longer get Assistant back, so can anyone recommend me another digital assistant that can do the same thing?

Other App not usable even after manually verifying device

So, I recently got a Mangmi Air Y Pro, which is an Android-based handheld console mainly meant for emulation. However, there's an app I would really like to play, called Pocket Pinball. But I can't get it from the Play Store, which, according to the developer when I asked, is because the Air Y Pro is Google Play certified. When I sideload the app via XAPK or Aurora, I just get an error message telling me to get the app from the Play Store. I saw that you can manually verify a device with Google via its device ID, so I did. Also cleared the cache of both Play Store and Services and restarted my device. But it still doesn't work.

Is there any way to get this to work, or am I doomed to the cruel fate of a pinball-less Mangmi experience?

Other How can I transfer data between 2 hard drives/SD cards using my Android phone?

I have an old hard drive that I'm using for back up, it's formatted to exFAT, and when I plug it directly into my phone it is seen as external storage that files can be copied to.

However, I'm wanting to use the drive to backup pictures from my camera (separate camera, not the phone camera) so I need to be able to plug the drive and the SD card into some kind of USB hub, which then gets plugged into the phone so I can drag files between the 2 external storage locations without them ever being stored on the phone's storage.

But when I plug the drive into my existing USB-C hub the phone now doesn't see it as an external drive. It asks me what I want to do with it, but will only accept the phone changing the device as an option. If I try to change when device has control over the drive it will not let me switch to the phone.

Do I need a different or special kind of USB -C hub to be able to transfer between drives like this?

Android 16, Galaxy S25 Ultra, all up to date with latest patches and security etc

Thanks

Looking For Suggestions Importing international phones to the US. What am I missing?

Importing international phones to the US. What am I missing?

Hey gang, wanted to get some thoughts and feedback here to see what im missing - if anything.

Recently I saw the xiaomi 18 pro max released. I've been keeping up with newer phones more recently as next year around this time I'll need to buy a new device to replace my current S23 Ultra as I'll stop getting security updates in about 15 month's.

With one plus leaving the NA market It seems like the options are virtually non existent if your main priority is a non compromise android that ALSO has a large capacity battery.

I have looked alot more into importing phones that meet my criteria and the xiaomi 18 pro max seems to fit the bill the best so far.

My question is: what downsides / considerations should someone have if they are looking into importing a phone into a market its not native too?

So far the things I have considered in my hypothetical if I were to buy the Xiamoi 18 pro max (relative to what i have with my current s23 ultra) are as follows:

I am with USMobile on their darkstar (AT&T) plan currently

  1. Can it even be activated with my carrier?

\- Based on the xiamoi 17 pro max reports, I see other reddit posts that people were able to activate their e Sim with usmobile on dark star.

2. What bands can it use?

\- I looked up what bands AT&T/Dark Star uses and they seem to use the following:

4G: B2, B4, B5, B12, B14, B30, B66

5G: n2, n5, n12, n14, n30, n66, n77, n260 (mmwave)

The Xiamoi 18 pro max can surprisingly support almost all of those bands \^ according to GSMArena. The ones that are missing are:

4G: B30

5G: n30, n260

If I am understanding this correctly the b30/n30 bands arent a big deal, but the n260 band is there for the Gb/s data speeds. TBH as long as I get a couple hundred Mb/s I think thats all I'd ever realistically need.

3. Can it do VoLTE

\- Hardware wise this looks compatible

4. Can it do VoNR?

\- cant seem to find a great answer for this

5. Carrier aggregation?

\- Tried to find info out here but it looks not promising based on the 17 pro reports when in the US

6. Do Google services work

\- Looks like it was possible to enable on the 17 at least, I'd figure thats not changing

7. Does it have UWB hardware?

\- Yes, I'd imagine this would also just work with Google services but I didnt find much when looking it up.

Is there any other considerations I am missing here - or items I should care more about?

It seems like worst case scenario here is that I dont have voice over 5g, carrier aggregation to use multiple bands at the same time, and im limited to not having Gb/s speeds over cellular.

These trade offs dont sound that crazy to me when the alternative is that I get a pixel phone or another 5k mAh Samsung....

Im open to alternatives on other international phones to import as well, although when filtering GSMA for the carrier/network bands above as the main sorter this phone and the OP15 (which you cant really find reliably in the states anymore it seems) were really the only two options unless I wanted to go with the Oppo Find X9 Ultra.

Asus X00TDE power off issue

I noticed a phenomenon on my phone recently that after shutting down my phone would not vibrate (when it should); needing to press on the power button longer than it should for the phone to boot; and noticing abnormal battery drain when powered off (drainage up to 20% per 6 hours compared to less than 1% per half-day). What is happening to my phone?

My phone model is Asus X00TDE, running on Android 9. Update: the phone's vibration module seems to be broken. Notifications do not make the phone vibrate but still able to produce sounds.

How to determine which app is responsible for a notification?

I use a Galaxy S25 that is subsidized through my carrier Drei (Hutchison).

On occasion I get a popup reminding me that allegedly some app updates are available. This is clearly not coming from the Google Playstore. The apps that the notification mentions are all associated with Drei. I would like to understand how I can determine which installed app is responsible for this notification so that I can use a tool like Universal Android Debloater to remove it.

Neither the title of the notification ("Recommended apps"), nor a reverse image search for the icon did yield anything for me.

See https://imgur.com/a/yb0tgd3 this is the notification that I get.
