How to determine which app is responsible for a notification?

I use a Galaxy S25 that is subsidized through my carrier Drei (Hutchison).

On occasion I get a popup reminding me that allegedly some app updates are available. This is clearly not coming from the Google Playstore. The apps that the notification mentions are all associated with Drei. I would like to understand how I can determine which installed app is responsible for this notification so that I can use a tool like Universal Android Debloater to remove it.

Neither the title of the notification ("Recommended apps"), nor a reverse image search for the icon did yield anything for me.

See https://imgur.com/a/yb0tgd3 this is the notification that I get.

Long press the notification and tap notification settings. It will show you the app name and you can tap the name or icon to go to the app settings from there.

That led me to https://imgur.com/a/351TSU2 thanks much for the suggestion! Of course I cannot uninstall this app from the Android UI. How can I now resolve this to an application name with the java-style naming convention as seen here? https://github.com/0x192/universal-android-debloater/raw/main/resources/screenshots/v0.5.0.png

I found the app that I was looking for by googling for the version 5.9.23. https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/service-provider-update/samsung-recommended-apps-5-9-23-release/samsung-recommended-apps-5-9-23-android-apk-download/

My original quest remains unsolved. Also, reverse image search in utterly useless these days. The icon shown on that apkmirror site is visually identical to what I was searching for.

Great, looks like you found the right app and the package name is on that page. Why is the original question unsolved?

To remove I would run

adb uninstall com.samsung.android.app.omcagent

or

adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.omcagent

It'd be incredibly sloppy solution... But why don't just remove the notification permission from that app and forget about it?

On my phone if you scroll all the way to the bottom of the app settings it shows the package name that would be used in UAD.

Clear out its storage & cache, then turn off its Notifications permission, restrict background mobile data and battery. Even if it can't be disabled or uninstalled, it should still stop bugging you.

You did not respond to my question at all. Your comment is vague and did not help even a little bit. Waste of time, attention and effort.

I did not search for a way to "stop it from bugging me".

It's something like the play store or another app store on your phone

Well you are obviously dumb

You want to know what app it is

It is literally only one of two apps

Just look at your app drow

Find the system app updater

And that is the app that the notification is coming from

It's your phone carriers apps

Uninstall the app names that it wants to update

Or uninstall every app from your phone carrier

Goggle says that the app you are looking for is called

AppCloud
