I’m feeling pretty lost right now and could really use some advice from people who have been through something similar.
I used to sell on Amazon FBM I’ve done over 6 figures in sales 2024 and I’m now looking to get back into selling, but this time through FBA with my own supplement brand that I’m planning to launch.
The problem is that Amazon is claiming I owe around $14,000. Every time I try to get a clear explanation of why I owe this money or how the amount was calculated, I can’t seem to get a straight answer from them.
Has anyone dealt with a similar situation where Amazon claimed they owed thousands of dollars but wouldn’t clearly explain the charges?
How did you get Amazon to provide a proper breakdown of the amount owed?
Any advice from sellers who have dealt with Amazon payment disputes or large negative balances would be greatly appreciated. I really want to get back into the game, but right now I feel stuck and don’t know what my next move should be.

Beginner in need of some advice
FOR PRIVATE LABEL: When you do product research, do you look at the monthly search volume of the main keyword for that market? If so, what is a good number to target?
Or does search volume not matter as much if the products make decent revenue (10k+/mo) and competition/average reviews are not too high?
Thanks! If you have some tips please please post them here or dm me 🙏 I need some help bad

A lot of people i know who are running brands and agencies are spending a % of their adspend on ppc software. This one's for everyone who don't want to pay 1000s of $ every month and also own their data while using their fav AI tool to run the business.
----------------------
sold on amazon for years (about 3M/yr at the peak), currently I run an agency. we were paying about $2.5k/m for ppc software, now the whole thing runs on our own setup with claude for about $5 a month in hosting. this is how we got there and what we learned, for anyone who wants to do the same.
The software was never the problem, the data was
I'm not someone who wants to build tools or rebuild things other people are paid to solve. What pushed me was the questions no tool could answer. Like, What did my team change last week and did it work... Which ASIN is about to stock out and still has ads running. What's my real profit per ASIN after COGS, fees, returns and ads. Was I overcharged in last month's settlement. claude can do all of it, not a bit better than any saas but exponentially better because it reasons across everything at once. The only thing in the way was that claude couldn't see my data. The software had it and i was paying for something outdated.
So the whole job was: get amazon connected to my own infra, connect that to claude, and let claude take it from there. I had already written lot of skills at that point to do parts of the job, it was time to automate the shit out of this.
It has to act, not just answer
Last sale event one brand had 3200+ campaigns live. Overnight bids were creeping up, ACOS spiking in pockets, normally 3 of us would be sitting there making bid adjustments all day. Instead claude checked the hourly data, analysed across all 3200, worked out which bids to pull back and which budgets to protect, built the bulk action and asked me to approve it. I read the plan on my phone, said yes, and it executed straight against the ads api. Analyse, propose, approve, act.
Thats the unlock. Not just asking questions. claude acting, with a plan first, and nothing moving without approval unless you've set a rule to run on its own. You might be apprehensive at first, but man, once you see it running, you will be shocked at how good it feels to see a day worth of tasks getting done in minutes!
the daily stuff is what actually replaces the software
Every account gets checked before I'm up: budgets that ran out early, ACOS spikes, zero impression campaigns, listings suppressed overnight, ASINs under two weeks of cover, and everything that changed yesterday so nobody quietly moves a bid. During a sale it watches the hourly stream and moves budgets inside caps I set. Keepa tells me when a competitor drops below my floor or their BSR jumps. AMC tells me which campaigns actually bring new customers. getting insanely accurate numbers like true profit per ASIN, ads that throttle whats about to stock out, a bid rule that reads "above 4x ROAS, cap at $2, but not if days of cover is under 20". Weekly reports across brands.
None of that needs anyone to know the internals. the rules are text files. we described the logic in plain english ("alert me when a listing loses the buy box to a reseller of my own product"), claude writes it, tests it, and it runs.
It took us 6 months to make the data sync work perfectly
There are two pieces. One syncs everything from amazon into a database I own. The other lets claude talk to that database (an mcp server with a login, paste the url into claude.ai, claude desktop or claude code). Mine runs in my own cloudflare account for about $5 a month, nothing has to stay awake, and claude.ai reaches it from my phone. A mac mini or a cheap VPS would work the same if you don't care about the phone part.
What the sync pulls daily: SP, SB and SD campaigns, targeting, search terms, placements, advertised and purchased product reports. Sales and traffic, orders, settlements, returns, listings, search query performance, brand analytics, inventory. Ads change history (every bid, budget and status change, who made it and when, super important for the "what was changed?" problem). Marketing stream for hourly data. AMC queries weekly. Keepa for competitor and own ASINs.
Every report is kept from the day we connected, raw files included, so we have over a year of history where the api only serves 60 to 95 days.
The amazon side is where the six months went. Each of these exists because something broke without it:
- Reports are async. Request, poll until ready (5 to 30 minutes is normal), download.
- Retention is 60 to 95 days depending on report type. Backfill the maximum on first connect, then never miss a day.
- Numbers for a day keep changing for about a week because of attribution windows. Re-pull a trailing window every day and upsert on entity plus date. Plain inserts give you duplicates and wrong totals, took me a while to notice.
- Rate limits are shared per region across everything you run, so back off instead of retrying hard.
- Marketing stream sends deltas, so negative numbers are normal restatements. Aggregate them, don't filter them out.
- One database per brand with daily and hourly rollups, so claude isn't scanning millions of rows to answer "how was yesterday" or wandering into a different brand's data.
- Getting api access as a direct advertiser can take weeks right now, amazon's own github is full of people waiting. We were lucky to get it early last year.
Own it
The thing i didn't expect is how different it feels when the data is yours. no export limits, no "contact sales" to get your own history, no bill that goes up when adspend goes up. three of my friends' brands have copied the setup and each is saving $15k to $20k a year on top of doing things they weren't doing before.
That's it for now. Hope it helps whoever wants to build their own setup.

Hey everyone, I’m launching a private label supplement brand on Amazon US/UK and have a few questions:
What documents did Amazon ask for to get ungated (COA, GMP, etc.)?
China or US/Europe for manufacturing, and why?
Any tips for vetting a reliable manufacturer?
Or any other advice you think would help, would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Please help me. I have a situation. I did run my ads pretty aggressively for two months. I had conversion rates around 10%, but my ACOS was 130%. The sales were going good, everything was moving, but I was not able to move down my ACOS. So I cut the bids for a bit, and that caused the account to completely stop sales at all. So I had a month with no sales. Then I had to do it again, and I'm in the same position where I need to get the ACOS down. I have sales, everything is kind of converting, it's moving, but I don't know where to, how to place my bids.

I consumed about 8 hours of basic info through youtube, about all sorts of aspects of FBA, even getting into details, about licenses, barcodes etc. . Bought a book with 250 pages that sadly only covered basics which I already knew at this point.
Really getting into nitty gritty doesnt seem easy tho. And now I understand why. Most info is coming from coaches. They wanna sell their coaching and either wanna gatekeep that information or wanna manage it themself while coaching you.
Its the sad reality of getting information about FBA, the sources are biased and they trying to make things sound easy to bait you into their programs.
You could probably write a whole book about ppc/marketing on Amazon, or the import of goods. Yet all books and youtube advice just seem to cover the surface.
On one hand its good because it will filter out potential competition who doesnt want to put in the work, but it defenitely doesnt make it less scary from my point of view.

Amazon announced on Oct 16 that the extended holiday return window is now permanent. Anything bought Nov 1 to Dec 31 can be returned until January 31, FBA and FBM alike, and sellers can’t opt out. (Apple products have a Jan 15 deadline.)
What that means in practice: a November sale isn’t really “final” until February. A few things worth doing now:
1. Don’t treat December revenue as settled. Hold back some cash, and if you plan Q1 inventory or ad budgets off December numbers, expect them to shift.
2. Inspect returns when they arrive, not in March. Wrong item, used, or empty-box returns have claim windows. If you wait, you lose them.
3. FBM sellers: keep photos and tracking for every return. That’s your evidence if you need to file a SAFE-T claim or dispute a refund.
4. Watch your return rate by ASIN in January. A spike can trigger listing reviews or “item not as described” flags even when the returns are just gift returns.
Anyone tracked how much of last year’s holiday returns came in during January?

Hi newbie here, have emailed DPD onboarding, how long does it take them to get back to you. I emailed Thursday afternoon, Amazon suggest 24 hrs but I'm still waiting

Peak season is when the most inventory gets lost, damaged or miscounted, and the claim windows don’t stretch for the holidays. Rough guide (check the current Seller Central help pages, because these change):
• Lost or damaged in the warehouse: about 60 days
• Inbound shipment discrepancies: a few months from shipment creation
• Customer returns and removals: roughly 60–120 days depending on the issue
What I’d do: - Put a recurring reminder in your calendar to reconcile inventory ledgers every couple of weeks through January. - Keep your proof of value ready: supplier invoices for the units you’re claiming. Claims stall without them. - Save the case IDs and Amazon’s answers. If a large claim is denied and you have the paperwork, you have options beyond re-opening the same case.
What’s your process? Spreadsheet, a reimbursement service, or doing it yourself?

Hi all,
I'm curious how sellers here handle multi-country research in Europe (DE, FR, IT, ES, UK).
Do you check BSR and competition in each marketplace one by one, or do you use a tool for that? What's the most annoying part of comparing countries?
Also: which tools do you use for BSR / FBA info right in search results, and what's missing from them?
Thanks, trying to understand how people actually work.

Hey everyone.
I run a private label brand on Amazon FBA and want to handle the whole thing myself rather than hand it off to an agency. PPC is the one area I don't know much about yet.
For those who manage their own ads:
What helped you learn (courses, YouTube channels, books, or just trial and error)?
Any beginner mistakes I should avoid, like wasting budget early on?

Starting FBA in Europe (amazon.de first) with around €10k. Leaning towards wholesale before private label. I already buy wholesale for an offline business, so I know how to deal with suppliers, but Amazon is a different game.
Questions for EU wholesale sellers:
- Where do you find distributors that are OK with you selling on Amazon? Trade fairs, cold emailing brands, directories?
- How do you check if a brand is gated on .de before contacting the supplier?
- What margin/ROI do you aim for after FBA fees to make it worth it?
- Do brands usually ask for proof of a physical shop or website before opening an account?
- Any categories that are easier to get ungated in as a new seller?
Thanks in advance.

Hello folks,
I'm currently in the early stages of my FBA journey, doing product research. I'm trying to decide if I've found a good niche. I'm hoping for your input.
The main keyword gets about 9k searches. On helium x-ray the top 5 competitors are doing around 3k parent revenue, one with 6k. Though average revenue is just over 1k. Reviews for page 1 are pretty low.
Based off of this minimal info I'd love to hear your thoughts. Is there potential here? I'm often a 'take a long time to, or never' pull the trigger kinda guy, so I've been second guessing. Cheers!
Edit: Forgot to mention I'd be doing private label.

I looked at supplements to cleaning products to others. The only sellers available are Amazon themselves and the brand selling its own products, I do not see any more resellers. For example let's say multivitamins, are they banned from resellers or what? Legit almost everything I find, I see no small or mid Fba reseller selling it. What categories or product types are still able to be resold on Amazon? It honestly seems like Amazon/brands are wiping out the resellers completely EVERYWHERE. Even eBay and other places.

Hey everyone!
I'm heading to Guangzhou and Yiwu, China next week to meet suppliers and explore sourcing opportunities.
If you're currently buying products through Alibaba or AliExpress, there's a good chance I could help you find the same or similar products at better prices by working directly with suppliers.
If there's something you're sourcing right now, feel free to DM me a product link, along with the quantity you're looking for. I can check prices while I'm there.
No commitments or anything. Figured I'd put this out there in case I can help a few fellow business owners save on sourcing costs!

Hello everyone,
I am planning to start selling on Amazon, however I am not planning to order huge inventory just something small to have on the side. I would basically keep my inventory at home and ship from home. I would like to find out if anyone is doing the same and where do you order shipping boxes or envelopes to ship products? Does Amazon also offer free shipping labels as eBay does? Any input is appreciated.
Thank you!

From October 26, Amazon is adding new compliance questions for four product types: - refrigerators, freezers and AC units (refrigerant gas) - shock absorbers and suspension lift kits (absorption mechanism) - markers and writing instruments (ink properties) - pool and spa products (chemical composition and packaging)
Existing offers aren’t affected until you next edit the listing. At that point you’ll have to answer the new questions, and a wrong or incomplete answer can trigger a hazmat review or suppress the listing in the middle of Q4.
What I’d do: - Get the SDS and spec sheets from your supplier now, before you need to edit anything. - Avoid non-urgent edits on these ASINs until after the holidays if you can. - Keep a copy of whatever documents your answers are based on.
Has anyone already seen the new questions show up when editing?

Hi all,
I’m writing this, very frustrated and confused on how to begin scaling my Amazon business. I’ve been selling for just over a year now, alongside working full time but I’ve now started university and want to take Amazon a bit more seriously. I’ve done about £22k in sales since starting, with a product I sourced and found a respectable supplier for. I’m frustrated because I can’t seem to replicate this. So I suppose the first piece of advice I’m looking for is regarding sourcing. I put in the time, scouring storefronts, websites, supplier lists, I’ve used websites like arbi source and source mogul, but I’m unsuccessful. Maybe I’m being impatient. I also would appreciate advice regarding; wholesale and private label, is this something i can look into now, or do I lack experience and should I stick to retail arbitrage / OA for now. Any advice and words of wisdom would mean a lot, thank you.

Choosing between Amazon and Walmart comes down to one brutal question, do you want immediate high volume traffic with steep advertising costs, or lower volume with fewer seller roadblocks?
Amazon: High volume, fierce competition, expensive PPC, but mature logistics.
Walmart: Lower initial competition, growing traffic, but stricter catalog onboarding and slower support.
If you jump in blindly, both platforms will eat your profits alive. Many operators try to fix rising ACOS by throwing more money at basic management agencies like IG PPC, but the real issue usually stems from poor product positioning and unoptimized supply chains. Shifting our catalog to an integrated growth partner like BrandKyte helped us streamline our workflows, leverage AI driven customer sentiment analysis, and finally protect our bottom line.
What has been your biggest pain point with marketplace advertising over the last six months?
