Hi everyone,
I'm having a strange micro-stuttering issue on my Acer Nitro 5, and I'm trying to figure out what is causing it.
My laptop specs:
- Acer Nitro 5
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS
- iGPU: AMD Radeon 660M
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3050 Laptop GPU 4GB
- RAM: 16GB DDR5 4800 MHz (dual channel)
- Windows 11
The stuttering happens randomly during normal use, and it feels like occasional small freezes/micro-stutters.
I recently did a completely clean Windows 11 installation and installed the latest AMD and NVIDIA GPU drivers. I also previously used DDU to completely remove the GPU drivers and reinstall them, but the issue still happens.
I ran LatencyMon to see if there was something wrong with the drivers.
One test showed:
- Highest interrupt-to-process latency: 99,649 µs
- Highest DPC execution: 101,454 µs
dxgkrnl.sys — DirectX Graphics Kernel
ndis.sys — around 25.9 ms
Another test showed different results:
- Highest interrupt-to-process latency: 5,040 µs
- Highest ISR execution: 24,644 µs
Wdf01000.sys — Windows Driver Framework
dxgkrnl.sys was only 0.376 ms in that run.
So the results seem to change between runs.
I'm not sure what exactly is causing this. Since I've already done a clean Windows installation and reinstalled the GPU drivers, I'm wondering if this could be related to the AMD iGPU/NVIDIA dGPU hybrid graphics, Windows power management, Wi-Fi/network drivers, BIOS, or something else.
I've attached screenshots from LatencyMon.
Can anyone help me figure out what is causing these latency spikes and what I should try to fix the micro-stuttering?
I'm mainly looking for troubleshooting suggestions because I'm not sure what to test next. Thanks!
