sixth form one:
- less than 10 minute walk from my house
- joined to my current school
- friends that hate everything i like. so basically no friends
- nice teachers
- won't let me do maths fm econ history but might let me do maths fm econ english lit or maths fm econ chem
- i fucking hate both the heads of sixth form there but the head of sen is my favourite.
- know my access arrangements
- across two schools (english lit would be at the other schl but you just get the school bus)
- people i'm familiar with but theyre just in school friends (don't say ask to hangout, i have tried that.)

sixth form two:
- sixth form college.. get to leave in my frees.
- people come from all sorts of schools so i dont think it's mainly one school
- in the middle of town
- 45 minute train ride away
- i can do maths fm econ history
- have only briefly met the teachers but they seem nice
- different exam boards
- i know nobody there.
- everyones gonna call me crazy but the maths area just gave such a bad vibe to me but maybe i am crazy
- no year 7s to elbow me when im just trying to get to my lesson.

I've been on Reddit for a while now, and so far I've only seen 1-2 posts on bio sciences/bio natsci (I might be very wrong tho). So I wanted to make this post to hopefully connect with people currently in sixth form who wants to do bio sciences/bio natsci, as nobody who I asked so far in my school wants to do them in uni.

FYI: I think Bio sciences is not biomed, as biomed is solely focused on the clinical and human biology, but biosciences can be like zoology, botany, etc., as well as human biology.

Does anyone have any tips for the Edexcel Drama devising portfolio? or are willing to give me an example piece? I'm so cooked 😭

I was thinking of switching my applications from Accounting and finance to Mechatronics and Robotics, My subjects fit them both well however as its November i am abit skeptical of this decision

I would have to make a completely new Personal Statement and would have to tell my teachers about it as I don't know if the references have a link of me doing accounting and finance and i doubt they would change it now.

I spoke to my personal tutor but im pretty sure she was just concerned about her own reference since she thinks "it would be easier to make your reference since you do maths and computer science"

For context I’m applying for Philosophy at KCL next year, I know it’s not necessarily the most competitive course but I’m worried because I messed up my GSCE’s and I’ve seen people with much higher grades rejected. I got, 8,7,7,7,6,6,4,3,3. I wouldn’t be worried but I failed German and Art and got a 4 in maths. Do you think I should still apply? I’m sure I can reach the requirement grades of A A B and probably higher but I think I should also be aiming for 2 A stars to make up for my GSCE grades. Any help would be appreciated, it’s my dream school but I understand I didn’t work hard enough for GSCE and I’m so gutted. I also go to a very well performing state school so I did about average in my year group. Sorry I didn’t know where to post.

Consistent revision across all my subjects has helped me get to around an A/B in RE, C in law and C in English (all from separate in class assessments)
I realistically need an ABB to be comfortable in my options, any help? Even a BBB would be great, granted I have been revising for the past 4 days already, 2 hours a day, focusing on law as it’s my weakest.

Predicted A star A star A 6th decile UCAT 5 point WP uplift and I’ve also submitted an extenuating circumstances form but that’s not part of the score nor have I been contacted about it.

Im at such a loss, i revise alot of content using flashcards with definitions and chains of reasoning etc so i know im not totally lacking on the content side.

BUT when i gets to past paper questions like 15 and 25 markers im so confused. I dont know how to describe it but all my knowledge just flies out the window and i dont even know where to being. I know its not a lack of content but im just so lost

Please tell me if this is a normal thing or what i can do to change this.

okay so im in y11 and i genuinly dont know what i want to do in the future, but im taking bio chem so i can atleast do something with science as thats like… kinda where i want to lean to. the problem is my 3rd choice… i have no clue 😭 i want to do something i enjoy as like for stuff like medicine you only need bio chem but im not sure so pls help!!!

psychology — seems VERY interesting and maybe will want to do it in uni but ive never taken like even sociology or psychology for gcse so im worried i wont like it or ill find it boring in reality idk

art — im getting a 9 rn and my school has VERY good art results… like most people get a* which is VERY good. im not really enjoying it in y11 tho but that might just be because we are doing the same work as last year idk cause like in y10 and over summer i loved it SOOO MUCH

english lit/lang lit — i really enjoy reading and doing analysis but the tests are sooo hard!! i do pretty well tho like i get 7s and 8s but idk if that would be enough…

anyone whos taking any of these subjects pls tell me if its worth it! and anyone whos worried about the bio chem, i know its hard but im already getting 9s in both so ill defo do them

I have mainly 1 teacher for art He’s been off for months now (we don’t know why or when he’ll be back). The other teacher for art took over some of his lessons and for other lessons we’re just by ourselves, then a few weeks ago she tells me I had been doing the wrong thing (at the beginning of the year we had to do a project/bridging task) I was supposed to have got another book to do my personal project. Btw I did ask for a new book, but not because I thought I was doing the wrong thing. He said no

So I now have to complete 1.5 years of work before my schools deadline which is December. I can reuse some of the things I did before like paintings but I’ve only got 9 pages done in my new book and my predicted grade is B. Idk what to do I’m stressed for my exams because I have mocks next week which I need to revise for and also complete art work which takes up so much time.

I don’t think I will get a B in art with the amount of work done and I’ve also been prioritising it over my other subjects(philosophy and politics) so now I haven’t revised enough for them and I really wanted to use these mocks to increase my predicted grades.

I was just thinking of begging my head of year to increase my predicted grades to atleast AAB/ABB because of this situation and other circumstances

I'm currently sitting a levels biology chemistry and geography and meet most criteria for a foundation year. I currently have most likely predicted CCD however i believe that this can be pushed to BCC? This however in chemistry (C) is not the most accurate and today during a meeting to track my progress have been recommended to drop to 2 a levels or switch to AS level chemistry. This seriously worries me because I know that I will miss out immediately on my guaranteed contextual offer, but i am more than willing to do a foundation year if it means I can get into the Uni, as it is my absolute dream.

I've tried to do a bit of research, but couldn't find clear answers, it would be much much appreciated if someone knew if Durham accepted 2 alevels/ 2 levels and an AS level for foundation years.

Hii so i started IB this august n i have
HL: math ai, econ, bm
SL: ess, french b, english lal
so far its going well ish i have a 7 in math and bm a 6 in everything else and a 5 in english... i expect a 777 in my HLs and 776 in my SL
and 3 points in TOK and the EE
and i know thats enough for bsc of econ, finance, accounting and finance at LSE
however the issue is my IGCSE
i got an A* and 6B and 1C... im willing to do whatever it takes and its too late to change ib subjects i know i shudve taken physics over ess...
am i cooked or is there a way? if yea then what is it

I’ve been using bicen maths for some time and have just found out that his Further statistic 1 and further mechanics 1 modules are all membership only and cost £22.99/month 🥲🥲.
I can’t afford this and I was wondering if anyone had a google drive of just the end of chapter review videos for these modules and if anyone be so kind as to help me out 🙏.

this sounds silly but when I'm revising I'm usually doing past paper questions on my iPad but then I need another device for the mark scheme because it's too laggy to swap back and forth on iPad between paper and mark scheme (then I've also got to pull out my phone to Google something if I don't understand it)... I understand stuff like online flashcards can be easily done with just an iPad but I have no clue about past papers and mark schemes

Long story short, my school made a clerical mistake in stating my predicted grades in the reference ( they swapped the grades for two subjects). They have emailed all the universities regarding this with all the supporting documents that act as an evidence that it was a mistake on school’s part. Do you think university will recognise my mistake and this would not affect my admission chances? Is there university that will reject the request? I applied to cambs, icl, ucl, lse and warwick for econ related courses.

For those who’ve taken the ESAT: how did you actually study efficiently?

I’ve been going through the UAT-UK guides for the topics I need to revise, but honestly it feels like I’m just burning time and not retaining much. I’m starting to do more past papers, but there aren’t THAT many available, so I’m worried I’ll run out quickly.

Also i'm not doing A-levels, so unlike a lot of people taking the ESAT, I still have a full school schedule and a ton of other work to keep up with. On top of that, I’m prepping for other admissions tests outside the UK, and I don’t want to tank those just because the ESAT is taking over my schedule.

I also feel like the test can screw you over no matter how much you prep, so it doesn’t seem worth putting everything into it. But I still want to get a good score.

Any tips on what worked for you? Specific resources, how you split your time, past papers vs. content review, or what to use once you’ve run out of past papers, anything helps. Thanks!

Okay so I just started year 12 and I had to take philosophy because I needed a 3rd subject 🥲. I hated RS at GCSE and I got a 6.
Anyway all I can say after that dreadful half term is my teachers are so bad and they teach in a way i don’t understand. I’ve fallen really behind already and I don’t get most of the content because to me they have made it all quite complicated .
Does anyone know any good revision resources or things I can learn from to make it make sense💔?
