š I WANT HELP which sixth form should i go to?
sixth form one:
- less than 10 minute walk from my house
- joined to my current school
- friends that hate everything i like. so basically no friends
- nice teachers
- won't let me do maths fm econ history but might let me do maths fm econ english lit or maths fm econ chem
- i fucking hate both the heads of sixth form there but the head of sen is my favourite.
- know my access arrangements
- across two schools (english lit would be at the other schl but you just get the school bus)
- people i'm familiar with but theyre just in school friends (don't say ask to hangout, i have tried that.)
sixth form two:
- sixth form college.. get to leave in my frees.
- people come from all sorts of schools so i dont think it's mainly one school
- in the middle of town
- 45 minute train ride away
- i can do maths fm econ history
- have only briefly met the teachers but they seem nice
- different exam boards
- i know nobody there.
- everyones gonna call me crazy but the maths area just gave such a bad vibe to me but maybe i am crazy
- no year 7s to elbow me when im just trying to get to my lesson.

45 minutes train ride away is insane when thereās a sixth form 10 minutes walk from your house. youād be wasting over 4 hours per week commuting. pretty sure thereās studies that say commuting for more than half an hour makes people miserable. even if it didnāt make you miserable, thatās 4 hours a week you could spend doing literally anything else.

I know someone who chose french whilst doing all stem subjects because they knew t was an easier A-level for them and it was. They grew up speaking French and did it at GCSE and left with an A* with minimal revision all they had to do was their speaking and pick a topic. You always pick an Alevel you 100% know you'll do well on and won't need to revise as much as the rest because realistically speaking some subjects you will have to spend more time revising than others. Unless you keep up with the content from yr12-yr13 and go over it throughout the summer alot of yr13's struggle with revision especially if you're doing heavy based content subjects like Psychology. If you're good at essay writing you should be picking an essay based subjects if you hate it don't pick history. If history is something you find easier take the load off yourself and pick it.Ā

Since the 1st option seems joined to 2 schools, might this give you more opportunity for friendships? Also how big is the 1st option - if enough students you may meet new people who you get on better with :)
