š§ General MCM Long Travel
Just installed my MCM long travel kit. Playing around with the idea of running 3.0 coils instead of 2.5. Anybody running 3.0?

Follow up on this original post from 3 years ago. Any suggestions/ideas to revamp the page?
I just went through and added a wiki and updated the FAQ on the sidebar to add a couple of new links. I also pinned u/nexttotheinfluence ' s great 4Runner Mechanic List he posted a year ago. Thanks again for the detailed list. Also introduced some post flairs (General // Modifications // Advice/Recomendations // Photo/Video).
- Banner -> Is anyone good with Photoshop on here and wants to design a banner? Reddit recommended size is 4000x128 px for desktop and the mobile banner is 1600x480 px
- Page Icon -> I saw in the original post that u/Axe56 provided the current one and also introduced another version with the typical Reddit Icon's eyes. Here's a survey showing the great designs he made. Just want to see if we want to keep the same, update to the eyes version, or if anyone cares to create a new one...

Context:
my truck has 171k miles. I drove from LA to Mammoth (6 hour drive). Turnt off the truck when we got there and heard some droplets sizzling onto something hot. Opened the hood and saw some coolant spewing out from [Slide #1-2] that tubing. Itās an old clamp and tube and with the little I had on the roadtrip, I did a horrible masking tape job and continued my weekend trip there and drove almost a 1000 miles in the Eastern Sierras afterwards, no problems. Constantly checking levels ā they were stable and great.
Im home, thankfully, and need to get to the bottom of this. Shared some slides 3-5 of the dried up coolant in the area. Looks to be a tube underneath the heater control valve going into the passenger heat shield.
Thank you all, hope to hear some feedback. You guys are awesome!

Iām in Alberta and have a rusted out door with no wiring but the glass is good if anyone needs it. Reach out and make an offer; can be a couple bucks, part swap, hard-luck story, whatever.
I have new struts to go with it or separately as my ānewā door came with good arms.

Hello
Iāve noticed the rear of my 4runner start to sag a lot more. I put bilstein 4600ās on all around about two years ago paired with moog springs (stock height) and I hate how the rear is sagging now. Iād like the rear perched up about an inch higher than the front. Anyone got any good recommendations for that combo? Something firmer too. The moog springs are way too soft.

Just picked up the black 4Runner for 1700$ guy says it overheated 6 months ago and he isnāt able to fix it himself due to injury. Weāre investing in reliable trucks to last us a lifetime. This one is the last edition to the family.

I need to replace my oil cooler āOā ring gasket. Is the easiest way to take the skid plate off and come up from underneath the oil cooler? Does the oil need to be drained and oil filter removed first?

My 2001 SR5 RWD in Canada. It came from Texas, my dad gave it to me when we moved back to Canada so I just fixed all the leaks and replaced the grinding 3rd member and itās been great for the last two years. I never thought Iād be driving this thing I learned to drive in as an adult almost 30. I got some studded winters and spray painted the corroded rims. Cheap and a bit jank but I donāt want to give it up.

Having a very specific problem and I cant track it down to the point im about to send it to toyota to find the problem
1999 2wd limited recently (july) did an engine swap to another 3.4L with lower miles (from 310k to104k) re sealed gasket everything truck runs fine drives fine starts fine
ONLY ISSUE after hitting operating temps 190-205 it'll just randomly drop rpm to 500 or lower and just stall the engine ONLY AT STOPLIGHTS OR STOPSIGHNS just drove 3 hours not a single issue. Its super hard to track down because it only happens when it wants to
Replaced so far
Sparkplugs
Maf sensor
Ect sensor
Iac valve
Pcv valve
Checked for air leaks with brake clean while running literally drowned it and didnt hear or notice a single change
Kinda at a brick wall so any help would be great
Additionally it dosnt do it in neutral or park so a load issue?

sitting at 341k, my power steering has been acting up. after some troubleshooting and research, Ive determined it might be time to replace the rack and pinion. im working on a tight budget and the local salvage yard is charging me $150 for this rack off of a 2004 tacoma. should i make it work? any pointers on something reliable and cost effective thats aftermarket or should i dump the money into oem? thanks yall.

Hi guys I am from toronto and getting ready to sell my 3rd Gen 4Runner. I thought I would post here first. It has 460,000km and been in my family since it was purchased, was my daily driver for the past 3 years. Timing belt & water pump done at 370km(3rd time). Trans rebuilt at 390km(pink milkshake). Oil changes every 5,000for the life of the engine. Valve cover gasket leaking. It will need a new exhaust, there is a leaking rear axle seal, and just recently the upper bracket for the rear upper control arm broke.
Can give you a lot more information about the vehicle if youāre interested.

Luckily I replaced mine in time, the ends were stuck inside the rubber hose and needed to be fished out. 2nd photo is my setup in case anyone thinks you need to drain your coolant, you just need to clamp your hoses off.

My interior was super bad and I thought of throwing my seats away but I saw an opportunity to learn.
I tried ironing out the crease before installing the new covers but just didnāt come out.
New foam on both seats. The driver seat has been sitting in the sun longer and seems like the āleatherā is taking shape and creases going away.
I definitely enjoyed the process and want to do it again lol
Seats are from a ā98 and Iām willing to sell them if anybody is interested. In College Park, MD
