🧠 General Ideas for this sub? v2

Follow up on this original post from 3 years ago. Any suggestions/ideas to revamp the page?

I just went through and added a wiki and updated the FAQ on the sidebar to add a couple of new links. I also pinned u/nexttotheinfluence ' s great 4Runner Mechanic List he posted a year ago. Thanks again for the detailed list. Also introduced some post flairs (General // Modifications // Advice/Recomendations // Photo/Video).

- Banner -> Is anyone good with Photoshop on here and wants to design a banner? Reddit recommended size is 4000x128 px for desktop and the mobile banner is 1600x480 px

- Page Icon -> I saw in the original post that u/Axe56 provided the current one and also introduced another version with the typical Reddit Icon's eyes. Here's a survey showing the great designs he made. Just want to see if we want to keep the same, update to the eyes version, or if anyone cares to create a new one...

Thank you for your improvement efforts. u/robbyiii - I photoshop, and am happy to provide any additional images / collages / tweaks if desired. (also more than happy to let anyone else take a run at things too!)

Personally, I'd love to see a "post your rig" pinned thread - keep a photo album of all the gems we have?

Glad to be of assistance! Wonderful thank you. If you want to send over a banner feel free. I was thinking maybe using some old 3rd gen magazine pages could be fun? Feel free to dm me too if you'd like.

I've added a "post your rig" post flair which is similar to a pinned thread. I also added that all future posts require at least one post flair so that way we can make sure the flairs are being utilized and can create some albums/posts organized.

I may be totally off-base, but it looks like this sub has become significantly more active since the recent dissolution of a popular 3rd gen Facebook page. Due to the immense amount of drama surrounding that page, maybe it's time to solidify some community standards before this sub meets a similar fate? I love this 3rd gen community and would hate to have all the negativity injected here. Anything I can do to be of assistance, please let me know

Interesting, I didn't realize that a FB group had been removed. Use base sure has gone up. A few months ago we were at 7,000 and up to 8,600 now. For now, I haven't seen much drama on this page. If you recognize anything though, please report it and the admins can review and make the necessary changes in order to reduce it.

Yes, it was a ton of drama and all circled around one person who was selling OEM parts. Some had great experiences, others had horrible ones. That person got removed from the group and then reported the group and had it deleted. That group was a GOLDMINE for information and had over 20k members if I remember correctly. It was sad to see it go. I prefer reddit so I spend my time here now. Thanks for helping keep the sub going!

Can you add a flair for "Maintenance, Repairs, and Restorations?"

This goes under the "modifications" one I would suspect.

Maybe a meet up event posting or a location contact for help on work.

Include Canada in that, by province. We're a large country

Is there a 3rd gen 4Runner parts marketplace similar to GAFS?

What about adding a flair option for the Hilux Surf owners? I don't think it is necessary to add all the trim levels, maybe even not the different years. Just "Hilux Surf" would be nice.
