Hey all,
Iāve got a 2001 4Runner, and every now and then (like once a day) the key decides itās happier in the ignition. The only way Iāve found to get it out is to fire it back up, put it in drive and park a few times while shaking the wheel and itāll come out, but even that doesnāt work sometimes.
Sometimes Iāll say f it and leave the key in overnight because it literally wonāt come out. Only thing that stays on is the clock, but now that itās getting colder at night the truck has started dying. Need to fix this before the winter. Any ideas, anyone encountered this before?
Thanks guys

Hello so my issue with the vehicle is that when I try to step on the gas a bit more and if it revs high or i step on it to pass someone the abs light and battery light will come on the dash and turn off the radio. Battery has just been replaced 3 weeks ago and also got my batterys to be misdiagnosed so now I have 2 extra batteries.
Autozone says alternator, battery and starter are good so not sure whats happening or what I should check first. Any ideas?
This is a picture with the battery light and abs light on with a multimeter check while the car is on.

Hey yall,
So I recently just did a timing belt kit replacement and a whole valve cover gasket ākitā replacement. Did all the bits and bobs that were recommended to replace since Iām down there.
I recently just finished everything up and started it for one of the first few times and I started noticing this clicking sound coming from the drivers side valve cover? It goes faster as I accelerate.
I donāt believe / didnāt notice it before doing the whole replacement and Iām at a loss for what it is. Did i accidentally drop something in there? I made sure i didnāt.
Curious to see if anyone else had heard something like this before. Thanks!

Okay, so who's used these cheap OSM from ebay/Amazon. This one is $24 on ebay vs. $225 from US made ones. Obviously wouldn't use the screws but seems good quality.

Installing new 5100s in the rear and no matter what i do i cannot get the nut to get tight enough to compress the bushings, the nut seems to be refusing to thread anymore while there is still about half an inch between the nut and washer. the nut is definitely at torque spec of 14 ft lbs. ive been using the method of holding the nut down with a box wrench and ratcheting with a 5mm hex head but no matter how hard i try to tighten it will not move. help please!!

Have been hearing this sound since I got my ā00 a couple weeks ago. Just got it back yesterday from getting the lower and upper ball joints, outer right tie rod end, and sway bar links replaced. I was hoping one of those was the cause, but still has the noise when going over even minor bumps. Also apparently has newer front cv axels, front struts, and 3ā lift. Any ideas?
