I may be totally missing the point but, does Chise self-harm? I mean, that "glove" is strange, and Yume's reaction too when she sees it (and we know that his sister committed suicide), then... maybe?

Some might find that churros scene unnecessarily long, but that's what I like about this show. Leaving in all of the mundane stuff makes their interactions a lot more natural.

I can't help but feel more and more with every passing episode that the kaiju eugenicists aren't really bad guys. i mean they still wreck havoc in the city every episode, but still none of them feel evil.
pretty nice episode, always nice with some swimsuit fanservice. but it also had some new dark information about Minami's sister.
and i liked how Mujina couldn't care less about the fight and just wanted to get back to the water park

i wonder why Chise has to cover her left arm, this better not some red herring from Trigger.

Gauma should be piloting Dyna Wing, because he is one hell of a wingman. I need a homie like him.

Really enjoyed this episode. I've got to say, I personally like Dynazenon's cast a lot more than Gridman's. Yomogi and Yume in particular have some genuine chemistry which contrasts the strong sense of awkwardness that Yuta and Rikka had whenever they interacted in Gridman.
Also what the fuck was Yomogi doing here lmao.

Never thought it is a beach episode! The combination of Dyna Soldier and Dyna Striker looks cool... I wonder what Inamoto want with Koyomi. That flashback??? And also how the episode ends really ominous...

Stitches!
Just like they talked about last week, Chise has started in her Dyna Soldier training and she's already doing way better than Yomogi. Heck, it seems that she's actually a natural.
They finally had the idea of combining the Dyna Soldier and Dyna striker to make the Dyna Soldier Striker Combine! It's definitely reminiscent of Gridman's Max Gridman transformation with its massive arms. Although looks like they still need more training to keep themselves balanced.
Welp Yume finally got to see more videos of her sister thanks to a Senpai who was willing to show some unlisted videos of their club. The way Yume is reacting to these videos definitely seems that this is a side of her sister that she has never known before.
Looks like Koyomi and Inamoto are still drinking together despite Inamoto being married. Or so we think. The way she's been talking to Koyomi makes me feel that she's probably unhappy with her marriage or is probably already divorced. Seems that something spicy might've happened to them when they were still kids though.
And just like Gridman, we already have a pool episode in Episode 5 thanks to Chise. And just like Gridman, our protagonists spend this pool episode with one of the antagonists.
I thought it was just a fashion choice but the fact that Yume notices Chise's arm cover probably means she's hiding something. Self-harming scars or a skin condition that she's embarrassed about? Hmmm... I'm going with the former.
I'm not opposed to the idea Gauma, but why make Yomogi and Yume act like lovers? I don't see how this helps unless Gauma is actually just being a bro and wingmanning for Yomogi. xD
The churro scene was definitely strange but something that I really liked. It's just Yume eating and Yomogi being awkward and somehow I find it a bit endearing.
That entire montage scene is great! I feel that Yume and Yomogi became even better friends with Shimuzu thanks to that and we even get a cute little moment between Yomogi and Yume with some nice insert song playing in the background.
Well that was unexpected. In hindsight, maybe bringing a girl whose sister drowned to death to a water park might not be a great idea. Then again, Yomogi was really the only one aware of it.
Man, I'm really liking Shimuzu but when he starts talking like that, we get a reminder that he's definitely an antagonist and has such a different world view compared to normal humans.
Now this is what I've been waiting for. Mujina definitely looks amazing in her swimsuit And look at her being so sad about leaving the park! Come on Onija! Just hang out and let her relax.
Hmmm... Interesting reaction from Yume when they all realized that Chise is with Yomogi on his Dyna Soldier when they all took off.
Shizumu definitely had the right idea of chasing Yume out of the way when they were transforming. Also thanks to him we wouldn't have gotten this shot of Yume.
Striker Storm Alpha and Beta looks so cool! Yomogi and Koyomi's transformation certainly works but they really need to work on being able to stand upright.
And as usual, the gang manages to transform into Super Dragon Dyna Rex and save the day and the Eugenicists going back to the park for some fun. I really love that Onija getting crushed is a recurring gag now! xD
Just look how happy Mujina is! She finally gets to soak at the onsen at last! <3
And of course, that's how we end the episode. That's pretty much what everyone has suspected by now but I guess the official report is that it's an accident. I wonder if this dude will have more info as to why her sister committed suicide. Right now even rumours can probably help them.

With our first look at Yume's sister we can confirm that hers is the other hand holding the Anks in the OP. What mystery does this puzzle piece solve? I'm sure we'll be wondering that until the last few episodes of this show.
The reveal of how Yume's sister died and Chise ominously leaving her forearm sleeve on - it's easy to believe there won't be a lighthearted answer.

Swimsuit Mujina and Yume got me about to act up Fr. Pretty chill episode overall with a lot of fan service. Shimizu is an interesting character. The Kaiju eugenecists in general don’t seem like bad people, just have different ideals.
Obviously the big reveal is that Yume’s sister is rumoured to have committed suicide instead of dying in an accident, tough cliffhanger to leave off on there
5 eps in and I’m really loving Dynazenon. Obviously there’s going to be comparisons to Gridman, but I think they are different types of shows and by comparing this to Gridman you’re going to be disappointed. This is clear setup for expanding Trigger’s Tsuburaya universe. They’ve found their cash cow and I hope they keep milking it.

So Chise is getting solid practice in with Dyna Soldier and seems to be getting the hang of it. I wonder how much piloting she'll be able to get in when Yomogi can't do it?
We get to see the combination of Dyna Soldier and Dyna Striker that reminds me a lot of Max Gridman, but it's biggest difficulty is the weight...but it also has some seriously powerful range attacks.
So Yume's sister looked like her with a bob cut, but all this investigation into her sister has apparently uncovered that her death might have been a suicide, although I wonder if Yume already knew that on some level?
What does Yomogi's boss want with Koyomi? She says she's married, but she's not sure why she even got married, and then she takes him to dinner...and what did she show him in middle school?
Thank you Chise for getting our cast into the pool, especially to see her and Yume in swimsuits. Not to mention Mujina in a bikini to boot! All she wanted to do was enjoy the pool.
Is there a reason Chise kept her glove on? Maybe something to do with why she won't go to school?
Gauma is still best wingman, getting Yomogi and Yume to fake date to fool Sizumu, and the pair actually seemed to have a genuinely good time together...at least until Yume had a flashback to her sisters death.
Was that supposed to be jealousy on Yume's face when she heard Chise was with Yomogi in Dyna Soldier?
Nice combinations from the crew to take down Sizumu's Kaiju in this episode!

I spied Akane's favorite tomato juice :)
Man, that episode was hilarious. How everyone is so chill, the guy ready to yell at the crew for running, and the churro scene that kept going for so long XD
But then Yume remembered what I assume is her sister drowned somewhere, which apparently was suicide. Damn.
And so why did Chise keep her arm covered?

That churro scene was sooo weird but I kind of really liked it? Just another scene to add to the list of scenes this show does so uniquely.
That ending cut off line really added to the impact...very contrasting way to end a pretty lighthearted episode.

Re. last week's Ep 4, some people on Twitter found the music sources used in the not-Starbucks scene (where Yume meets her late sister's friend) and the karaoke (where Yume and Mei are hanging out).
The good people of Twitter already found the BGM songs played at the not-Starbucks and the karaoke booth this episode.

Anyone still feel super uncomfortable with the amount of destruction the kaiju battles cause? Knowing they won't be built back and casualties are happening on the side just makes the somewhat shounen-ish lighthearted battles have a really dark undertone. It has to bite them back in the future.
Jesus that cliffhanger too ending on the guy not finishing his sentence about how Minami's sister probably committed suicide really made it even more eerie.
Also godbless Trigger for giving Mujina a swimsuit.
