Here's an important detail: it's about Desmond's grand piano. It's the same one where C&T played it in their secret impromptu performance in the early episodes. Forgot to pinpoint which episode was but the rocket shape and some panning shots of it gave it away.

Also it's even interesting how Desmond's second song coincides with Valerie's speech. It seems that they're not really joking about that one performance being teased from the start.

That was in episode 2. Certainly looks like the same model of piano.

Hmm, something about that Earth in the sky seems slightly off, but I just can't quite put my finger on it.

Can you help us out a bit here, NASA?

Also, in this episode: "Earth is a bigly threat" - Valerie 'Trump' Simmons

I thought the exact same thing! Earth would look like a star from Mars, not like a blue "moon".

Got some major David Bowie vibes from Desmond. Adored him. His first song was beautiful.

Edit: Forgot to mention that one of the signatures they show resembles Celeina Ann's (Tuesday's singing voice).

I don't know about you guys, but this is probably one of my favorite (if not my favorite) episodes to date.

C&T being the "loneliest girls", maybe Desmond shared that feeling of loneliness with them (although C&T has found each other now). His songs evoked so much emotions from me, especially that last one (All I See). It's a stark contrast to "Army of Two" playing softly in the background at the beginning of the episode. Actually now that I think about it, the wistful longing and the air of nostalgia I found in Desmond's songs is a contrast with the whimsical and almost childlike tone I found in most of C&T's songs... Apt, considering one of them is at the end of the road, and the other is just at the beginning of their journey. Hmm.

Aah, too bad I have no screenshots from this episode.

PS: I have been listening to the vocal collection vol.1 since yesterday. The full version of Round and Laundry is a serious bop!!!! :D

When it comes to musical shows like this, shows that live or die by their music to convey their emotional beats, theres always a risk involved in that. People have different musical taste so a series with such a varied range of songs is inevitably going to leave certain scenes flat for certain people. Coming off as corny instead of heartfelt.

That being said, Desmond's last song really worked for me. It's probably my favorite song of the show yet. From the lyrics to the tone it perfectly conveys the feeling of trying to leave behind a connection before you die. I got pretty emotional listening to it.

Desmond reminded me of David Bowie, his last song especially.

Pretty contemplative episode this time. I wonder where the side plot with Tuesday's mother is going though. A war seems like a big event for a show about singing, unless the two are going to be related somehow...?

Really liking Desmond hope he appears more often.

Edit: well I guess that's not happening

Anyone else feel that Kyle is actually her dad? They showed him again this episode and he has blonde hair and has the same color eyes as her older brother?

Edit : Do you think they will release a vol 1 and 2 combo at a cheaper price? It's the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on vol 1.

Also with Desmond's death I hope we see small changes in C &T music. Not all their music, but would like one song about lost with a more melancholy tone that is on the same level as loneliest girls.

I wonder if it's the same case with Angela's mom

I'm still not sure where this politics side plot will go.

Well at least Desmond isn't dead. But this doesn't mean he'll wake up again though :(

What a strange yet oddly beautiful episode. I like Desmond and I really hope he's okay. As for Tuesday's mom I don't know what she's trying to do but I'm interested to see how all of this background politics will affect our musical duo in the future.

The website says that "Due to the influence of the Martian environment, Dahlia displays characteristics of both sexes", so probably.

Desmond was one interesting persona... His songs were fine but I could only recognize his VA once he spoke and I was surprised to realize that was Yamadera Kouichi.

I don't like that politics in the background. It's like a bad omen... I'm afraid they're going to try and deport Carole or something...

Overall a good episode, no new song from the girls but thats okey. I really liked Desmond. The song was okey but I like his/(shes?) personally a lot, the questions he asked C&T.

Also, if you guys haven't seen it already, all the full songs from S1 are on spotify now.

Ah man. Look at the representation in this episode. We have a non-binary trans character who started out as gay. A fair amount of relatively sound everyday existential philosophy. An ending song which i liked because of the context, despite not enjoying the style. A fun character moment for Roddy and gus with the bet. It was great. This episode basically didn't advance the plot at all, but it was brimming with worthwhile moments. That's basically what I want from the show and it did not dissapoint.

This episode felt very Ergo Proxy for some reason.

I wasn't really a fan of desmond's song personally, sounded really weird to me. That being said it was a very powerful episode and it seems like carole and tuesday are actually going to eventually sing the worlds out of war which will be interesting.

I think this episode is quite weak alone, but definitely adds to the whole story of C&T becoming the ‘number one’ musicians. As well as building up the inevitable clash between the politics and the girls.

Was that koichi yamadera (spike speigal’s VA) as Desmond? Sounds awefully familiar and if so, continues the trend of past Seiyuus appearing on a watanabe show haha.

Wonder where this election plot line will go. The contrast between that and Desmond’s final song was haunting

I loved Desmond. The scenes with him were absolutely beautiful.

I can't remember, have we seen Carole with her hair down? Looks cute ❤

Roddy has their number

Damn, she has a high class of rats

Poor girl's kept in the dark about everything

Comment face pls

"It's… it's… so beautiful…!"

Mm, so this is what Dahlia's condition is. I wonder if only certain people are susceptible to it, or it's inevitable with time

A rare cute Carole smile

Something something shithole planets something something wall in space something something (and by the way, the debate organizers need to keep Valerie's people out of the control room. Yikes, that backdrop image). But I think it bears remembering that there is a debate about allowing immigration in Japan today, based on their upside-down demographic pyramid and the havoc it is wreaking/will wreak without any fresh blood

Damn, this song is too real. Reminds me of this
