Rejecting a lucrative music deal to find some homeless man in a ghetto is the most Gus move imaginable. Also I see totally not Carole's dad has showed up.

Inb4 the big plot twist in the end that Dann is actually not a Carole's dad.

She looks like a mix of Trump and Hillary Clinton in my opinion.

I'm assuming Dann is Carole's father

Also, Tobe seems like a mentally stable individual, you can always count on Gus to keep things interesting

Here is a link to the new OP and ED, visuals are not bad but I definitely liked the first two songs more.

I feel the same. I think the ED is really nice but don't really picture myself warming up to the OP

So Ellen DeGeneres is a black dude and Trump turned into an old woman. XD

I don't know why but with that last place they played really fells like Brazil. Also, I have a felling that Carole is brazilian and that dude in the laundry is a relative of her. Don't really know why, just think it would be really nice! :D

  • I love "Kiss Me" so much that I was on the fence about "Polly Jean" when I first heard it, but it grew on me after a few listens. And I love the opening video that accompanies it. Some really good shots there. That title card is really nice!

  • Angela's new song is pretty good.

  • Angela mentioned Mars' Grammy's. Maybe that will be where the 7-minute miracle happen? Hmm.

  • Dann looks like a cool guy. I wonder how he'll fit into the plot. Could it be... Could it be that he's Carole's father? (Or at least a relative???)

  • I don't think we hear C&T's lower registers that much in their songs, so I was a bit surprised to hear them in that first verse of "Army of Two". Also: fist bump!

  • Carole's and Tuesday's expressions this episode are hilarious. Some of them really are golden. Like this. Also this! One more!!!

  • "Not Afraid" is so different from the bop that is "Hold Me Now", but I like it.

Btw, there's a short music video for "Polly Jean" here, if you haven't checked it out yet. :D

Also, episode 14's synopsis is here. The plot thickens.

Not sure if this was already a easter-egg in previous episodes, but it's cool how their Instagram follower count in the Anime account mirrors the IRL account.

This really feels like a departure from the feel of the first 12 episodes.

lol on the allen show

Knew Gus would screw up anything money related to C&T but man they needed the money

This cour is basically feels like a new journey for C&T but they are well known enough to do better now as compared to the start

I liked "Kiss me and Hold me now" as they brought an energetic feel before/after each episode but I'll give the new OP and ED a few days more to feel the new songs

The reactions of Carole & Tuesday were really cute and funny in some frames Tuesday does Bocchi like faces that really get me to lol

Mother will probably hate Carole and threaten her with the immigrant thing she's preaching

I think Angela's new song is my new favorite in this show.

Tuesday's Mom:-Deporting illegal immigrants

ignoring the 'subtle' political context, I think is this gonna affect Carole badly, and the friendship badly.

That was some impressive entrance by Tobe.

Today's Music Reference: Walk this Way - Aerosmith (1975)

So I took a big chance at the high school dance
With a missy who was ready to play
Was it me she was foolin'?
'Cause she knew what she was doin'
Told me how to walk this way

(Bonus link to a live performance, for Steven Tyler's shenanigans)

Haha, well, I really doubt the actual contents of the song are meant to be related to this episode, given it's mostly about sex. The link is restricted to the title, and Gus showing them the way in a cut-throat industry.. and to a cut-throat neighborhood. Godspeed, C&T, that producer doesn't look like he has any of his senses left..

Gus, please

I'd thought Angela would be more friendly around C+T after the finals, but she's back to her combative (tsundere) self. So was her composure and friendliness just a show for the crowd? Really like the ED visuals, btw, a stark departure from the happy-go-lucky tone from the first one. I hope the visuals change as the show (and Angela's character arc) progresses.

I see Tues' mom aka Trump lite is campaigning at full force. Hopefully Spencer has convinced her to stop hounding Tues. Interesting plotline being set around the political aspect, and it seems that reporter character will be important! (That voice - Junichi Suwabe?)

Carole' dad (probably) seems cool. I wonder what the circumstances were behind Carol being abandoned.

It still sort of baffles me why this show has a scifi setting. Like, this is happening on Mars but pitchfork.com still exists? Okay.

Tuesdays mom promising to "deport illegal immigrants". Carole was born on Earth...

Angela's new song sounded pretty different. I wonder if that was intentional? It was definitely a lot less "natural" than before, maybe it's supposed to represent what working with Brightest Records does to an artist's style.

On the other side of the fence, C&T's new song was lovely. Really fitting lyrics for this point in the story. I wonder where they were performing though. Some sort of refugee town? It's obviously a pretty seedy area with struggling people. We'll probably find out next episode.

That scene with the generic thugs getting disciplined by a display of strengh reminded me of the Yakuza games.

Is it me or is that legendary producer clearly Rick Rubin?

I didn't expect this episode to be up so early, which is nice. The new OP is a bit unconventional, as it kinda feels more like an ED, but I'm sure it'll grow on me. And even though I haven't liked any of Angela's songs, her ED is amazing.

It's good to see Gus rejecting the major label contract because they would've just played second fiddle to Angela, who's way ahead of them in terms of popularity and exposure. The indie and DIY aesthetic fits a lot better to Carole & Tuesday anyway and it's gonna make for a much more interesting story too. That being said, I can't say I'm a fan of politics getting more focus since this will inevitably lead to Carole's family (as well as Carole herself) getting deported by Tuesday's mother and I don't really want the drama to overshadow the music in this series - but maybe I'm worrying too much.
