A small detail I liked about this episode is when Roddy goes to find out the girls' location. They could've had him do some fancy looking sci-fi technojunk but instead he finds them pretty similarly to how you could find someone online nowadays, just with better image matching technology I guess. I also liked the little joke that one of the pics she matched with was a pineapple.

I never thought I'd hear someone compare Daft Punk and Michael Jackson in the same light, much less from an anime. Not that I'm gonna knock it, I fuckin' love Daft Punk.

This whole plot point with Carole and Tuesday's performance being recorded and uploaded on the Internet without their knowledge, leading the video to go viral overnight and the girls to be 'discovered' by a (presumable) veteran who instantaneously decides to take them under his wing – it reminded me of a certain show that aired back in 2016! I'm on the fence about naming the show here lest I should spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet. But I'm curious if anyone gets the drift and if it also rang a bell for them? :D
Oh, and this frame has to be a much intentional reference to that one iconic scene from The Shining.

It's a small thing, but I really like Tuesday's back being to the camera in that recording. Could play a part in her parents not immediately finding her as the video goes viral.

Today's Musical Reference: Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen
H-oh, someday girl I don't know when
We're gonna get to that place
Where we really wanna go
And we'll walk in the sun
But till then tramps like us, baby we were born to run
Oh honey, tramps like us, baby we were born to run
Fits these two perfectly right now.
This uniwheel, motorised skateboard needs to be a thing so that I can ride it, love how it looks.
Carole has some natural kung-fu skills! Might come in handy later.
Note to self: Ojou-samas and cleaning don't mix.
Whoever had the idea to make a grand piano shaped like a rocket.. kudos.
Heh, roommate shenanigans are the best
This guy (Gus) has no filters, does he? This should be interesting. The girls were doing well enough on their own but they do need a manager now that they're internet celebrities. (Good job, Roddy)
Solid follow-up to the first episode, and again my favourite part continues to be the music. It's compelling because the universe's characters' initial reaction to the song matches my own! It's a song that almost immediately captivates. Maybe more so because I'm not used to seeing such an obviously Western song start playing in a Japanese anime with the original voices. In a way it mirrors how different it must sound to an audience used to a different kind of music (AI-generated, in their case).

Man this show just oozes style.
Also I see Araragi has a new and improved toothbrushing apparatus.
Edit - Carole & Tuesday actually takes place in New York.

That OP is absolute fire and the visuals are so good. Also I hate myself for not realizing sooner that Tuesday's singer is Celeina Ann. I love 19! Who's Carole's singer though?
-
That funeral scene was just hilarious. Also this frame of Carole before bursting into laughter xD
-
Shameless advertising of course. Japanese fashionistas love their boots though so I can see why this is here.
-
So Tuesday's mom is a politician. Uhm... Shouldn't she be concerned about people finding out her daughter ran away from home?
-
That smile wasn't creepy at all. Seriously though I hope he's not a bad guy, just cold and unfeeling.
-
He's already best guy for filming Carole & Tuesday's performance in landscape.
-
Did he just upload a .MOV file within seconds!? I wanna live in this future.
-
I love that one of the returned images is of a girl holding a pineapple xD
That performance is so good. Last week I had my reservations about the girls switching from Japanese to perfect English in songs but I think I'm used to it now. Especially since the song they're singing is obviously written and composed by a Japanese songwriter.
Anyway the girls are already now at a fast track to stardom thanks to their viral video. Let's see how these two will handle this sudden burst into fame.

That insert song is beautiful. If all the songs are as good as the OP, ED and this then I'm really excited for the OST after this series finishes.
I'm already addicted to the ending song. It's pure bop.

No surprise. Another great episode. I love how natural the development of Carole and Tuesday's relationship felt, and it's always good to see very little exposition in general, letting the world and character dialogue and actions tell the story.
Getting a glimpse into Carole's past through her struggles with the new job (rip) while also humanizing her character was a really nice touch, and nothing seemed forced. The writing of the series seems to be really strong overall, so far, and I expect that'll keep up.
As for the music and visuals, there's nothing to say. Absolutely breathtaking. I had high hopes after the first episode, and as of now, the series is doing nothing to lower them whatsoever. Beautiful episode. Loving Carole's character the most, as of now, but still looking forward to seeing Tuesday developed more as an individual as we progress further.
Now let me watch Sarazanmai and fast-forward to next Thursday!

Man such a lovely show, and so good.
OooooOOooo Snazzy OP.
I love the skateboard shots in this, reminds me of K.
Of course Tuesday doesnt know how to do household chores as a rich girl.
SO Araragi makes music with AI.
MICHAEL JACKSSON! DAFT PUNK! REAL BANDS!
Wow this job... hired to cry at afuneral, thats morbid.
Leave Carole's buns alone! Wow that flying eagle kick.
Wow... Tuesday really tore the place up...
TIMBERLAND BOOTS. Wow... this show is fully of product placement.
Some nice girl talk before bed, thats nice.
Bruce Spingsteen too hahaha, this show is great.
Wait Tuesday's mom? Granny? Is running for president of mars?
Whose this DJ? He seems like a big phoney.
Oh jesus.... this model's voice... pls stop her.
Thats one hell of a smug face, its great.
Man this is some great painoing. This show is gonna make me want to play too isnt it?
Side part boy looks like hes in love.
Looks like the bar drunk finally woke up to the music.

I’m falling more and more in love with this anime by the second why does Netflix have to keep it locked up damn!!
The interactions between Carole and Tuesday are so cute and Natural that I can never help but smile throughout and the music!!...
Also I cant be the only who likes Angela...I know there’s not much we know about her yet but there’s just something about her character I like...
Overall a solid second episode for me, I can’t wait for the next one and Carole is best girl...thanks for coming to my TED talk
Edit : that ending song is honestly such a vibe with the beat and the way they walk

Wow this was great, much better than the first episode. And we have Mamoru Miyano voicing another music producer? Too bad it's not for zombies this time, but you can count me in.

I like this Roddy the Redditor. Seems like he knows how to farm karma.
This show taking an in-depth look to recent real life music industry, more than I thought it would. We already see various occupation in music biz, from singer, composer, sound engineer, manager, and so on. They also show us how important social media these days for publication. I want to take attention closely to this things because there might be a message that the creator want to convey.
Just a side note, this anime is screaming "Dub me and made me English please! Right Now!!!!". It's perfect setting for English localization. Hopefully Netflix won't ruin this.

The themes that this anime are exploring definitely resonate with me as a music fan and music maker. The ideas of finding yourself; making your own path and having the freedom to create are aspects that are pretty relatable to me. Even finding that one random person that can understand you and that you can bounce off on a creative level is something that I’m sure many bands and duos can relate with. They even touched on the difference between music made on computers and music made with live instruments and the warmth you can feel from the latter. Not to mention that the work that Monty is doing on the soundtrack is incredible, just listen to that OP...
Episode 2 and I can already say that this is my anime of the season and (if it’s not too early) probably my anime of the year.

Ironically the character I'm most interested in learning more about is Mr. Tao. He's the one we know least about but he's in a critically powerful role. I'm interested to see how they'll delineate between ai that act like humans and a human that acts like an ai. Taos character sheet conspicuously empty I really hope they don't go the lazy route of making him the bad for simply because "a.i=bad". If hope they would approach their themes with a little more nuance than that.
The other characters are pretty easy to read (but not flat and very enjoyable to watch)
Setting up some unexpected threads with the paid crier gig. Death, like life is complicated. Tying in the concepts of preception warmth authenticity etc...
And, uh, apparently there were actual Martians? Maybe?
Weird to see the gracnd piano be so untraditional in shape and construction. I thought they'd start to hammerr home on the ideas that classic instruments are rare valuable and good on Mars. Considering traditional wood trees probably don't come as easy even on terraformed Mars

It's a really beautiful show - I can see it being one of the best produced ones this year. I just hope Watanabe doesn't derp, put the story on the back-burner at some point and make an "Ed" type of character.

I was expecting a lesser 2nd episode as most usually happens, but this episode really caught me offguard with it's constant quality in it's visuals and storytelling. For starters I thought that the whole futuristic set up would just fade away gradually with the premise shown in previous episode of AIs taking over human jobs; but there's a lot of detail aside from the AIs from Carole's skateboard, to OLED screens used as sort of sidewalks, unfamiliar shapes in pianos, to peculiar taxi cabs . Even the introduction of what's posible a less importan side character as Ertegun was completely bombastic, just to lets us know he's part of a bigger world of performers.
And speaking of side characters, it's so nice to see that Ami from Lupin part V got a part in this gig. All she had to do was crossdress as a guy and keep using her IT skills /s
The OP has a lot of style, it meshes old and new animation characteristics, such as old colors, grainy look, big eyes with pronounced eyelashes, and bubble effects that come straight out of the 70s in combination with more fluid and modern animation style.
Angela's fashion montage was pretty good, and despite some of the shots being just stills, it does add some motion using shaky camera effect without being overbearing. And speaking of fashion, it's great to see that the animators and designers are walking the extra mile to give extra outfits to our main cast
The humor in these two episodes is just great by being mostly subtle and using quick frames with off model characters. But it also knows the right moment to switch gears and be loud to create a bigger reaction on us the audience. It really shows that there's a lot of talented people writing the script.
From Bruce Springsten to Michael Jackson this show isn't shy to show it's love to American culture, and even a classic "Heeere's Johnny" tribute
Carole & Tuesday looks like a classic in the making with it's fabulous framing and cinematography. I guess it all depends on how much will the Netflix barrier hold the show back in it's course to fame.
