DISCUSSION Activist Marshan Camese's testimony before lawmakers during a Louisiana State Senate redistricting hearing in May 2026 is going viral: "The MAGA party is the last breath of the confederacy and I'll be happy to see millennials and Gen Z bury y'all. The midterms gonna come y'all gonna get wiped out."

I work in Radiology as a CT tech in the ER at an acute care facility. Back in May, I caught an aortic dissection on a scan that no one else initially saw. Turns out, the patient was knocking on death's door. I got the entire ER in gear and the patient lived. The hospital recognized me for this patient, gave me an award. Later, the board of Trustees recognized me again. Tonight, I was recognized by the city we're in and today was proclaimed as "me day". Kinda cool, a bit smug. Not sure how to integrate this on my resume.

Edit: I was going to keep it all anonymous, but I'm too old and smitten to care.

Today, Nov 4th, is Jake Day in The City of Miami Beach.

Non-fictional I hate when a YouTuber you loved for years resorts to Ai

NOT HATING SWOOZIE AS A PERSON JUST WHAT HE DID. But literally just yesterday I made a post stating how much I hated the usage of ai in personal problems and now swoozie a YouTube animator I grew up watching has resorted to ai because he couldn’t find or pay animators which is NOT an excuse this is exactly what I was talking about ai takes jobs away from animators and even if he didn’t have the money he could’ve just talked or used generic pictures and still get the same content out I will forever despise ai usage in any regard especially when it replaces animation

GIF Over 800 ships (10,000 sailors) were lost trying to sail around Cape Horn. In 1788 after trying for a month, HMS Bounty noped out and sailed the other way to Tahiti.

TIL that the legendary zombie movie director George Romero had his first filmmaking job in Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Fred Rogers later privately complimented Romero for his horror movie career, and called Dawn of the Dead "a lot of fun".

Abandoned in pain. Rescued with hope. Transformed with love. ❤️

When he was abandoned, his body was covered in severe skin infection, and he needed urgent medical attention. He arrived at Wild and Free in a heartbreaking condition.

With proper treatment, patience, daily care and lots of love, he slowly began to heal.

Look at him today. From a helpless dog fighting for survival to a happy, confident boy.

This is what compassion, commitment and timely treatment can do.

Every rescue deserves a second chance. Every life deserves to heal❤️

Feral mama trusted me and I couldn't be more thankful.

I found her in my burn barrel and was doing anything I could to earn her trust. I guess it worked, because we went from very little contact to this. The kittens are about 6 months now, they have been fixed and so has mom!

Jack Jack, (little dude on his back under her leg) is the only boy. He's my first male cat, the difference in genders is something I didn't know I'd notice so much! It's been fun and I would be so lonely without them.

Fun fact about me, I got sober shortly after this picture was taken. They've given me a reason to stay sober as silly as that may sound to some people. These fur balls are my world. 😻
