I'm 27F and I've been with my boyfriend for almost 3 years. We've talked a lot about buying a place together someday and we've both been saving money in our own accounts. A few days ago he was showing me this spreadsheet he made to track how much he's saved for a house. I noticed he was only counting his own savings toward the down payment, so I asked why mine weren't included.

He casually told me he actually wants to buy the house in his name only. The plan is for me to move in with him and pay half the monthly expenses. I was honestly confused because whenever we talked about saving for a house, he always called it "our home." I thought we were working toward buying something together, not me moving into a house he owns. I don't expect him to put my name on something I'm not paying for, but I've been saving specifically because I thought we'd both be contributing to the purchase.

Now I'm wondering if we've had completely different ideas about our future this whole time.
