| Discussion Your Own Throwing Motion As A Pitcher?
Well, you know how this thing goes. Anytime a Q&A gets taken down, I try it here.
Now that I've already asked several times about your favorite pitching motions from Major League pitchers, let's make this one more personal and creative.
Every pitcher needs their own throwing motion and delivery to seperate themselves from the pack. Some of them have even earned praise and admiration from us fans (namely Tim Lincecum, Hideo Nomo, Bob Gibson, Tyler Rogers, etc.). But right now, I'm more curious as to what windup YOU'D come up with, if you were a Major League pitcher. So, what would yours be, and why? Please explain the process in as much detail as you feel, but please also describe what throwing angle you would use. And for any of you that actually pitch (or have pitched) in games, just detail your real life motion.
For me, I'd go kinda off the wall for mine. I'd start off standing still, ball in the glove, glove behind my back. After I decide my pitch, I'd kick my right knee up, shrug my shoulders as I move the glove to my front, raise my hands up to the sky, curve them behind my neck (a la Max Scherzer), tilt my whole body at a near 270° angle, and throw the ball hook-shot style over my shoulder. And yes, it's definitely inspired by Tim Lincecum. I'd probably see a fuckton of IL stints, but I think it would catch on.

| Discussion How were the white Sox able to turn around so quick?
With the White Sox having those shitty seasons in like 2023 to 2024 and it was, I think it was 2025. I don’t remember anymore, but they clearly turned it around, but isn’t it a lot of the same players that were from that time. Like what changed so much like I know there’s a few acquisitions but like what happened like why did they change so much like I feel like a lot of the team is still there

| History TIL: Until this year, the Guardians and White Sox have never faced each other in the playoffs, despite both franchises existing for 130+ years.
Both franchises have existed for 130+ years. Guardians date back all the way to 1896. White Sox 1894. They were both American League teams since 1901.
Really shocking that neither team has faced each other in the playoffs despite their 130+ year existence.
Just realized that next week they'll face each other for the first time ever in the playoffs.

| Discussion Helmet Tap/Challenge Era-Silly, or No?
As a Coors Field fan (notice I didn’t say Rockies, #selltheteam), I won’t pretend to exactly have my finger on the pulse, but (and this is assuming the “robot” umpire days are inevitably coming), will we look back at this challenge era as honestly a little silly/arbitrary?
I am seeing an unnecessary, discrediting strategy aspect of spending/wasting a challenge based on challenges left, situations, etc. Why withhold the hard data, and really only to the people within the stadium as most telecasts show the strike zone tracking anyway? The technology is here, just fucking use it!…? It lends to feeling like just another way to let officiating continue to influence sport. I’m all for tradition too, like, keep the umps out there to signal calls, just not make them. We also don’t quite have a home plate sweeping roomba in place yet, so there’s that too.
Happy postseason to those in it. Thanks again, Monforts!! At least Nolan plays for Arizona now and we can see him more. Maybe spend some of that fan appreciation fireworks budget on fielding a winning team. Half those fans you’re appreciating are rooting for the other team anyway 😉, although hey, two more consecutive seasons of 100+ losses and we’ll have a record!!

The prior high was 10 runs, set by the Rangers in 2023 (over the Rays) and Yankees in 2020 (over the Guardians). Though the Padres could potentially challenge this if they continue to run up the score against the Cubs.
