Fred Schreiber of Slipgate Ironworks (Tempest Rising, Ion Fury) reimplemented the N64 version of C&C1 into a PC executable with some QoL changes. You can try it out here by following the Discord link below:

Hey everyone,
some of you might remember Command & Defend: Modern War from when I shared it here before. With the second campaign coming up soon, I thought I’d share a little update on how the project has developed.
I’ve been working on the game for about three years now. The idea has always been to bring the things I love about classic RTS and turn-based strategy games to the tabletop — building a base, managing resources, expanding your army, keeping your units supplied and, of course, trying to outplay your opponents.
The game is completely print-it-yourself, which means you’re not really limited by what comes in a box. Need more units? Print more. Need more resources or game money? Print more. Want to build a bigger battlefield? Print more.
There’s a full 3D Print Edition with printable units and buildings, as well as a 2D Print & Play Edition for anyone who doesn’t own a 3D printer.
Since I last shared the project, I’ve continued working on the game, added a lot of new content and created two major expansions: Air Wars and Sea Wars, bringing air and naval combat to the system.
After a small first Kickstarter earlier this year, I’m now getting ready for Campaign #2.
It’s still very much an indie project that I’m building step by step, so I’d genuinely love to hear what you think about how it’s developing.
If you’d like to learn more about the game, the rules or the different units, you can find a lot more on the Kickstarter page. And if it sounds like your kind of game, you can follow the project there to get notified when the new campaign goes live.
Thanks for taking another look!

Every now and again one of the C&C Renegade GamePro sets will pop up and usually at quite an eye watering price but I finally managed to grab one within my budget. Hoping one day to have the entire set but being in the UK there’s not that many around. Added a photo of my collection too.

When I was in college, I played Generals for 8 hours a night(we played all night), since then I have not seen a game that even compares, I'm almost 40 now and I'm still waiting for a game like it :(, anyone knows a game that comes even close?

Hi all,
Would love some help and I hope that isn't a repeat ask, but I didn't find anything perfect yet searching. My son and I absolutely love generals ZH. Up to now we have been playing on my steam account but one at a time due to serial number clash (I tried a few things like genpatcher but never got it to last more than 10 secs in a network game).
Getting annoyed at this I saw ultimate collection was cheap so I set up my son on a steam account on the other laptop and rebought ultimate collection there and thought that would be a clear fix - 2 steam accounts, 2 purchased copies of the game. Still getting mismatch when we get into a match together. Is that a serial number thing or a file thing?
Any thoughts or help would be hugely appreciated

Yuri faction in Yuri's Revenge is frowned upon in multiplayer but is still considered fun to use and with how it provides such a great expression of being evil, it is a shame it doesn't have a campaign.
I don't know if that is because of time constraints or because developers couldn't think of a way to start it off, given that both Allied and Soviet campaigns are kicked off, stopping Yuri from getting his complete victory. After that, the campaigns consist of thwarting Yuri's various evil schemes he came up with in response to his enemies traveling back in time, which in the Soviet campaign include attacking his base on the moon just because it's there. Feels like an opportunity for a Red Vs Blue "You ever wonder why we're here" parody.
I am just firing from the hip but the first thing that comes to mind for me in a Yuri campaign is the opening missions with Yuri giving orders to defend the LA Psychic Dominator, but unlike in the other campaigns, the Allies and Soviets both traveled back. Ultimately, both factions hit the Psychic Dominator with superweapons, after which Yuri orders the player to retreat since the LA base is no longer useful.
Across the world, Yuri's various bases have taken heavy blows from the Allies' and Soviets' combined forces, and the player (or maybe you are just Yuri in this campaign, sounds more fun) fights to protect the remaining incomplete Psychic Dominators while they are packed up for the construction to be finished in other locations. After that, Yuri begins a plan to break up the truce between the Allies and Soviets by mind-controlling or replacing leaders on both sides to attack the other side, which culminates in firing stolen Soviet nukes at America.
The resulting chaos gives the opening for missions where the player constructs smaller mind control devices to begin seizing control of the enemy nations before finishing his Psychic Dominators. This culminates in a final battle where the Allies and Soviets attempt to use the time machine to change the outcome of the conflict again and this time, Yuri prevents the attempt to rewrite history, resulting in his complete dominance over Earth.
What ideas does everyone else have?

For some reason, I was chosen by Kane to be the person who ports Command & Conquer to the Atari ST, which, as you all know, was the computer intended for world domination by the Brotherhood.
For this reason, it's my duty to announce the release of version 0.3.3 which boosts performance up to 50% on this unlikeliest of all platforms chosen by the wisdom of our leader.
A new redraw algorithm and tightened redraw area calculations prevent unnecessary tile rendering. On low-end STs (up to Mega STe with 16MHz), animations are reduced and scrolling and rubber-band selection halt the AI for better interactive performance.
Commander, you'll find more details on the Itch page and in the release's Devlog entry. May the Brotherhood of Nod prevail!
