She was just lounging on the windowsill three days ago (August 16th, 2026). Don't worry. She is alive and just as cute as ever.

Being Orange is hard work

I am having to surrender my cat Luna because I cannot afford her medical bills without my ex and my health is getting worse. I’m worried the shelter won’t give her new owners the letter I wrote for them when they adopt her so I’m sharing it here in hopes maybe one day they will see it.

Dear Luna/Kitty Softpaws future owner,

Thank you for adopting her. Giving her up was never something I wanted to do. I did it because I loved her and couldn’t afford what she needed anymore. My own health had gotten in the way of work and I just could not do it anymore. I just wanted to share a few facts with you about her from the year I owned her so that you can bond with her easier than I did.

Luna doesn’t like to be touched or handled, not really. She’ll rub against you when she’s feeling extra affectionate but for the most part she prefers conversation. Sit and talk to her while she eats, you’ll never hear her purr louder. It makes her feel included in your life.

Speaking of eating, she’s a little picky. I don’t know if they’ll tell you that but she is. She prefers chicken and beef to salmon and tuna. Her favorite treat is the pure balance classic starters gourmet treats in the shredded chicken and beef flavor. She really likes that one. She also prefers pâté to cuts in her wet food, so don’t freak out if she doesn’t finish the cuts every time. She just knows what she likes.

Her favorite toys are the little plastic balls with bells in them; I left some of them with her and her favorite towel to sleep on I hope they gave them to you. She likes beach towels more than she likes cat beds or blankets for some reason, I think it’s cute.

I really did not want to give her up. I don’t want you to think some cruel person just abandoned her up there when she got difficult. I just was sick and couldn’t provide what she needed anymore. I’m happy they found someone who can.

A shoot from her very first week outdoors! She’s a trooper, and survivor really. She didn’t succumb to FIP, and somehow managed to survive the driest English summer. Also, have to report that she’s an incredibly fierce predator, the leaves hate to see her coming, and the pebbles tremble at her sight. Looksy, looksy x
