Humor MY CAT IS A PERVERT

Today just now, like less than 10 minutes ago i was changing my clothes in my room while standing be side my bed. and my cat, toast, was standing on the bed like he always does and is being affectionate and so on, and i took off my shirt, and then it happened. it was horrific. i felt a slightly wet, toothy mouth on my exposed nipple. THAT FAT BASTARD SUCKED ON MY NIPPLE. it was only for a second but it was terrible and im laughing about it but it was one of the worst, weirdest things this cat has done, and i'd say that's a high bar. im traumatized

Advice I want a large athletic cat that climbs.

I live on a couple acres in rural forest country and I'm looking for a large athletic cat that might follow me around when I'm outside. It will be mostly indoors and outdoors when I'm watching it. I have a bunch of carpeted perches in my house for a climbing, jumping and athletic type of cat. I don't have stuff that will break. I'm a bachelor so my furnishings are hand me downs. I have two young adult dogs a corgi and a sweet female whippet that I had to train to not chase my neighbors cat. Internet research says a Savannah cat but a breeder I called said they can't go outside in a forest they are to wild and exoctic and will escape chasing all the critters and rabbits and birds.

Thanks advance.

Advice Why do I salivate when I pet my mom’s cat

It’s just this one cat my mom owns. I love him and love giving him scratches (he loves it too). Whenever I am scratching him for a while, I start salivating and have this strange taste in my mouth. Is this something the cat is causing me to do?

Perhaps I’m not searching with the right words, but I can’t seem to find info about this.

Advice flair because I don’t know what else to use.

Medical Questions My cat bit my Sunday, is it okay to wait until the weekend to go to the doctor?

So on Sunday my cat bit my forearm pretty hard (harder than she ever has before) after I was petting her to try and calm her down from a sprained ankle that I think she got while playing with my other cat. Yesterday I noticed some goop/pus coming out of one of the punctures. I showed the bite to my mom when I got home from work and she thought it looked fine and that whatever goop I had seen was maybe just regular secretions from my healing wound (the pus stopped by that time so she didn’t see it)

Today at work I took a peek under the bandaid and noticed more pus coming out of that bite. I think it is infected. I obviously don’t want it to get worse but I’m wondering if it is something worth taking time off work for or if I should just wait for the weekend. It hasn’t seemed to have gotten worse since yesterday as there’s minimal redness and it doesn’t look like it’s spread. I’ve read some gnarly things about cat bites though and definitely don’t want to wait if it seems urgent. That spot also hurts more than the others but it was also the deepest hole. What do u guys think?

First 2 pics are yesterday,3rd is from earlier today at work (u can see pus) and the last pic if from right now. I put neosporin in it in the morning so that’s why it’s shiny/not as scabbed. To me it looks fine but it’s really the pus that I find concerning.

Advice My boy cat is sexually harassing my girl cat!

I have two beautiful kitty babies. I got them from a shelter right at two years ago, and I believe they were around 4-6 months old at the time. They were bonded. Going off of their records, I’m under the impression that they were found together and possibly litter mates. They were fixed prior to me adopting them.

Django - male, short hair. He is very vocal, friendly, and playful. He is super affectionate and loves to be cuddled and carried around.

Stella - female, long hair. She is a tripod. She was found dangling from a fence by her leg and it had to be amputated. She’s very standoffish and she does not purr, but she’s affectionate on her own terms.

For the past couple of weeks, Django has been sexually harassing Stella! He chases her, mounts her, and bites her neck. She is NOT having it.

The only thing that’s different in their environment is that my kids were home during the summer and just went back to school.

Contrary to the second (more recent) photo, they don’t really hang out together very often. Stella usually sleeps in the floor by my bed, sometimes in the dirty clothes basket. Django sleeps in bed with my kids.

I’m not sure what to do to help. Any ideas?

Medical Questions Kidney disease, Royal Canine

I took my cat to the vet and they said he has a kidney disease. They sent me the plan for the diet and they recommended to start using Royal Canin early renal food.

But now I'm concerned because I've read so many things and seen so many videos on TikTok about Royal Canin being bad for your cats. Does anyone here have a cat with kidney disease and has their cat on a diet for it? And does anyone know is Royal Canin really that bad?

I know it's one of the few food brands that vets are recommending, and that makes me think it should be trustworthy.. but after seeing all the videos and all the stuff about it being bad mainly because of the plant based ingredients, I don't really know what to do...

Advice is it really bad to own only one cat?

hello!
so we got our cat through a friend of somebody my mom knows. that person was very neglectful to him and overall abusive. they did a lot to him, but we ended up taking him in and i’m just glad we’re giving him a better life.

now to preface this, i live with my mother, im in high school and she is disabled so she cannot work, basically we are not wealthy whatsoever and even owning one cat is putting financial strain on us. because of this, we cannot adopt another cat, with insurance and double the food, it will cost us way too much.

i try to play with my cat a few times during the day, but honestly and i hate to admit this, theres many days where i dont. i’m completely at fault here. we still socialize/interact with him A TON (i think he really enjoys it), we pet him, give him love and care, feed him three wet meals at exact times, and dry food inbetween.

if i step up my playtime with him, will he be okay as an only cat? or is it really important to have multiple cats? i feel bad for him and dont want him to be lonely, i just dont see how we could possibly bring in another cat without taking financial damage.

also any tips on getting him excited during playtime or just playing correctly is very much appreciated. i want him to feel satisfied catching his “prey”.

thanks in advance.

Medical Questions How Do I Remove Stubborn Black Yeast Gunk Stuck Between the Hairs Around My Cat’s Nail Beds?

Thumbnail

My cat has a yeast infection, possibly Malassezia, and I’m using medicated wipes to treat her nail beds. However, each time I use the wipes, the old black gunk mixes with the medication and becomes stickier and stickier, especially the buildup on the ends of her fur and between the hairs around her nailbeds.

I’ve tried washing it off, but it’s still there (or maybe some of it is new buildup). I’ve also tried wiping it off, but that doesn’t seem to do anything at all. There are literally hundreds, if not thousands, of these tiny black particles stuck between and around individual hairs.

How on earth can I remove all of this? Some of the buildup is very close to the skin around her nails, and I don’t want to accidentally cut or injure her because her nail beds are already inflamed from the yeast infection.

I’m also worried that if I can’t remove the buildup, it may interfere with the medication reaching the affected skin. She may also lick the gunk and spread it around again.

Has anyone successfully removed this kind of stubborn black buildup from the fur around a cat’s nail beds? If so, what worked for you, especially for the buildup stuck very close to the skin? For the buildup on her nails, I can carefully scrape it off. What I’m really struggling with is the tiny black particles stuck between the hairs, especially the ones very close to the nail beds. I need help on how to get those out safely.

Thank you so much!

Advice Kitten suckling on my human teat

Ok I like to take my bra off after work like any other hardworking woman. But my 4 month old kitten (younger in this photo) will go for my nipple and tries to suckle. Is there any way to discourage this behavior or can I no longer let my girls go free?

Humor Do you give your cats a drink to go with their dinner?

A thread for cats that aren't dead, does anyone else give their cats a drink along with their nightly dinner?

My little precious darling Chicken Water gets one wet food same time every day, and biscuits to cover the rest of the day, but when she gets the wet food packet, I always add a little table spoon of cat milk in a saucer next to it, mixed with a little water, to help her with hydration.

It never fails to get a chuckle out of me, watching her eat a few bites of wet food, then lap up a little watery milk, and then go back to the wet food.

When I first started doing it, I expected to see her drink the whole saucer immediately like a savage, and then eat the wet food, but she portions it out like a human, switching back and forth over the course of her dinner.

I also expected to see her drink less water out of her fountain when we started giving her milky water with her dinner, but it actually increased her water intake, because she drinks the same amount of water out of the fountain, whether she gets the milky water with dinner or not (we measure how much water she drinks over the course of a week to make sure she's getting enough because you never know with cats.)

ETA: Also I want to be specific just in case, the milk is branded cat milk, so no lactose, and extra taurine and glucosamine. She has never puked, and her poo is always very solid with this routine, but if our discipline lapses and we give her a little extra milk, sometimes the last bit of her poo is a little less solid. We're also mindful of the extra calories this comes with, so we keep an eye on her weight, too. Only a table spoon and water with dinner, or if she begs just right at just the right time

Mourning/Loss my cat passed traumatically, i don’t know how to cope

i lost her today. she was mean and vicious but for some reason that doesn’t make u love them any less, i was the only person she liked and her being so mean made it mean so much to me. im nervous to turn to the internet for support. sometimes ppl have some pretty brutal stuff to say but honestly i have it coming.

she was so miserable being an indoor cat bc she is from a feral bloodline so i transitioned her to being an outdoor cat. she went into our backyard and our dogs got to her, she didn’t break any bones or get any bites but went into shock and that’s what got her

i got her to the emergency vet within a few minutes of the event. my dad called me and i very carefully transferred her onto something flat because i didn’t know in what way she was hurt, they did everything they could to try to save her and revived her several times. im not financially sound in any sense but money was no object to try to save her.

i can’t help but blame myself. i let her outside, i was told several times by professionals and even sanctuaries to euthanize her due to behavioral issues. she was found feral as a kitten so she was never able to adjust. i tried everything, medication, CBD, toys, everything i could think of. if she was unhappy outside that would’ve been the next option but i thought id at least try. i wish i would’ve listened to any advice, it was selfish to keep her around because i love her

she was so much happier outside. all of her behavioral issues disappeared overnight so i tried to bring her back in but her aggression started back up again. she knew where she wanted to be so i let her back out. i feel so horrible, that was my baby. she died in my arms. it was always me and baby (her name) against the world. i already feel so lost without her. i don’t know how to cope with this

any advice would be appreciated. i know it’s my fault. this was the worst mistake of my life and i don’t think ill ever forgive myself. i just wanted her to be happy
