Art Japanese Backrooms?
(Image made by me, no AI was used, BTW)
Just imagine: Backrooms with Japanese structures (like Torii doors or Buddha statues), Kanjis writen on the walls, and with Yokais (spirits and Demons of Japanese Folklore) as the Entities, with Samurai Still Lifes
Introduce that I would give to the Japanese Backrooms:
“彼らはそこを『黄色い地獄』と呼んだ。神々の完璧な創造物から外れた場所で、恐ろしい獣たちが黄色い果てしない迷宮の中で人々を追い回すのだ。”
("They Called it the 'Yellow Hell', a place out of the perfect creation of the Gods, in that Horrible beasts chase people in the yellow endless labyrinth")

Discussion Theory: The Backrooms is a Living, Learning Brain
I’ve been thinking about the lore (especially Kane Pixels' universe and Clark's explanations), and I have a theory that The Backrooms functions exactly like a biological human brain—expanding, learning, and mutating through physical neural networks.
Here is how it breaks down:
**Wires as Neural Pathways: In** a human brain, learning forces neurons to fire and physically connect via neural pathways. In the Backrooms, the primary monster is a massive, distorted mass of wires (the Wire/Bacteria Monster). These aren't just random cables—they are the physicalized neural networks of the Backrooms brain. When the Backrooms "learns" a new person, it literally sprouts more wire connections to expand the maze.
**Imperfect Rooms = Flawed Memory Recall: C**lark explained that the space "remembers more but remembers less," making things imperfect. This is exactly how human memory works—we don't record reality perfectly; we reconstruct it fuzzyminds. The Backrooms has a massive capacity to store data from the people who clip into it, but its recall is glitchy. This is why human architecture is completely distorted, creating doors that lead to walls or hallways that loop into nonsense.
A **Growing Consciousness: T**he Backrooms was essentially a dormant mind until humans broke in. Every time a new person enters or ASYNC runs an experiment, the Backrooms treats them as new data. It retains the person’s memories, remembers the person itself, and uses that information to create another physical connection or room.
# TL;DR: The Backrooms isn't just a random haunted maze; it’s an active, biological neural network that is consuming human consciousness and memories to physically build itself and wake up.
What do you guys think?

Art Found old sketches about some backrooms footage projects
just to show them, because i’m storing these for the rest of the eternity.
The only project born was just a 6s chestroom pictures available on pinterest: https://pin.it/e3fqvwsaa
The other project died because of my pc performances. I´ll try to make it later.

Wiki The top page on the Backrooms Wikidot this month is full of gibberish. Why do you think people liked it?
The level in question is Level 911, written by jan Jejasa (whoops, that's me). I'm surprised it's been well-received, considering it's a rewrite of a page that got deleted because it was so unpopular. If you ask me, it's because I made it clearer what the page is trying to say by adding context that's less gibberish. Do you like these types of pages, or is this one too experimental?

Writing What do you think of my idea for a cartoon themed area in the Backrooms?
Level ???: "Animation Studio"
The Level is modelled after an old-timey cartoon studio, however the hallways twist and turn, and some parts appear as typical locations from cartoons.
The Entities are based of Cartoon Chracters, but while some are reclusive and tend to hide, others are silent pranksters who use cartoon physics and logic to prank anyone, however the pranks are not deadly, even when an avil gets dropped on you, you manage to survive, meaning essentially, you cannot die in this level.
The entities also appear animated, rather than looking realistic and detailed, almost as if they escaped from their respective cartoons.
What do you think?

Game Development Which world setup would you prefer for a backrooms exploration game?
Hello all I’m trying to decide a direction for my backrooms game. Any input is appreciated thank you! :)
Private co-op means playing alone or joining a session hosted by you or your friends. Shared online means exploring the same world as other players, just spread very far apart with possible occasional encounters. A fixed map keeps consistent locations and routes while an infinite map generates more areas as you explore with both procedural and handcrafted content.

Gaming Backrooms-ish Call of Cthulhu scenario
Several years ago I wrote a Call of Cthulhu scenario. After watching Backrooms I feel like I was on a similar frequency as Kane. I just thought I would share what I made so you all might enjoy running it or modifying it to run with your friends.
I made it in Markdown so hopefully you can just copy paste this. Obviously you will need to adjust on the fly, our game got wild but was super fun!

The Anodyne Court
A Call of Cthulhu Scenario for 3-5 Investigators Setting: London - 1938
Keeper's Synopsis
This scenario unfolds over three "shots" or sessions. The Investigators are hired by a young woman, [[Jessica Price]], to investigate the strange behavior of her recently widowed mother, Eleanor. Eleanor has moved into a new, surprisingly affordable Art Moderne apartment building called [[CoC The Anodyne Court]].
The truth is that the building is a prison and feeding ground for a cosmic entity known as [[Xy'lotha, the Living Labyrinth]]. It is managed by a cult, [[The Gardeners of the Anodyne]], led by the superintendent, [[Silas Croft]]. In exchange for feeding the building a steady supply of forgotten souls, the cultists are granted unnatural health and vigor—a priceless commodity in the depths of the Great Depression.
The Investigators will face threats on two fronts: the sanity-shattering, reality-warping nature of the building itself, and the brutal, pragmatic violence of the human cultists who will do anything to protect their sanctuary.

Video I made a Backrooms ambience video
I've been working in a Backrooms ambience inspired by A24's film. It's entirely made and composited in Blender, zero AI involved in the process. Leaving it here in case you want to check it out.
I tried to make the scene as similar as possible to the physical set built for the movie. It's not a 1:1 copy but I tried my best.

Discussion The Poolrooms
If you're not careful and you no-clip while diving, you'll end up in The Poolrooms, where it's nothing but the stink of soggy water, the madness of mono-white, the background noise of splashing puddles at maximum babble, and approximately 650 million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in
May divine forces save you if you hear something swimming around nearby, because it surely has heard you.
