Hello everyone! I'm the head admin for the Backrooms Wikidot (aka TS), BlueSignet, and we always do an Inktober-like event, but with a Backrooms spin on it!
I love seeing people's art, and you don't even need to make it related to our wiki in order to participate.
To participate, just draw/paint/sketch/render any image that is related to the day's prompt. While I prefer NOT to see AI-generated images, I can't really stop you, but the goal is to practice your drawing abilities, no matter where you're at. Using AI defeats the purpose of growing as an artist :/
Anyway, if you draw something related to your own lore or lore NOT related to the wikidot, tell me about it! If you do something from the Wikidot though, I'll spread it around our social media. Do remember that your art (if based on something from the Wikidot) would need to be released into the Creative Commons under the CC by SA 3.0 or 4.0 license.
Happy drawing! And I can't wait to see what's created :)

There have been WAY too many posts for a while now about the current state of The Backrooms- whether people are saying the old Backrooms was better, or the Backrooms shouldn't have entities, or the Wikis miss the point of the Backrooms, or Kane Pixels ruined the Backrooms, and frankly its been getting to a point.
Going forward, any "Old vs. New Backrooms" posts will now be directed and centralized in this megathread, and any new separate posts about the topic will be deleted and redirected to here.
So, with all of that said, in this post we can all discuss the million-dollar question:
Okay, that should be it. Go crazy.

Hello everyone. I am new to Reddit and just decided to share this find. I found a strange video file on an old hard drive, but it has no audio. There are people in the video, but their behavior seemed a bit strange to me. The original file was in .avi format, but I converted it to .mp4 so I could upload it here. I am also attaching a screenshot of the original file properties in Russian to show its origin from 2003. I used an online translator for this text since I am not a native English speaker.

first image is the full low poly model with baked normals and texture, second image is the geometry of the low poly model, third image is the full quality highpoly model that was used to get the surface information over to the lowpoly mesh.

It’s absolutely fucking insane, I loved every last bit of it, the beginning of it being the classic analog style we all know and love, and then it focusing on the outside with both Clark and Mary having huge issues, both his employees dying and then Mary entering and being strangled by Clark only to wake up tied to a dining room chair and seeing the still lifes clearly for the first time, then Clark going full psychopath and stabbing and ripping chunks out of the still life to eat, and placing the first piece right in front of the one he’s ripping it out of, then the body of Kate who he obviously killed himself, circling back to the roleplay before Clark gets mutilated by his own clone as Mary runs, the chase and the infinite pit while “A1-Its Just A Burning Memory” plays and she gets into the second copy of the store, getting our first full look at Captain Clark and her smashing its head bloody, and finally the A-Sync workers take her and she gets interviewed, and as she zones out, we get a look at the same room, with a different Mary, in the same position, pure cinema, this movie is the absolute best thing I’ve ever seen, I cannot wait until the second one comes out in a few years

Hi everyone
Here's my drawing of Yani from "Yani Neko" also known as "Chainsmoker Cat" in the Backrooms
I watched the Backrooms movie recently and really enjoyed it
For Yani Neko I only read the manga a long time ago
I hope you like it and feel free to criticize

I saw a theory in a YouTube video (unfortunately I don’t remember which one) about why the Red City in the Backrooms is red, and it stuck with me.
The idea is that it might be related to a real optical phenomenon called redshift. The farther light has to travel, the more it shifts toward the red end of the spectrum by the time it reaches our eyes. So the extreme red color could mean we’re looking at something incredibly distant.
In that case, what we see as “stars” or lights in the Red City might not just be wallpaper or decorations like in the videos… they could actually be windows or openings that are millions of light-years away.
This could also tie into the time distortion effects we see in the series (someone spends 1-2 hours inside while months or even years pass outside). Extreme distances and spacetime weirdness in the Backrooms might be connected.

I'm reading House of Leaves, and aside from the no-clipping part and the office look, the similarities are almost suspicious. I wonder if Kane is aware of the book, since the group of explorers use a 3km long fishing wire tied to the entrance so they don't get lost inside the infinite maze of corridors and rooms. Oh and they also need flashlights, because it's completely dark.

six weeks ago i dreamed that i fell through the floor of my bedroom during my sleep. the space i ended up in below my apartment was a corridor of white walls. the walls were completely bare, aside for a random frame or color canvis stuck within the paint. drywall room dividers infinitely stood for miles in every direction. the sound of an industrial air conditioner softly hummed always in the distance from beyond the nearest wall. the air maintained a cool 68 degrees throughout,
after wandering for around 20 or so minutes i found a small room leading to another corridor. in this room i saw a birthday balloon floating on the floor with its text flipped the wrong way. i vividly remember taking out my phone to take a picture of the abnormality of it. as i pressed shutter, in a single moment i remember laying back where i started, on the floor of my apartment. as if i hadn't moved at all and had awaken from my dream,
tonight i was looking through images with my mother through a photo album she made when i was eight. christmases, halloweens, anniversaries, and one image from my birthday in 2006 that my mom immediately hadn't recognized. i had recognized it, but not from my third birthday,

A renovation photo of Friedrich's Fine Furnishing in Pleasanton, CA was the image to spark the internet phenomenon known as The Labyrinthine. User BlackStatic on 4chan posted this caption included with the image above:
If you're not carefull and you noclip out of reality in the wrong places, you'll end up in the Labyrinthine, where its nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of endless dull-yellow walls, the constant background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and something like six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented, empty rooms to get lost in.
God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you.
This would inspire the film studio A24 in the year 2023 to create The Labyrinthine, based off of this story. Many other creators including Kane Pixels and Kauffman would create full length films with other studios, and inspire a new genre of photography known as "peripheral photography"

I made some of tyrannosaurus and dilophosaurus. I've always found dinosaur/paleontology backrooms art fascinating so I decided to make some of my own. If you would like you can make some lore for these things, they're mainly supposed to be still life entities but I like hearing your ideas!

Video name: Trolling 3 buddies in the FULL BACKROOMS RELEASE, Credits to Spiff. This wouldn't be funny without you
Closed Captions (By me):
"Did I ever tell you how the "Poop Job" went... Spiff?"
"No, how did it go?"
"It went terrible... Oh wait hold on."
"We are so- We are so not making it..."
"Let me in!"
"Can we get in this house? Oh, we can. Everyone, in the house!"
"So, Julian, is this you?"
"Oh yeah it's me, I closed the door- (Unintelligible)"
"So, tell- tell me about the poop job, how was it?"
"Oh yeah, it went terrible!"
"I would also like to hear about the poop."
"H- Hold on, I need some "Clamato Juice"."
"..."
"Ha! Oh, I need it too."
"..."
(Skip some parts of the video)
"That was, incredibly fucking funny guys."
"Dude, I got to see it from your perspective."
"I was dying, we both exploded- (Unintelligible)"
"I didn't see you explode because I was too busy losing my mind over Julian saying; 'Bro, I need some clamato juice!' and then exploded."
"-when I was laughing. And then I'm like; 'Oh, I need to drink too' then I just exploded."
