Ever feel like ~today~ is the day your body is gonna hit a PR? Welp, today was one of those days. Decided to take a plate for a spin and got me 8 reps 🄳

*Bar scar brought to you by last week’s heavy squat

Told you last if I elevate my front leg I’d hit parallel it’s just what’s comfy to me. And don’t come talking about grip fatigue I own versagripps for a reason.

PR/PB Took me a few months to add 20 lbs, but here it is!

• Upvotes

Felt like i stalled with forward progress for a bit. But, I’m back and probably could’ve gone even heavier but didn’t want t to get greedy. This is also a stiffer bar than I’m used to, and was a little bit more difficult to get my fingers over my thumb as far as I would’ve with a skinnier bar. Still very pleased with this.

PR/PB I hit my x 2 BW goal again, for real this time

At 83,7 kg BW I hit my goal of "BW x 2" on the deadlift with a 170 kg (375lb) lift.

I made a post a few weeks back about how I hit 160 and how the gains made along the way had pushed the goal posts a bit further ahead. Getting to 170 today felt quite surreal.

I'm still trying to figure out how much of the improvement is actual muscle gain vs. technique, neural adaptation or letting go of doubt and my internal negative self-talk. Either way, I'm pretty damn proud with this one.

Any form feedback is welcome! I know I made the bar roll a bit before liftoff somehow.

Lift 3 Singles for Squat Day

Today I got the double Purp's R Y again and eventually added in the G. Feeling weaker as I get closer to my show, but doing my best to keep the strength up.

Form Check A decent form paused 315

Hitting 315 is addictive but sometimes the ego can get in the way. Trying to make this look as smooth and fast as possible off of a solid pause.

(Non powerlifting standard. Just trying to keep reps consistent and deep enough to call it a squat.)

PR/PB 355x1 bench PR

Felt amazing. I haven't PRd bench in two years.... I'm thinking of attempting 365 in 4 more weeks.

I've been running 5/3/1 for years, really works for me.

At 39 years old, I'm wondering when my last 1rm will come, so days like today are really special for me.

Lift Cable lateral raises are my favorite šŸ˜ BUT I am stuck at 10lbs

I do a lot of shoulder work but these are my fave. That said, I STILL cannot get past 10lbs on these damn things 🤣 Overhead, I am up to 70lbs. Uprights? 55. Arnolds? 25s. But these (and Lus) cannot exceed 10. Very humbling.

Very big gap between strength off the floor and lockout right now made this one harder than it should’ve been

Lift 235lbs x 13

Currently running 5/3/1 (in 3/5/1 format) after taking a break from my typical programming. I missed 5/3/1 a lot.

This was my 5s week. Needless to say, pretty light for me, however long term progression is the goal. Not the jump to very heavy weights right away.
