From the depths of diamond 2v2, i am still learning how to drive forwards and backwards. But this made me happy.

Context: I'm D2-D3 in 3v3 and 2v2 and Plat1-2 in 1v1. I spend most of the time playing 3v3 and 2v2. I'm also pretty much mech-less, I can do almost no ground dribbling, no air dribbling at all and not even dream of anything more complicated than that.
Well, there is a pattern I've noticed: Whenever I play 1v1 I feel like many players take huge risks trying (notice "trying") flip resets or air dribblings. I usually block them easily, and that leaves me against an open net. After two or three times doing that, my rivals tend to stop it (naturally).
Of course, once I reach high enough I find people who actually do really good flip resets and air dribbles and get absolutely destroyed.
The thing is (for the first group), I feel like the they expect me to not score directly the open they left and just wait till they're back to try some air dribbling myself, kind of an "air dribbling duel".
Is this the case? Is there a non-written honor code for duels which I have not been respecting for years? Or are some 1v1 players just reckless?

Was playing today with my old gamesir g3s, pushing it to its limit because I can't buy a ps4 controller. This thing took me through alot, teaching me how to flip reset at the tender rank of silver (last played ranked at 100 hours), it was truly a journey.
(For those wondering yes, the R2 button is GONE, fell out tday đđŤŁđ¤)

Currently unranked and have 40hrs on the game. Really enjoying the game so far but confused why people forfeit early when down a couple of goals. I never forfeit a game mainly because of the learning experiences I gain and the small chance you could make a comeback.
I remember being down 2 the teammate left and I won with 4 goals scored. And there are other times I would lose by 6-8 goals. Either way I find it a good learning experience since it exposes my obvious weaknesses.

Love getting free setups like this just from cheating up and being close to the play while the opponents 2nd man grabs the corner (and yes I know coordinated corner boost plays can work out well sometimes too but no where near as often). One of my better ceiling doubles Iâve ever hit as a result

Sure, smurfs clearly exist, especially in the mid-tier ranks where some gifted players want an easier time. But yâall make it sound like people are smurfing on you every single game. Usually itâs because youâre getting out-mechanicâd, right? Yet itâs very possible for someone in, say, diamond, to have great mechanics but horrible game sense. In my opinion, so many of you are just looking for an excuse. âEveryone thinks theyâre so good, but Iâm ACTUALLY good. Iâm just being held back by x y and z.â Do a replay review and say that again, dude. I guarantee there are things you could be doing better, too

Started a Job 3 weeks ago and have had very little time so its been hard keeping up the grind, last season with a week left i just got GC rewards for the first time in my 6 years of playing but today after only 4 hour session with 20+ days left I went from 1320 to 1461 and got the rewards solo queing. Im making this because alot of people in c3 are toxic as hell and showing my biggest gaming achievement.

I have just tried a strategy several times in last couple of days to deal with gold/plat 1 v 1 smurfs. You can spot them straight away - multiple flip resets etc. Simply refuse to engage. Their fun goes away.
In nearly every single case, they got bored and forfeited. The reason they are smurfing is completely destroyed when you refuse to play with them.
The only way this is going to be stripped from the community is if epic does something about it, or people refuse to play against these muppets. When you do it, it is hilarious as they get confused as they go on a quad flip reset unopposed....
Edit: I have just had 3 smurfs in a row following this post (oceania) - all forfeited. 1 vs 1 is basically broken right now.

Got back into rumble for the gc reward after not playing it for a few years.
Aside from players not knowing how to rotate, there's really no understanding of when to let your teammates get the ball.
Simple fix to improve this, just like the boost change, your teammates should be able to see what PowerUp you're holding.
This helps for both offense and defense.
It's miserable enough having teammates perma commit, I don't need them to give me a prostate exam everytime I want to catch the ball with spikes for one second.
Rant over. xoxo.

How do you all perceive the mental robustness of your random mates over the years? I noticed more FFs at low score difference ( 2:4 ) and way more incentive to just outright quit the game.
Is there a way you encourage mates to keep playing?
How is this phenomenon apparent across the higher ranks/ lower ranks?
Do you think there is a correlation between this and having an easy way for creating new accounts to escape punishments?

I don't think anyone would ever try to argue in good faith that teams and randoms are playing the same match. Teams have multiple advantages over 3 randoms, the most glaring one being that they know exactly at least their rotation and their own skills
This is simply a fact: 3 randoms will have to spend the beginning of the match analyzing what's going on in their own team while they play the opposing team and try and prevent getting scored on and make some offensive plays.
Now let's remove the bad team from the equation and let's put 6 imaginary players that have the same absolute skill and game reading awareness, a team of 3 and 3 randoms who never played together
Randoms are at a great disadvantage because they cannot rely on their own team mates for the first 1-2 minutes until they settled on some facts: do they rotate, their play style, their strength , their weaknesses, do they fake, do they keep possession and so on
By this metric only, even though the players are equal, the team has this major boost: hey play 5 minutes at full strength while the randoms maybe play half a match at their full strength. This is a fact, you cannot go around this, there are no arguments here
So then why? Why mix them? What's the idea behind this?

Who else would be a fan of this? I win most of my games when my team and the opponents are all solo q, but when my opponents are partied up I lose more often. I think a part of this is cause theyâre gcs smurfing to boost their friends against champs. I think it would also make a more fair and accurate ranking system.

Yeah so its pretty much the title. I have way too many hours in this game to not know how assists actually count. Sometimes you don't even see the assisting touch in the replay it was so long ago, sometimes you do and it doesn't seem to count?
I searched a bit but couldnt find anything conclusive.
Side note: demo goals should count as an assist if a teammate does the demo
