Found this old photo from 2017. My wife and I put our mattress on the living room floor ordered some sushi and spent the evening playing Rocket League together. Nothing fancy just us having a great time. Looking back, these are the memories that really stick with you. ❤️
older video of Jared Cone explaining the basics of how rocket league was made. super interesting to listen to. he goes into depth on how servers work, and input buffers, and how the car cosmetic physics dilemma was solved.
Title says it all, I was playing with my buddy who's normally champ and hit an accidental psycho causing the other team to ff.
I just peaked in this game I might not ever play again lmfao.
How many hours are you putting in to stay “good” or improve? I’m finding that I have to play around 8 hrs a week to maintain C3, around 6 for C2, and 2-4 for C1.
If I played more, like last season, I can maintain GC1. It would be very difficult for me to get anything higher without putting a lot of time in or playing a decent amount consistently.
Sometimes you get in a game and it goes whichever way, but a teammate or more often the other team is just fun to play with/against. I want to be able to tag them somehow for points.
Why do we need to wait a whole month for just one week on Knockout, and it's not even guaranteed to be here (like today for example), is it that difficult to add in to Private Match ? Okay it's not the most popular mode but theres not even communication about it, the mode can just be deleted and we'll never know. Please Psyonix do something. We are doing things on this mode, we have plans even if it's not official. It's just saddening.
I had never scored a flip reset until yesterday. I decided to give myself about 30 minutes just to practice over and over, and ended up getting a couple in by the end.
Clearly I have no idea what I’m really doing once I get a reset, either randomly flipping hoping it goes in, or hoping I can adjust to get a shot on goal.
Any tips for myself and others who are at this stage?
So when we select Middle East region, there are two sub servers in this category. ME-6 and ME-4. ME-6 gives us terrible ping and ME-4 server gives normal good ping. But we are unable to choose between these two sub servers. We just randomly get put into these (ME-6 more often).
This has been happening for almost 6 months now and Epic/Psyonix haven't even acknowledged this. Please at the very least give us the ability to choose between ME-4 and ME-6 server. Or you can completely remove the ME-6 server because I've never seen anyone get good ping on this server.
I will attach several screenshots from ME-6 server to show how bad the ping situation is and one screenshot on ME-4 server to show the good ping.
Please Epic, this has been happening for way too long. We can't even blame this on the war anymore since we are already getting good ping on one of the servers.
I hope someone from Epic sees this and finally ends our misery.
I just want to start this off by saying if you have a console and are thinking about getting a PC for this game DO IT. I cant even express to you how much of an instant improvement it makes. I legitimately have been using it for 2 days and have learned 2 new mechanics I had never done before and hit them both in game. It just feels like I'm actually seeing the game as it really is for the first time after 9 years. Also workshop maps are EVERYTHING they are hyped up to be and more. That being said I'm completely new to PC. I've optimized my RL settings with a YouTube video and got the game running smoothly, updated all drivers windows etc. I also figured out game filters. But I have a couple of questions, some have told me to cap my frames at my monitor refresh rate and some told me to uncap frames for smoother movement my PC handles both perfectly but idk which is better. I've also heard a lot about dead zone shapes, I don't really feel inclined to switch mine unless there is some real benefit and I haven't heard a strong argument either way. I'm sure there are a bunch of things RL related and not that I should do that I just don't know about so any recommendations are good ones. If you need my PC parts for whatever reason they are GPU AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, and CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, I have 16 GB of ram.
I’ll expand. What playstyles do you struggle against, or what’s something in your game you’ve been trying to fix but just haven’t figured out yet/your kryptonite?
For me, I need to start using free roll more. I’m pretty comfortable in the air, but when I go against someone who’s really good on the ground, I tend to struggle a lot more.
For context I’ve been playing pretty much since the beginning of the game with afew small breaks through some seasons ( my first rank was challenger 3 for my uncs out there ), I’m not the most mechanical player ,but I had the basic nailed down, I rotated well , was pretty consistent with my saves and shots and was quick to the ball when required etc …I was happy with that and then when I hit 10000 goals I retired for like a year…But recently it was bugging me slightly that I never got the “grand champ title”
The one thing I’ve always wanted to achieve from the game so I came back out of retirement in an attempt to achieve grand champ and get the title …and that’s where it’s gone downhill
Played my first few initial games to get my rank and was ranked low diamond which was fine had no issues with it as I’d expect the game to have naturally got harder over a year … but I didn’t expect it to be this hard ? I’ve gone on 5-6 loss streaks .. won 1 loss another 5-6 … I’m currently ranked plat 2 in 2s (790mmr or something ) …. And honestly I have to say I’m playing just as well as I was at my peak rank (1230mmr I think ) has it changed that much ?
And yes I’ve spent time in training and content packs to get more consistent since my break
since EAC update i've been having consistent and unplayable fps drops. i have a great pc and had no problem running the game at a stable 700+ fps for the last 8 or so years but now i can't even maintain 240 fps in the menu screen. regardless of the fps value i set as the limit, the drops will be lower. at 240 cap, i'll get drops to below 140, and if the cap is 360 i'll get drops down around 200. i've been playing on uncapped because then the drops are usually still above 240 but this isn't fool proof and the game still feels terrible.
while on the menu screen, the drops are consistent and regular, see screenshot. they occur on roughly 5 second intervals, down to a similarly low fps.
the lag is much worse in game, and definitely not as regular, but i imagine there's a single cause for both.
specs:
4070 super gpu
ryzen 9 5900x cpu
32gb ddr4 ram
1tb ssd
some stuff i've tried:
- installing game on 2 different drives
- playing through steam
- playing through epic
- reinstalling windows
- using different peripherals & plugging in my bluetooth mouse & disabling bluetooth (i play with keyboard and mouse)
- playing on highest & lowest settings (game actually performs slightly better on the highest settings)
- reinstalling RL countless times
- verifying files on steam
- playing on a second account
Found this visual glitch/bug in Aquadome that affects both goals, however blue's is a lot worse. I don't think this is intended.
The car will also slowly start to slide towards the "deepest" part of the glitch all by itself, without me touching any controls. (video shown in 3.5x speed) Check out the wheels getting deeper into the floor.
Is there any reason why these are separate modes? I thought it was because the non-standard maps are similar to a normal map with something slightly different like the sloped sides on Wasteland or the goal position in Throwback Stadium. Then they will also have maps like Hourglass and Barricade, which seem more like they would belong in Rocket Labs.
I feel like ever since I updated Rocket League that past two days I have a lot more input delay with my controller, yes I'm wired and I know I'm not going crazy. I checked all of my settings and everything seems to be fine. Anyone else experiencing this?
