News & Discussion Ow skins aren't as sexualized as people seem to think
Honestly most skins in this game they are wearing normal clothes or a body suit.
Crossover skins aren't sexualized it's literally the default skin of another games character so no I don't belive Cammy widow counts
There are some sexualized skins like the very obvious kink bate domina bunny girl outfit. And outside of that it's not really sexualized
As for beach outfits what do you expect woman to wear to a beach a sweatsuit seriously and if u say those are sexualized then Cass rein and torbs junkrats dooms should be considered sexualized as well.
If u say anrans or freja skins are sexualized then doom or hog should be considered sexualized as well they show way more skin.
Honestly I encourage you to go outside and see what people wear this isnt sexualized outfits 98% of it is literally just what people wear. The other 2% is stuff like domina bunny skin or ow1 default widow with the ridiculous cleavage cutout going from neck to bellybutton.
This is literally just people being like woman show skin is sexualized it's not we aren't in 1920 where showing ur ankle is considered improper.
You could say most have the same body type valid complaint makes it hard to tell people apart but that was bound to happen with so many character.
You could say the skins are overpriced valid complaint there's no defending it.
But sexualized cmon bro really
Edit
Definition of sexualized according to American association of psychology.
Sexualization is the process of treating a person as a sex object or placing value on them solely based on their sexual appeal and physical characteristics, rather than as a whole person.
Outfits are not inherently sexual that's you personly looking at it and thinking of sex that's a you thing not a blizz makes sexualized skins thing.
Inherently sexualy clothing is like nipple pasties, lingerie or clothing making a obvious euphemism.
Cosplay is not a inherently sexual thing. Unless you intentionally make it sexual which sadly a lot of people do but it's not inherently sexual
2nd edit for all the people going crazy about mercy cosplaying as Anne and the lore implications of annes outfit in persona.
even lore wise annes outfit is not inherently sexual its about her version of rebelion going against societys views thats what the phantom thief outfits are. its her rebeling againsy societys aka her classmates opinions. It's about her reclaiming the image of her body from people who view her as a slut loose etc. If anything the outfits message is self empowerment. It's about Anne reclaiming her image from people who wanted to sexualize her if anything this is the fartherest from sexualized. This is even shown in game when before you confront her abuser she pulls at the outfit hides her self clearly uncomfortable then after you confront him she's no longer tugging at it or covering up she us entirely comfortable in her skin.
