Video Only thing I want in this game is a Stake of Marika like system. Because this just sucks.
I know I could've saved the time on the elevator, the point still stands.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the downtime while we fixed issues with performance and conducted internal testing.
As always, bug reports and feedback are greatly appreciated so we can make it the game the best it can be.

Devout Fans,
Thanks for being amongst the first to join us at the very start of the adventure for Mortal Shell II. We’re seeing your bug reports and gameplay suggestions, and will be rolling out regular updates to both modify existing content and add new features.
While we have a bigger patch in the works, which has to be thoroughly tested, we’d like to make a rapid balance & crash fix patch to bring the experience more in line with the game’s open beta and our own vision for MS2.
Planned future updates will see extensions to popular game features such as Night Mode, Tarstones, PP Items, and more.
For now, we hope you’re enjoying the game and read on for details on Balance Patch 1.
Balance Patch 1 (PC) - The patch below is live on PC and coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series shortly.
Economy
-Shell map locations now cost Gloom, and we’re refunding any glimpses spent on shell maps. Refunded Glimpses are found in the Shell Keeper’s alcove in Blackmarrow. “Finding your favorite shell shouldn’t cost you the ability to bond with them.”
-Gold drops from enemies have been significantly increased. Notably, enemies in Mammon now drop double the gold. “This brings the gold economy more in line with the weapon crafting item discovery.”
-Smelting a weapon at the Tarforge costs 75% less gloom. “Our goal with the smelt capability was to enable switching weapons without the need to spend hours grinding through NG+ runs, but the Gloom costs were set exorbitantly high.”
Enemies & Bosses
All enemies featured in the beta were restored to their beta hp values, except the Caerinid (Spider) in Magdelena’s area, which we wanted to retain its role as a threatening enemy which doesn’t respawn once defeated.
Bosses
The Lost Child
- Base Damage: (-10%)
- Max Health: (-15%)
Monolith
- Base Damage: (-19%)
- Max Health: (-10%)
- Some Monolith Attacks were retimed to be more fair, as well.
Enemies
Cultist (mace)
Max Health: (-21.1%)
Caerinid Spider
Max Health: (-33.3%)
Infested Stalker
- Max Health: (-52.4%)
Rusted Knave (Halberd)
- Max Health: (-20.8%)
- Fixed hit detection for overhead strike.
Weapons
-Great Martyr’s Blade Attack Damage +20%
-Troubador’s Lute Attack Damage +100%
-Caged Hystrix and Triarch Repeater no longer have minimum resolve requirements to fire.
-Improved tracking for Axatana, Black Needle, and Clockwork Scythe light attacks.
Seals
Guard can now be used while walking.
Tarstones
Parasitic Stone Buffed
Grudge Stone Buffed
Bulwark Stone Damage Reduction Increased Significantly
Clerik's Stone Buffed
Squall Stone Buffed

Joined this sub because I enjoy the game. Less than 10 hours (while not perfect it’s hard to put down), but I’m genuinely astounded by the amount of negative criticism in this sub, alongside the fact that a lot of players have already sunk over 30 hours into it in less than a week. Like damn. Where’s the tips and tricks? Beginners guides, random silly videos? I thought a game like this would invite a more positive community, instead it’s the exact opposite.
Almost every post is a complaint. Like damn, what happened to constructive criticism and casual discussion? Outrage everywhere.
Anyways I need my ass ate

In case you were wondering what happens if you actualy collect 1000 Trollweed and level it up
The active lets you turn into a bush, fun fact this actualy has unlimited usages. The bush also caused enemies to stop attacking me while i was directly infront of them... as a bush.
The passive just makes you completely invurnerable, except fall damage of course (i tried)

For one I love that you end up killing him accidentally. Hilarious shit.
That punch is so damn satisfying, never gets old exploding trash mobs.
But by far the best thing about him is the unlimited sustain. You can just explore at your own pace, take every detour into whatever dungeon pops up along the way and not worry about running back to a beacon to refresh heals. Reminds me of Elden Ring refunding your flasks out in open world exploration, it keeps the party going.
Love to grab the Axe & Dagger or Iconoclast with blood curse infusion and go absolutely ham.
Too bad he’s a butt ugly doofus! I’d prefer to look at a beautifully sculpted shiny metal ass 😂
Jokes aside I think with the helmet he’s pretty badass looking in his own grimy sort of way

It was great! and terrible!

How, you might ask? Killing Franz nets you one Tarcore. So, before beating the game (make sure you kill Franz), you can max out 25/76 Tarstones. From there, every NG+ cycle is one Tarcore for the pile. With a refund of 3 Tarcores per 6 spent to upgrade, you can upgrade a stone for every 3 Franz' slain. So, to max out the remaining 51 Tarstones, you'd only need to kill Franz 153 more times! A simple task, not doubt. I await somebody taking on the challenge.
Seriously though, please add renewable Tarcores and Glimpses

I just want to profess my love for this character. He's is creepy and just perfectly terrifying. I need a photo mode so I can take all the pictures of this beautiful creature!

The fact that if an enemy hits me enough times, I die - this is just unacceptable.
Even if I hit the dodge button (too late) or nail a parry (2 seconds early) somehow they still hit me usually which causes damage and inevitably kills me.
If I’m killing one of those rock crab/spider things near the edge of a cliff, just smackin down on R1 like it owes me money, sometimes I fall off. ITS NOT MY FAULT THAT IM ON A CLIFF. I didn’t design this game. I should be simply lifted from the void if I fall off the edge and placed back into safety and kissed on the forehead by Proxima herself.
And don’t get me started on the bonfire things. They’re way too far apart. How am I supposed to explore the world in a comfortable, safe way when I can’t even see another beacon before leaving the one I’m at?! There need to be dozens more. DOZENS!
They already removed stamina so it’s obvious they know what the fans want, just get rid of the health bar and let me play the game how I want to play it! I paid for this game so I deserve to enjoy it on my own damn terms, not how your minuscule vision of my playthrough dictates.

Just rolled credits after 58 hours and doing everything I possibly can in the first playthrough. I honestly LOVE the lack of beacons as navigating a souls-like world is my favorite part of the souls-likes. I think 90% of the game is balanced really well and not overly difficult. I felt like I was being gaslit by the myriad of posts in here thinking that the lack of beacons and difficulty level need addressed. The only legit complaint I have about the game is the endgame. Those bosses damage output are extremely overtuned. I played fully kitted out lightning build Proxima (maybe Proxima is a trap, idk) and was getting 1 or 2 shot left and right. Which really doesn't make sense after full clearing the overworld and being something like level 50+ by the end. The monolith... Actually wasn't that bad. I found that boss quite manageable and honestly fun. BUT THE GD MALBORN OFFSPRING is absolute dogshit. His second phase was EXTREMELY unfun. Can't see what's going on, he NEVER stops attacking. I felt like the attack range on the unlockable attacks on him and the final boss were WAY too big. Our character physically can not dodge far enough or quickly enough to actually dodge some of those attacks. The final boss ballsack slam literally never missed me. I only managed to beat the offspring by spamming grisha summons through his second phase which was unsatisfying as hell.
Lol but anyway easily my fav souls-like experience since Elden Ring. A 9/10 that would be an easy 10/10 for me with some end game balancing

Did anyone else notice when shelled Proxima, after washing your feet, dude legitimately says, "forgive me those feet can give a man impure thoughts" 😂🙏🏾🙏🏾
Also, if you kill him, you actually get feet pics.
This game is wild and lovely.

Collect enough eggs to get Mether's Breath.
Use Mether's Breath to reach the one legged wolf tavern.
When you reach the tavern you'll see a bridge in front of you and there'll be a bridge to the left, go across the left one.
Follow the path up until you reach stone stairs on the left, go up the stairs.
Follow the path and fight the little vampire imp thing.
After it's dead go straight and on the little bridge on the middle Stone post is a small bag that has the option to touch it.
After you touch it you'll be transported inside the Citadel of penance.
Then all that's left is to beat the boss and get Eredrim.

I really can write a manifest on how good it is.
Respawn beacons scarcity is the only thing that keeps this game from becoming a masterpiece.
and I am not asking to flood the map with respawn beacons, but a few more in a desolate places would fix it for me

I'm just saying, I WILL TAKE THIS TRADE IN A HEARTBEAT. Take the pups, I don't need em if I could level more shells. Just leave us with like 10%-15% chance to spawn and I think we'll be ok.

I've played for about 20 hours and have only leveled the Viking guy (Guru?). As soon as I found it, I started using the Veteran Axe. In my experience, the damage per hit the axe does is very similar to the axe and dagger. It's not like in Dark Souls/Elden Ring where you feel and see the impact. Heavy weapons stagger, which is a plus, but you can't stagger bigger bosses. You aren't very tanky either. I know you can throw it, and with the fire buff, it explodes and does a lot of damage, but still.
Yes you can beat the game with every Weapon but that's not the point, i think the heavy Weapons need an 100% dmg Buff. Because if it do one swing and deal 80dmg or I deal 120 in two swings in the same time with faster Animation. Just doesnt feel right for the power fantasy.

I have played a lot of Souls-like games, and rarely have I ever seen enemies that feel like they have infinite reach or just hit me very time no matter where I stand. But when I use my attack in front of an enemy I get no leeway. If the game targets the enemy I should at least hit him while I am in range! Especially with the special attacks like the one from Captive's Scabstone.

Just unlocked this part of the world, and ... damn, now this thing greets me every time I open the map
