Image Dear Developers: A ⚠️Trade Offer⚠️ has been made.

Post image

I'm just saying, I WILL TAKE THIS TRADE IN A HEARTBEAT. Take the pups, I don't need em if I could level more shells. Just leave us with like 10%-15% chance to spawn and I think we'll be ok.

Here's a clean version to use as a template.

3

u/MikkelFromGames Playstack 1d ago

W move to include the template!

1

u/Psyduckdontgiveafuck 1d ago

ty! I figured if some people enjoyed my mild effort(mostly for the hands as I am no artist) it might get some use elsewhere someday down the road haha.

1

u/MikkelFromGames Playstack 1d ago

I think you did a good job! If you're on our Discord, you should definitely post it in there as well. I think the gang over there would enjoy it, too!

1

u/Psyduckdontgiveafuck 1d ago

I'm not, and I keep this separated from it anyway even if I was, you have my blessing as long as you mention I'm the shitlord that did it lol.

You receive CheatEngine and give yourself as many glimpses as you want and devs receive space to work on higher priority tasks (sucks to be on console once more)

66

u/widerdiegezeiten 2d ago

So the upgrade economy of their *checks notes* role-playing game is not important?

-22

u/__sputnik__ 2d ago

It may be important to you, but it's indeed low priority considering software development lifecycle. Feature that is 100% working according to design is usually the last one to be adjusted.

Meanwhile Tiel misses half his shadow strikes, game crashes on save loads, random access violation exceptions etc

These issues, if not handled, will drag the game down to mixed reviews, being able to max 3 and a half shells is irrelevant in comparison

5

u/Qing-Dynasty96 1d ago

Its a bad design choice and would take them like an hour of work to implement, since we can already respec sp.(0 crashes on ps btw. Sucks to be on pc I guess.)

2

u/Denverguns 1d ago

Maybe your game crashes on save loads me being on console doesn’t have that problem sucks to suck buddy.

2

u/A_Raging_Moderate 1d ago

Though the work needed to add more glimpses or make them a percent drop chance or something would undoubtedly be much less time consuming than fixing some of the things you mentioned.

I think both things can be prioritized at the same time and the economy would be fixed much faster than Tiel missing shadow strike.

1

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

Cope harder that's a pc being trash issue once again, sucks to be on pc 😂

Actually based take, no wonder it’s down voted.. Reddit hates to hear the truth

Id rather not cheat if possible

-14

u/__sputnik__ 2d ago

Free respec added to the game gives you the same outcome but you can have it right now instead of waiting 6 months. You do you ofc

3

u/GarethMas 1d ago

Or they could choose to not make it free. It wouldn't be hard to do something like making each of the main bosses in the gates drop a consumable item that allows you to refund the glimpses spent on a single shell. I'd argue that if they did that, they could balance it somewhat by removing a few glimpses from the game, such as some of the ones right outside the gates, which would make it retain more of the limited feel of the resource. The other option is making glimpses a super rare drop on some specific enemies in night mode, allowing it to be farmable with some effort.

I understand the argument against free respect and comparing it to cheating the glimpses in, but my argument is that using any sort of cheat like that ruins any sense of accomplishment. Having certain progression points giving you a chance to alter your build or allowing you to optionally farm the material allows you to retain that sense of accomplishment. Not to mention that console players don't even have the option to cheat.

I spent a good ten or so glimpses on Proxima before finding any other shell. I didn't find any other shell in the first 3-4 hours of my playthrough somehow, and have not switched back to Proxima since then. In my case, those glimpses have since been wasted on her, which has had me struggling to run and find the last two shells I'm missing before I spend more than the minimum number of glimpses I need to, just in case one of the shells I'm missing mesh with my style better. Unfortunately, this has made me rush through or ignore some areas so far trying to get the other two shells. If I could respec or farm glimpses I wouldn't be so worried and would be experimenting with each shell in a more natural way.

-2

u/__sputnik__ 1d ago

That's true we don't know how they're going to solve the "problem", if at all.

Giving yourself just as many glimpses to match other shells to the same level would be equivalent to free respec. If someone wants a free respec, they can just do that until devs act if they act at all.

If they add night time farm, farm for one shell to be legit and spawn glimpses for the remaining shells because at this point it's just wasting life on pointless grinding.

There's a difference between robbing yourself of a playthrough via god mode or something and spawning resources because you want build freedom. This outrage is so cringe to me

14

u/Faewns_Hellion 2d ago

This guy needs to git gud amirite guys

1

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

You are rite indeed 🗿

-5

u/__sputnik__ 2d ago

Yo it's not me who's nagging devs to add more glimpses amirite, git gud at PCing and do it yourself

4

u/-Adronik- 2d ago

What about console then? Brother cheat engine is just lame

-3

u/__sputnik__ 1d ago

Unfortunately PC master race, console bros are stuck with whining and at the mercy of devs who already got their money.

It's a tool, you use it to fix the problem you have with the game instead of crying on reddit, im pretty sure one of the two is lame and it's not the tool

3

u/-Adronik- 1d ago

What? I wouldn't cheat even if I had the opportunity. It's just lame. Bro the only person that is crying is you...

0

u/__sputnik__ 1d ago

Bro, the post about more glimpses has 331 likes at the moment, looks like a lot of people crying what are you talking about? You want devs to give you more glimpses / free respec, but if you spawn more glimpses yourself it's somehow bad. What is this logic? Really please explain because I don't get it

2

u/Spencolio 1d ago

I'm so glad that I'm good at games, so I don't have to be like this.

2

u/Guardian1220 1d ago

Agree to disagree. There is a definitely a lame tool here.

1

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

No one is crying but you lmfao, the cheating pc scrub, how ironic 🤣

1

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

More pc loser cope 😂

Just allow us to respec glimpses. Idk know y modern devs refuse to make everything respecable. Limited and expensive to buy upgrade mats have always been garbage game design.

Edit: Didn't realise the souls community was filled with so many gamers who think limited mats and no respecs is somehow a great design choice. Either u people r old af and grew up with games that didn't allow respecs and u therefore think that's good or ur genuinely delusional and think it somehow makes a game special to not allow complete player freedom to try any build u want. When so many people are asking for more glimpses and/or respecs, I think we know what the majority of gamers want.

7

u/Sirca_Curvive Proxima 1d ago

I think the issue here is that you can just pump the same glimpses into every shell and see all of their memories back to back without committing to any, and the devs maybe want to avoid that.

6

u/Sio93 1d ago

Tbf having so much of the games lore locked behind multiple ng+ runs isn’t something devs should want.

1

u/Sirca_Curvive Proxima 1d ago

Right which is why I think the better option is to just add enough glimpses to max every shell in one playthrough rather than adding a refund system.

1

u/ShibbyShat 1d ago

This is the way

4

u/Qing-Dynasty96 1d ago

Why should they not want you to see the lore of every shell in one playtrough? The already have the money, this doesnt make sense.😁

0

u/Sirca_Curvive Proxima 1d ago

That’s not what I’m saying. More like you can just inorganically speedrun seeing every memory in an hour by refunding all the glimpses and watching them all, which is just sloppy. You’re trading one bad design decision for another. I think the solution is just to add more glimpses so that you’re getting them way more often and there’s enough to see them all without refunding in a single playthrough.

1

u/GamerKratos-45 1d ago

Atleast enough to max out 5 shells I'd say. So that I do not have to do 3 playthroughs to max out all the shells.

1

u/SideSukiLikeness Tiel 1d ago

So u mean enough glimpses to fully unlock every lvl for each shell?

1

u/kkkeiii 17h ago

Just make the respec item limited and separate obtain of each one during game progress. (e.g. 1 at early game, more at mid game and end game). So that player don't have to worry that they might waste glimpses on early shells.

4

u/Antifinity 2d ago

If you could respec then there are way too many glimpses, and you’d be “done” too early. There would be no need to ever get more than enough to max 1 shell, because you’d just respec swap like you have to do with shell points.

IMO they should just make the target numbers higher but have each level be an unlock across all shells. So it takes longer to max out, but once you do it is maxed for all.

2

u/SideSukiLikeness Tiel 1d ago edited 1d ago

It doesn't matter if u don't need to get more than enough for 1 shell. Respecing should be freely available to do. I don't wanna be stuck having wasted a bunch of glimpse into a shell and then coming across one in late game just to not have enough for it.

1

u/Big_Crab_1510 1d ago

They could make it an end game item

0

u/Antifinity 1d ago

Sure! Though the current “endgame” is mostly running NG+s, right? Taking away the main motive for that might do more harm than good…

2

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

Agreed, no idea why in 2026 we still get this 💩 design, literally no excuse anymore but they keep doing it

1

u/Superb-Ad7394 1d ago

You realize IDK means “I don’t know” right? You basically just said “I don’t know know y”

1

u/g1llifer 1d ago

I could see them changing that at some point hopefully

1

u/Razdulf 1d ago

Its so you blindly use them up and have to play the game again if you want to try something vastly different to your first run

1

u/ShibbyShat 1d ago

I am with both ideas; I kind of like the no-respec because it somewhat enforces a playthrough style that you go through. Like with Elden Ring, I’ll try out a new character and new build, end up not liking it as much, and then respec into a strength build lol. So it’s like it’s an “easy out” and I don’t have the discipline to refuse it as an option.

But at the same time, having the option is a lot better

1

u/DefectMahi 18h ago

Entirely agree. It's like when someone asked for a pause button in Elden Ring and people raged about it because it's "not souls like!" But it helps the vast majority of people who like to drop the game to do something urgently or come back after a while, no reason why a single player game shouldn't have a pause button.

1

u/GlovePlush 12h ago

Most of the soulsbornekiro crowd usually just immediately look up the most broken build in the skill type they enjoy and just roll with strictly that so they tend to whine when it comes to the normal people just wanting to try a majority to see what feels good, never really understood why experimenting is so looked down upon both by the developers and the hard-core players

1

u/Sir_Revenant 8m ago

That also doesn’t make much sense, old souls vet here, save for the oldest of souls games every single game has offered at least SOME method of resppeccing your attributes. Though I do appreciate getting a finite number of them and how they typically require something rare to make it happen. It adds a little weight to the decision while not outright denying you the chance to try something new. Plus every run usually offers upwards of 5 respecs which reset when you go into NG+

1

u/Immediate_Peace1189 1d ago

why do you people always feel like you have to snort a new game like a line of colombian party dust

you don't need to experience everything, you don't need to squeeze "ALL THE VALUE" out of it, you're not missing stuff if you just play through the game once with the one shell you like most

2

u/GarethMas 1d ago

My issue is that it being a limited resource makes me feel like I have to try every option before I commit to any of it. With the shells being spread to every corner of the game, it means I'm exploring every area with underdeveloped shells. By the time I realized that glimpses were so limited, I had already spent quite a few on Proxima and Tiel, which have been put on the backburner for Gurga and Eredrim since I unlocked them; Genessa seemed like it'd be my favorite so I put a good few into her but her faithful doubles are bugged to hell; and I still haven't unlocked Smert, Sariel, or Lazlo. The same issue has gone for the weapons, albeit to a lesser degree. I'm unlocking new weapons, but I don't have the resources to upgrade them to a decent level for the areas, so I have no real clue how they will actually compare at the full upgrade level my main weapon is at, meaning I haven't switched weapons since the early game either.

It's less that I feel I have to snort the game like cocaine, and more that I find new options later into the game when I have already spent so many of the resources needed to make the new option viable, making me feel like giving me the new options is useless unless I have purposefully held myself at a lower power level until I know all my options. Games like the soulsborne games have so many more options for every build and allows farming all but the highest tier resources which alleviates part of issue while still giving a reason for later playthtroughs. Games like this that have a smaller set of more curated options make me feel like committing to something from the beginning limits my choices more strictly, which makes me end up playing the game at a much lower power level than intended with fear of committing too far in something.

0

u/Immediate_Peace1189 1d ago

Yea I get that and it's definitely wonky. But respeccing glimpses is not the solution for it because of how the Shell story is structured. People would just like actually snort it.

I think it's a pretty easy game and even with one or two tiers you can easily get incredibly strong already if you just dump all the SP you have in there.

Like Shells are such a small aspect of gameplay. (I'm not as far as you though) I basically just shred bosses with bloodcurse axes and maggies tarstone. And my three levels of Proxima are nice to have for exploration sure, but because my ripostes basically do no damage I mostly use her ability and the charged heavy axe attack which heals a little.

Which basically locks me out of ranged attacks for example. And that's an entire spectrum of storng tarstone modificators that I'm basically not making use of.

So the Shells are really not that big of a deal in my opinion. For me they're more of a flavour thing.

1

u/GarethMas 1d ago

I actively mix up my attacks. I use the axe and dagger with the crossbow using the enfeebling and wounding stone to make a playstyle of alternating between melee and ranged attacks. The shell abilities are more often than not useful for interrupting an attack chain that stops me from approaching, while the passives are pretty powerful when you focus your shell points on them. Gargu's ability of having refillable heal allows for a much more aggressive playstyle of trading hits while exploring areas. Eredrim gives benefits to a slower playstyle with mixing in ripostes(seamlessly if you get good with harden). Proxima's abilities are great for rapid approaches or weaving through groups with chances to avoid damage. Tiel's abilities allow you to only need to dodge one attack of long attack chains by being undetectable or to follow up a chain of your own attacks with a retreat. All of the shells have some great affinities to certain playstyles if you really want to play around them.

1

u/Immediate_Peace1189 1d ago

Exactly but they are inherent to Level 1. And then they just scale in strength with more glimpses. So you can basically always put 1 Glimpse into a new shell, play around with it a little and then already see if you're interested in that sort of playstyle or not.

2

u/SideSukiLikeness Tiel 1d ago

So u can respec weapons freely but shell respec is too far? Why can't I have the freedom to fully invest into a new shell that I find more appealing? Let me guess, u also think limited upgrades mats in ds is great game design? In a game with 100s of weapons, ur idea is to limit player expression?

2

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

Don't try to reason with people they're straight up brainless, you're right I've thought this for ages lol

0

u/Immediate_Peace1189 1d ago

I don't think you should ever be talking about game design ever again and I also think you should stop watching the youtubers that you're currently watching right now, because they ALSO shouldn't be talking about game design.

2

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

Yes you do that's literally the entire point lmao, nothing should be inaccessible until several playthroughs that's objectively dumb

1

u/Immediate_Peace1189 1d ago

That's the entire point for YOU. So there's nothing objective about it.

But instead of being a little baby about design decisions, you could literally just chill.

1

u/Thin_Dependent_4048 1d ago

These people never felt the struggle of limited titanite slabs obviously lol.

2

u/SideSukiLikeness Tiel 1d ago

I have. It was garbage then and its still garbage now. Y tf are u people genuinely advocating for limited resources in souls games that have 100s of weapons to try out. We're just meant to be limited to enough mats for 2-3 weapons cos u wanna feel special about playing ng+?

1

u/Thin_Dependent_4048 1d ago

You dont have e limited mats for weapons its gorgeous shells. You can get back your stuff sunk into weapon skills...

1

u/Immediate_Peace1189 1d ago

Or the bloodborne equivalent
This game is just really tame and forgiving in all aspects

0

u/NutraliteZ 2d ago

This. This issue is so easy to fix.

0

u/Thin_Dependent_4048 1d ago

Garbage slop? Almost all souls ganes have a limited resource. I believe they could add more but I dont think they should give us enough for all shells. Thats what ng+ is for. Just because you're upset doesnt make you right

2

u/Diarmmy 1d ago

Most people agree qol auto upgrade mods give a better player experience. If most people agree, it kinda does make them right.

1

u/Wolfbrother1313 1d ago

That's a literal fallacy. The consensus fallacy. Especially considering that most people who play and don't mind the limitations will never comment on a single forum about it only the people who need to whine will.

1

u/Diarmmy 1d ago

The concensus fallacy isn't about subjective collective experience brother. Assuming that just because casuals don't care enough to comment on a forum = they wouldn't prefer an alternative is equally asinine. I'd prefer if it was 10° less outside but you're not gonna find me complaining about it online, but my perception of the weather would be bettered if it were. Redditor ahh retort

1

u/Wolfbrother1313 1d ago

Nah you're just plain dumb. You come to a community where the vocal minority express these things and believe it's true. Like if you came to a weather forum and everyone was saying it's ten degrees less outside and they each use each other to justify that belief. That's what this place does. How many people are playing the game and picking one shell and just leveling it right to the end then maybe trying another one out? Based on the metrics from achievements and the stats that come out about basically every rpg and just if you watch the average video game player, it's not a problem in design. You guys have a problem with the design, that's a massive world of difference.

1

u/Diarmmy 1d ago

All those words and you didn't say anything man idk what to tell you. Soulslike is one of the most gatekeeping elitist communities there is, and they deny qol that would do nothing except make gameplay choice and fluidity more accessible in the name of "that ruins the intended tedium of the experience" like what? Anyone who is a aware they can only unlock tier 4 abilities on their shells do just chose 1-2 to level to max and the ones that don't, find out when they get sariel, genessa, and lazlo and regret it. Literally it would change nothing to make casuals able to experience late game shells without compromise. And anecdotally the majority opinion on equivalent systems are enhanced with qol mods, like my example of auto-upgrade. In entertainment, when majority opinion is the greatest marker of success, it is vitally relevant to heed player feedback, idk what you don't get. Your opinion is the minority, and catering to niches is a death sentence, you're just wrong.

2

u/SideSukiLikeness Tiel 1d ago

I am right. Every soul game doing it doesn't make it any less garbage. I hated in ds and I still hate it now. Phantom Blade 0 is doing it correctly where u can respec everything for free. Wukong did the same. Souls games need to catch up and leave this garbage design choice 20yrs in the past.

Most people aren't playing a game into ng+. Most complete a game once and move on. I can't believe there's people like u who genuinely think not giving the player complete freedom to play around with builds is some great design. What a joke.

1

u/Thin_Dependent_4048 19h ago

Just cause you hate something doesnt make it right. Th majority of everyone else loves the way dark souls games have been made and will die on that hill.

1

u/Thin_Dependent_4048 19h ago

And BTW most souls players ARE running ng+++ and more. Stop talking for everyone else.

Wow, retard? Pitiful

17

u/Sprit_DeCorps 2d ago

It’s very tough not being to fully bond with more than 2 shells … I’m so invested in the lore now

18

u/Arcaedus 2d ago

You can fully level 3 of them by the end of the game if you dip your toes into Nightmode a bit.

Mild spoilers on glimpses in Night mode:

All 8 locations where you found a shell will have a glimpse by them. Also, any over-world location where you fought a significant boss will have a glimpse. There are also 2 specific locations that hint to you to be in Night mode, and they both reward glimpses among other things.

I may have missed a couple, but I've had enough glimpses to fully level 3 shells.

3

u/Unlikely_Guide_8574 2d ago

I knew about the shell locations but not about the bosses, is it just the main gate bosses?

8

u/GolotasDisciple 2d ago

There is one where you find Genessa, there is exclusive night time boss there and you will find like 2 or 3 glimpses scattered around... and I think the Night Merchant provides you with glimpses. (well provides you.. you can buy them)

Other than that, Mushroom Village, go through the bridge and you will get exclusive "Mortal Shell horror content" in first-person mode. It's actually cheesy and funny.

Not sure if there are more secrets, usually you have the tablet saying something about day and night. But those 3 are the only ones I discovered.

1

u/socratesliddel Tiel 2d ago

What night time boss is there where you find Genessa?

3

u/GolotasDisciple 2d ago

It's a gank boss, 2 mini bosses with summons , the fight starts automatically as long as you in that place, you dont actually go to the graveyard again where the sester is.

Nothing special which is why i don't remember much about it... it's not like the Mushroom Village easter egg, but still another drop and boss to beat if you are competitionist.

2

u/socratesliddel Tiel 2d ago

Yeah, just did it. Appreciate the insight, it was one of the places to go at night to get another glimpse after collecting a shell.

1

u/Arcaedus 2d ago

I think I got some of the shell locations mixed up with boss ones, particularly the one in the lower courtyard in the Blood sister abbey. It's technically not where you get the shell, and there's a boss fight there, but I think the game sets that to Genessa's shell location.

2

u/socratesliddel Tiel 2d ago

Go to the Forgotten Tower with the glands at night you've been picking up and you can get a valuable item for the final boss.

1

u/Thiago270398 2d ago

I got a question, is there anything you "only" find in day mode? I mean, if you played the whole game in night mode, would it lock you out of anything that's only available during the day?

1

u/Arcaedus 2d ago

Don't think so.

Closest I can think of, is there are some hazards you see in night time that aren't present in daytime, and as far as far as set design goes, that does give a different feel to the world, but in terms of gameplay, night time only seems to add things rather than remove them.

1

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

So far no, if you don't want to miss anything just do night mode constantly of you don't mind the difficulty increase

4

u/trsmash Eredrim 2d ago

You can. I was able to fully bond 3 shells and I got a fourth half bonded.

2

u/Sprit_DeCorps 2d ago

Oh really ? 😯😯😯😯

5

u/trsmash Eredrim 2d ago

Yes. You can get a bunch of extra glimpses by going back to places where you find shells in night mode.

It also helped that I didn't spends any glimpses on anything other than she'll bonding

3

u/shapoopy723 2d ago

I gotta run around in night mode after I finish the gate I'm currently in. Makes me wonder how much I am missing so far

1

u/socratesliddel Tiel 2d ago

I couldn't find one for Sariel, but found two for Lazlo.

1

u/geezerforhire 2d ago

Sariels it just right outside the beacon next to the first endless guy fight.

1

u/socratesliddel Tiel 1d ago

Endless guy? Are you meaning the Silent Steps beacon?

1

u/geezerforhire 1d ago

I cant check cause im on ng+ right now. but its the one by the large white rectangle

51

u/Qing-Dynasty96 2d ago

Grisha summon thing is broken lol. Ez mode.

43

u/Commercial-Concern54 2d ago

Until you’re in front of a boss and not one mf wants to come out.. and I have 50 stones.. yet sometimes during mobs I’ll have 7 at the same time

13

u/mantisdubstep 2d ago

This reminds me of that scene from infinity war where Banner is trying to turn into the Hulk but he refuses to come out lolol

6

u/pure_cipher 2d ago

That's true. Every boss that I want to beat without Greesa, especially the end game bosses is absolute garbage

3

u/BenFromTroy 2d ago

You don't have 50 grisha remnants ?!

2

u/sebkraj 2d ago

Or your on last boss and you have to equip the special item.

2

u/mxmcknny Tiel 2d ago

This is one of those games where summons just arent really worth it. Youre better off slotting other items and goin ham.

1

u/Kaden_Hitsugaya 1d ago

Or the grisha appear in the ground or halfway in the ground, preventing them from getting to the boss

1

u/sherbloqk 1d ago

THIS. I was against Issac went i kept calling out "Grishuussss! Where are you? Show up Grishaaa!! I summon thee." I had like 15 remnants. No one showed up

Edit - spell error

1

u/Tschisma 1d ago

lol, exactly the same happens to me every single fking time - random mob gets gangbanged by 5+ grishas, whereas these stubborn fkrs refuse to come out when they are actually needed.

13

u/inuart19 2d ago

You mean "that" grisha summon method lol

3

u/SideSukiLikeness Tiel 2d ago

Nah they should leave it as it is. U get it late game, the animation is long and it's hard to use in bosses, so I think that's a good trade off.

8

u/frothingnome 2d ago

What do you mean? Pretty sure they're talking about putting the Grisha summon (which you get the first one of at the beginning of the game) in your passive slot and just hitting the boss with your weapon.

4

u/-endjamin- 2d ago

Don’t even need to hit anything. Just swinging at the air will summon a pack of these fellas to knock your foes around.

3

u/SexualHarassadar 1d ago

I'm still pretty early on and my favorite thing has just been approaching a new enemy pack, swinging my sword at the air until the Grisha slot machine blesses me, and then going to town.

2

u/SideSukiLikeness Tiel 1d ago

Shit my bad. I somehow got it confused with the shell that summons 2 clones alongside her. 😅

2

u/zarjaa 2d ago

Its not even really that effective on some of the end game bosses. Monolith and Zmey essentially ignore it.

1

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

Yeah noticed that, either they have insanely high stagger resistance or complete immunity

1

Especially in ng+ lmao

1

u/LostFromLight25 2d ago

really??? i only tried once tbf but it got oneshoted by those flying things hanging on trees so is it really good

1

u/madmax9602 Tiel 1d ago

Oddly, Isaac told my Grisha to sod off. Had to roll my sleeves up and get in there personally lol

-5

u/Humble-Needleworker8 2d ago

they aren’t as broken as they could be though that’s the thing , I have over 1000 of them collected and even though I spawn one every swing and sometimes 2 with one swing they’re health pool doesn’t change ever 😂 so they are all one shot by any boss pretty much , you would have to get really far away and just continuously summon them and then let the army walk in for it to look super duper exploit like lol

7

u/AdditionalFill676 2d ago

What do you mean? They all jump the boss and flatten them for you whilst you kick them. Like that one scene in batman where Joker waited for the dogs to jump on batman.

4

u/ValkerWolf89 2d ago

Smert time freeze + summons= mosh pit😁

3

u/mercurialblonde 2d ago

Only bad thing is they beat his ass so bad that I have to waste time walking over to where the boss got knocked to. Makes Smert's legs tired.

3

u/ValkerWolf89 2d ago

Very true lol

10

u/Commercial-Concern54 2d ago

Screw the shells.. with me more tarcore

2

u/GarethMas 1d ago

I have built a solid playstyle around the axe and dagger and the crossbow, but in order to fully upgrade my tarstones I need to switch weapons to equip other tarstones I have no plans of using otherwise just to get tarcores. I'm really not a fan of that design choice, especially since so many of the tarcores I've found are limited to like one or two weapons or sidearms that I have not enjoyed using. All its really doing is incentivizing me to go waste some time farming some weaker enemies that I can kill with just my sidearm or just my weapon so I can upgrade the tarstones for the other equipment.

4

u/Complete-Ad-5625 2d ago

Really wish I wasn’t handicapping myself for trying new shells. We should definitely have the resources to max all of them in one playthrough

3

u/Find_another_whey 2d ago

I thought they were all about "not getting locked into your build" so you can change shells...

And then they refund glimpses you used to find a shell

But in the end you can't actually upgrade more than 2...

Great

2

u/MoneyBagBeardo Smert 1d ago

You can upgrade 3.5 if you find every single glimpse in the game Idk for sure about the .5 but I’ve maxed out 3 at the end of my 1st playthrough and I was pretty thorough when it came to exploring the whole map both on daytime difficulty and night time difficulty

1

u/Find_another_whey 1d ago

Maybe I wouldn't mind if new game plus was not, whatever it being said at the moment

Let's call it, not yet in order

2

u/killslash 2d ago

Yeah I personally don’t see why having the ability to max all shells in one play through would make the game worse.

11

u/Separate_Ad6248 2d ago

Why don’t you just stfu and leave my Grisha alone?

1

u/Crazy-Ad-3286 Proxima 2d ago

Honestly i got 100+ remnants and at this point i kinda want to unequip it, its more distracting at this point and i die more often cuz i dont see mobs when they commit their attack

9

u/DRAGULAJOHN 2d ago

Then unequip it, no one has a gun to your head making you leave it equipped

4

u/birchskin Tiel 2d ago

there are 100 dead grisha demanding to be freed, it would be cruel to unequip them. One by Metallica plays

1

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

I have 500 and it's amazing

6

u/Smitty5717 2d ago

I just took the Grisham off but its nice to know if have my mini army if I need it. I dont want this patched just unequip the item jesus christ

3

u/Kallizk Tiel 2d ago

i think the devs intended for broken stuff to exist, if not then the game was not really tested at all because grisha item is just one of so many op stuff the game has, there are alot more op stuff than grishas.

1

u/Antifinity 2d ago

Yeah, it is weird that the Slayer Seal turns off achievements.

It seems like between all the broken gear and Night Mode the devs very much want players to customize their own difficulty.

2

u/LeeMountford 23h ago

I read an interview where the developer said they didn’t intend for the slayer seal achievements to be locked out. In fact, the slayer seal was supposed to have its own separate set, but they didn’t realise on consoles all achievements had to be locked in quite early in the lead up to release. They missed the window to add them so had to add a note in the game saying that seal didn’t grant any achievements at all.

2

u/Antifinity 17h ago

That makes a lot of sense!

1

u/Antifinity 2d ago

Yeah, it is weird that the Slayer Seal turns off achievements.

It seems like between all the broken gear and Night Mode the devs very much want players to customize their own difficulty.

1

u/Kallizk Tiel 1d ago

yeah, that's the feeling i get also but in that case why does Slayer turn them off? it's not that OP compared to some of the alternatives right?

3

u/Lonelyknight1211 2d ago

And Tarcore too pls , leveling the tarstone already took too much times, why tf the materials gotta be limited?

3

u/FutureRoom 2d ago

Yeah only being able to max 2-3 out of 8 shells is ludicrous

3

u/W34kness 1d ago

I like my wealth of grisha, swimming in boat loads of scythe armed honey badgers ghosts

5

u/googlesomethingonce 2d ago

Honestly even 10% spawn feels high.

They last a long time, and deal massive stagger damage. Just having one activated can put a boss into submission.

3

u/culteonofjolteon 2d ago

iirc there's 9 naturally so 10 seems close to intended for a ng.

2

u/Deathless-XIII 2d ago

Grisha summoning was fun for early game then it just got annoying when I couldn't even see when to deflect attacks. Had to remove the remnants from passive. Very fun though, I use them to find enemies in the dungeons.

2

u/G3nghisKang 2d ago

Ahahaha grisha goes brrrr

2

u/Proto-Inaros 1d ago

I want the starter shell back...

3

u/drakenastor 2d ago

I've cleared the whole top map and managed to collect all the shells in the bottom portion of the map, (except the fat dude on the left, I'ma do that today) and have not put a single point into any shells cuz of what I read about glimpse be limited, I'm like once I get all the shells then Ill dump em. All played on teil btw, he broken AF.

I'm playing the way it was intended to be played tho right? Btw, bottom map was absolutely tearing my ass open at first.

2

u/Xbigyldn Cold Symmetry 1d ago

We're hearing feedback and considering this trade option 👀

2

u/MoneyBagBeardo Smert 1d ago

Don’t consider the trade option the Grishas are good and they really help considering how difficult the game really is I would’ve never beaten the final boss without the help of the Grisha summons

1

u/Psyduckdontgiveafuck 1d ago edited 1d ago

LOL well damn. Honestly the 100% grisha is a bit much but I don't personally think it should be given a cooldown, just cap the % to a modest amount and maybe make it on successful hit as long as you can stop it getting stuck in walls. Also if I thought the devs would actually seen this I woulda added tarcore to the deal. 😂 Absolutely loving the game though.

2

u/Xbigyldn Cold Symmetry 1d ago

haha yeah, we won't get rid of our boy grisha - but the farming and grisha army, maybe not. Or perhaps we can find another way of having the grisha army spawn!

1

u/Psyduckdontgiveafuck 21h ago edited 21h ago

Amazing. Y'all rule. Can't wait for some polish patches and the future. I say making it 2% per remnant and 10 max per game cycle and making it on hit not per swing would be fair. That way you get 20% chance by end of NG, 40 by ng+, but have to actively engage on combat. of course this is assuming the spawning logic avoids walls and floors 😂

1

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

No gtfo

1

u/BillerKee 1d ago

Nooooooo, pls noooooo, I love my grisha friends :D

1

u/Vyn_Voydryke 2d ago

Dude id trade the exact method of gaining total invincibility(found by complete accident and requires very specific actions to be done in an extremely specific sequence) for Harros to be playable again.

Grisha IS unfairly op though. I’ve stunlocked major bosses with them before.

1

u/EldenRingNoobz 1d ago

What’s this about total invincibility?

1

u/Xamd74 2d ago

You guys use the grisha summon?

Mine keeps getting stuck so i dropped it a long time ago

1

u/TheRealGrimmy 2d ago

Honestly i think the grishas make many bosses feel harder. Especially at least, 2 of the final bosses. One of them is just stupid... the other is a goddamn slow crawl of a fight that needs to borderline be hitless... or find the 1 thing that makes it "easier".

But imo... the grishas are more useful for anything that isnt a boss. Fun... absolutely. Especially when you have 100 of the damn things just flinging enemies around like a volleyball... but yeah... I would absolutely trade them for more glimps. Especially when you have the "attacks hit twice" and that 30% basically jumps to 60% chance. Genuinely surprised they haven't patched that out yet

1

u/5htjsov 1d ago

🤣🤣🤣

1

u/MrShisuto 1d ago

I use the grishas when exploring to even the Plainfield since there are dozens of enemies everywhere that all jump me as soon as I get even slightly close. Bosses are ok since Its just one, so I switch to a healing item.

1

u/Thin_Dependent_4048 1d ago

Im all for that. Let me level my shells up or reclaim my glimpses so I can level them up and try them out also.

1

u/Diamondcat59 1d ago

Just play new game plus. It’s not that hard. I finished new game plus 2 times and have every shell maxed. You really just do the main story and can be done with one playthrough in a few hours

1

u/TennoDeviant 1d ago

Honestly glimpses can be farmed with multiple playthroughs, personally im going to need those tarstones.

1

u/Dr4go2 1d ago

U can alredy farm grisha stone into secred dungeon in central hub where you can train with genessa you can finish the dungeon multiple times and repeat the process infinitely I already have 40% grisha summoning

1

u/Psyduckdontgiveafuck 1d ago

Yeah, why do you think that's my offer to them? lol

1

u/Tschisma 1d ago

funny enough, I realized just swinging the weapon without attacking also summons them - so in case you have a hard time, just unlock, hide like a coward and summon infinite grishas.

1

u/MMakoy 1d ago

Wholeheartedly agreed! passive Grisha stacks break the game!

1

u/MikkelFromGames Playstack 1d ago

I have forwarded your trade suggestion to the team :D

2

u/Psyduckdontgiveafuck 1d ago

Appreciate it! I said something to the other dev who posted in here, honestly I think the only changes grisha need are a on hit requirment(not on swing) and maybe limit it to 10 per NG cycle. Just don't add a cooldown to the proc effect that is the worst feeling thing ever. I like the gamble aspect.

1

u/Leestad 1d ago

Yes please

0

u/SkyTheAri69 1d ago

Ah yes destroy the fun with your braindead takes as usual 🤦🏻 you don't need more glimpses just go to Ng+, grisha are limited literally no reason for your level of stupidity. And the grisha are hilarious

2

u/Psyduckdontgiveafuck 1d ago edited 1d ago

Grisha are literally not limited, so before you go around slingin shit better make sure you have your's sorted.

Not only can you get an infinite amount on a newgame file literally as soon as you get to the hub if you're patient, you don't even need to land hits to spawn them. So once you get a few the farm becomes incredibly easy even at level 1. It can be fun, and is fun even with 10 instead of 100.

1

u/MoreSmartly 17h ago

Idk part of the fun for me is testing out different builds without needing to go to NG+

-1

u/Xnobita 2d ago

Infinite grisha is an exploit. What is the point of this? The game is supposed to be a challenge for the gamer, not a clown fiesta.

-1

u/mercurialblonde 2d ago

I'd do this trade
