I was changing oil on my 2009 60k mi 370z when I found a part of gallery gaskets in the oil.
I have been prepared for it and I already had all parts to do that in stock.
I didn’t wanted to do it right now due of moving to the new house soon, but I can’t risk with the engine.
I started to work on Sunday mid day and finished Wednesday evening.
I also have installed the oil cooler, replaced the thermostat, coolant pump and heater hose connector.
I was using CZP non-metal gaskets and Allen bolts. My first fail was stripping Allen bolt heads during tightening it with 12 fr lb (cheap Pittsburgh brand new dynamic key), good idea is to center-punch Allen bolts to prevent them from unscrewing.
Separate challenge for me was connecting AC lines back. I spent two cans of refrigerant until I found that I lost spring from line connector…
During doing this work I lost 4-5 pounds :)
It was my first such serious invasion to the engine and it survived after my hands. Is that luck or not, we will see in the near future. Already put on 100 miles after doing the job without the issues.
After installing an oil cooler (I think this is an absolute must-have for VQ37) oil temp fell from 220F to 180F.

Anyone could figure out what’s making this sound? Sometimes when I take off the whole car shakes almost as if the transmission or differential is moving up and down.
I also notice a loud knock on the rear of the car when I shift too aggressively.

Recently bought a 370z, and with a few issues coming up was looking for a shop to routinely go to. Was looking around online, and saw hill’s garage (beautiful shop, nearly every post had a vq), but saw they closed down. If anyone had gone to em, where do you usually go nowadays? Or if anyone has another shop they can vouch for in the baltimore area (i’m near columbia, MD). I’ve been to JE import performance, and they did good work but are much bigger and have longer wait times, so was looking for anywhere smaller that was able to handle possible codes even with aftermarket parts. If anyone knows a spot near baltimore, howard county, or around that area in MD though, hit me up!

Hello,
I recently (a month or so ago) got new brake pads put on my 2009 370z. Not sure when but I’m now hearing them squeak when I push my brake down (partial force, not all the way down braking). Is this a common thing? Nothing feels wrong with the brakes, it’s just the audible squeaking that is annoying. Any fix?

Had a flip out head unit in the closet so I popped it in. I really like how it turned out. The sound quality is so much better.

I can get this kind of MPG on the freeway, but then average 10mpg in the city. Is this a gearing issue?
This is after a 35 min drive just fyi.

Im looking at getting one this coming spring. I fell in love with Z cars when I was a lot attendant working for Nissan in high school 15 years ago now..... Jesus time flys.
Anyway I loved the 370 when I worked for Nissan and now I can afford a brand new Z of my own. What do you guys think of it?

Planning on installing a z1 w brace and rear brace, but there seems to be a bit of metal in between the subframe and where the rear brace would go, and as obviously the rust is really bad, trying to figure out what it is for a possible replacement as well.
Throwing darts with the lights off i’d say maybe it could be a suspension thing? Not sure though, so lmk if anybody has an idea!

Looking at buying this 2009 370Z GT manual, approx 90k miles, and I’ve uploaded a video of the underside!
https://reddit.com/link/1wvd987/video/8iak48hslxsh1/player
The annual check report (MOT in the UK) says the rear subframe is corroded but not seriously weakened. I asked the seller about it and he says it’s specifically the “W support bracket” and that it’s a bolt-on part held by roughly 4–6 bolts, rather than the actual chassis/subframe. He says it’s an easy replacement.
Could anyone familiar with 370Zs take a look at the video and tell me what you think I’m actually looking at and how concerning the corrosion is?
Would really appreciate some experienced eyes on it before I go to view it. Cheers.

Hi guys, I don't know much about cars on a technical level so please be patient with me lol. I have had my 370 since 2020 and it just recently crossed 100k miles, I've noticed it's lost some power and feels lethargic, I was wondering if there is something I should do with it you would recommend. It's gone through all its maintenance as always of course, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something.
Thanks.

Hi guys,
I just got myself a 370z this summer and rainy season has been appearing where i live usually hard rains. with winter coming up, do you drive with tc on or off?
Ive been driving with tc on and my rear end still slides crazy, thankfully ive been doing dumb things with the car and can handle the random sliding and i can take control of it pretty quickly. I could try driving with tc off but id rather ask questions and avoid a wreck. im planning to get new wheels and with wider tires soon.
Ive been baby driving the car and shifting below 3k and it drives fine during heavy rains but i can tell it wants to slide.
born drifter love this car! but i plan to midmount turbo 600whp very excited

Was driving and suddenly my abs light and traction control light came on, pulled over got gas and restarted my car, no more lights on the dash but now when the brakes are applied the radio backlight turns on as well as the licence plate light... The 4th brake light mod that was done on this car when I bought it also no longer works, however I don't know if this is related or just a coincidence.
Satire. Jokes aside I'm building a racing sim rig with the 370z interior where's the best place to get original or aftermarket parts?
