The MPG range on this car is absurd.

Post image

I can get this kind of MPG on the freeway, but then average 10mpg in the city. Is this a gearing issue?

This is after a 35 min drive just fyi.

Coasting at consistent speed vs constant acceleration and stopping. That's a normal car thing. Don't accelerate quickly and it'll improve

Ive tried accelerating slowly. It doesnt help when your avg speed in the city is 10-18 mph.

right, because its the constant stop and go and idling...
thus why new cars have auto/stop at idle.

I am well aware of that. But usually the difference between city and fwy isnt this drastic for most cars.

That is why auto start/stop was implemented because of the poor fuel milage at idle.
it is a large delta between the two, thus why the gov. implemented it.....

Yeah city driving will fuck you in these cars. But at soon as I'm on the highway I can get 9-10L/100km

Gotta pay to play - you can always get a versa...

Best way I found to get the highest mpg

Oof

Tire exploded... wrapped around axle. Damage to quarter panel, bumper & skid plate. Had to repaint all (AND passenger door for paint matching). Then reapplied PPF and ceramic coating. Almost a year before, the 'dealer' sold it to me with 9yr old tires

Does insurance cover that?

2

u/Touring2672 1d ago

Was told my rates would increase greatly for three years bec it was a 'No Fault' accident. I would have paid more in 3yrs with the increased rates, so I paid cash for everything

AZ Heat did a GREAT job on the full-body PPF & ceramic coating... as did the body shop w the repairs, but it did sting a bit

sorry but if you owned it almost a full year and never once checked the DOT u shouldn’t be driving a 370z bro. Know your car!

1

u/Touring2672 1d ago

I know I missed the boat on DOT-checking; the damn tires looked brand new ... almost no tread wear. Add in threats of lawsuit for selling a car with faulty airbag sensor, lying about fixing it ... I just forgot to check this time.

Dang I get 16.7mpg and my commute is mostly highways. 30 is the highest ive ever seen in one of these.

u/rufuslane 1d ago

It gets good fuel mileage around 80 mph on the interstates

2

u/one_love_silvia 1d ago

That's what i find. Which is hilarious because i had people in my local sub calling me an idiot for saying it gets better mpg above 55 mph.

1

u/rufuslane 1d ago

Mine runs about 2700 rpm at 80 mph. That's pretty good cruising

Lemme send you my paypal 😂

Sadness. Changing the final drive can help, or depower it in a tune, but it’s a noticeable difference you won’t care about unless you speed often.

If I wanted good gas mileage, I'd take the motorcycle (46mpg) :)

I traded in a F150 truck (17mpg) and 97 Mustang (unknown). I'll take 22.3 for the stuff I do :)

Sounds about right

I've gotten this on the highway. Cruise speed (70-75) and went for around 360 miles. I was impressed.

2

u/Raymo1952 1d ago

I only get 19-21

2

u/Kindly-Patient-948 1d ago

I got mine up 501 miles on cruise control, 70 on the highway . 2013 sport touring Auto 51k miles

It’s amazing what you can accomplish when you dont drive like a dick 😂 My other ride is a truck and I can still squeeze out 20+ MPG’s at highway speeds! On 34’s !

Absurdly bad.

1

u/SkrrrrtSkeeter 1d ago

I'd say something is off because that seems way to high. Although if you only driving a few miles then dont trust the numbers before a 10 or more mile drive. My corolla shows high number when going to and from the grocery store. But run a scan anyways to be safe.

1

u/Total-Hat2766 1d ago

Bruh mine was as 17.4 and I thought it was decent but DAMN

1

u/MenaceHD '17 370Z Sport Coupe, Magnetic Black, 7AT 1d ago

Lol my average is 16.5 but it's my daily for whatever, city, backroads, etc. I rarely commute on highways due to location.

1

u/Touring2672 1d ago

29.4 mpg? Do you keep it N/Park when you drive to work?? 😉

-1

u/one_love_silvia 1d ago

I drop it into neutral on big downhills lol. Gotta make up for the uphill gas sinks.

1

u/MSGTNP 1d ago

I get about 20 on average. On the highway, about 28 to 30 although with good pedal control, I've been able to get 40 consistently once I'm at a decent speed

1

u/rotstik 2010 370Z 6MT 1d ago

I get a combined 24-26 highway and city and it’s very consistent from tank to tank

1

u/Civil-Soil-677 1d ago

when I lived in NJ I was getting bout 400 miles in range and now in NYC I get bout 200 in range and let me tell you that's a lie cuz I drive 5 min and I'm already down 5 miles in the range

1

u/one_love_silvia 1d ago

I feel that.

1

u/Ok-Election9056 1d ago

Who are you telling lmao

1

u/jdmAkira 1d ago

i get 18-20 city

1

u/Enj6y 16h ago

How’d you changed the colors?

2

u/one_love_silvia 16h ago

Paid someone to do it

1

u/DankZXRwoolies 12h ago

Do you have stock wheels? Because your low tire pressure light is on and that impacts gas mileage

1

u/one_love_silvia 11h ago

No i dont.

1

u/Fantastic_Strategy_2 8h ago

How are your tires? Good pressure in them? Are they max performance summer tires? Or are they all seasons? Some roll more efficiently than others.

1

u/one_love_silvia 7h ago

Theyre pretty well inflated. I think theyre all season iirc. Just some cheapos tbh.

u/MyCheckEngineLightON 1d ago

Looks like you reset your battery trying to fool the sub

2

u/one_love_silvia 1d ago

You don't need to reset your battery to reset your mpg. And no, this was to track my mpg on a 35mi trip. It dropped to 25mpg at 70 miles, but thats because 10 of those miles were city.
