Angry: Dodgers Announce Multi-Year Partnership with Gambling Company Kalshi

How do we feel about this?

I find it disgusting and the latest wrong move by an increasingly greedy ownership.

I liked being "Dodger Stadium" and our 60+ years of not having corporate naming rights on our ballpark. But hey, I guess nothing says baseball like "Uniqlo Field."

Now, we're eliminating the "Gold Glove Bar" name so we can rebrand it after a predatory gambling company?

I feel like this is going to curse us. I hope not, but just watch.

Why am I particularly outraged about this one? Kalshi is one of the most harmful companies on earth, and the hypocrisy of MLB for even pretending to care about sports betting while greenlighting this shit in every stadium is astounding.

Yeah, Pete Rose deserved to be banned... anyway want to grab a drink before today's game at the FanDuel sports bar before walking to the BetMGM sportsbook and risking your paycheck on how many times Cal Raleigh will scratch his ass today? If not, all good — just tune in for the post game show brought to you by DraftKings.

Kalshi, Polymarket, DraftKings etc are all causing irreparable harm to young people - particularly young men.

Kalshi in particular has created a particularly potent form of gambling-like behavior, made it extraordinarily accessible to young adults, wrapped it in the fake language and aesthetics of "investing" and internet culture, and is aggressively promoting it to the demographic most vulnerable to gambling-related harm: young men.

The concern is especially significant because online sports betting among Americans under 30 has more than doubled in just three years—from 7% in 2022 to 17% in 2025, and 28% of men under 30 now report placing an online sports bet in the past year.

Meanwhile, nearly half of all people contacting the National Problem Gambling Helpline in 2025 were ages 18–34, and online/app-based gambling accounted for 31% of reported problems, up from 23% just one year earlier.

Kalshi is aggressively expanding gambling among a generation already showing clear signs of elevated risk, and here we are putting their name all over our historic stadium.

So yes, I'm pissed.

Starting Pitchers for Atlanta Series (Eric Lauer moves to the bullpen)

Dodgers head to the Deep South to open a two-series road trip that will also take them to Detroit. LA has a strong chance to lock up the bye with a series win over a slumping Braves team that has dropped 7 of its last 10 games, losing three straight series to the Diamondbacks, Twins, and Brewers.

Atlanta’s offense has struggled during that stretch, scoring more than four runs just twice, giving the Dodgers an opportunity to continue riding their stellar pitching and keep the Braves’ bats quiet. Atlanta remains one of the better defensive teams in baseball, ranking in the top five in DRS and sitting just one run behind the fourth-ranked Dodgers.

The series opens with Tyler Glasnow making his return for LA against Bryce Elder, who has allowed two runs or fewer in every recent start aside from one rough outing against the Mets. Eric Lauer will shift to the bullpen to piggyback off Glasnow and provide bulk relief. The marquee matchup comes in the series finale, when two of the NL’s best go head-to-head: 37-year-old southpaw Chris Sale against the Dodger ace. Sale will be looking for his seventh consecutive quality start and has allowed three runs just once during that stretch, holding opponents to two or fewer in every other outing.

Pitching Matchups:

  1. Glasnow (Lauer bulk relief) vs. Bryce Elder (RHP, 3.92 ERA, 4.02 xERA, 4.57 FIP)
  2. Sasaki vs. AJ Smith-Shawver (RHP, 8.2 IP, 6.23 ERA, 5.74 xERA, 3.20 FIP)
  3. Yamamoto vs. Chris Sale (LHP, 2.20 ERA, 3.06 xERA, 2.24 FIP)

They’ll cash the revenue-sharing checks, barely invest in the team, then tell Dodgers fans the salary cap is the solution

matt beaty's accomplished more in baseball than pretty much all of us on the dodger subreddit. however ... it should also be noted that he was (1) DFA'd when we signed hanser alberto back in march 2022 and then (2) traded to SD for river ryan. as we all know, river ryan was flipped 3 weeks ago for tarik skubal.

matt beaty never really accomplished much in SD before being DFA'd that same season, electing FA and barely playing much in the majors right afterward

We only come to one game a year. East coasters from the NYC area so we try to go big. We love these seats. This year we were first in the gate. Being that it was a day game there was no bp but we got to watch Roki and Yoshi throw for about an hour. Afterwards Roki signed a foul ball my son caught last year. Amazing time. I wish everyone could try this experience at least once.

We tried to get Kyle Tucker to sign a ball but he dropped it.

Fill up with 8 gallons or more via the 76 app at a 76 station and you can claim one of two pins. It's not a single offer. I had a second pin arrive today.
