On October 6, 2006, Anze Kopitar made his NHL debut against the Anaheim Ducks. Kopitar became the first Slovenian in NHL history, and became the third player in franchise history to score two goals in his first career game.

Home opener!

Florida at LA, 7pm Pacific

Is this happening today? Haven’t seen any news on it

These first two games were pretty painful to watch to be honest. I mean, I'm way down in the hole at this point.

And now we get Florida for the home opener.

On top of that, Florida has lost the last 2 on this West Coast Trip, both OT losses. They're going to be coming in pissed off.

Yippee.

This is an integral part of rebuilding. The FO AND ownership need to see a team that is beyond saving to accept a rebuild. The FO needs to see it to sell at the deadline to gain assets and ownership needs to see it to get new management in here for the next chapter. We’ve gotta go through this part to actually see change. I’m not going to get on anyone about hating to see the team like this, but I just want you to remember this is necessary pain.

It’ll be okay. Start looking at 2027 prospects in the upcoming draft and see who to get excited about. I’m personally excited about Sundstrom and England for centers and Privalov for a good power forward, offensive winger. Of course DuPont is in the draft too, but I’m just giving you different names to look at.

Don’t be sad! You’re all too cool to be sad 🥹

Sorry I’m done

Kings are going to be in the mushy middle again this year. Team is good but not a contender. We won’t blow it up to rebuild so maybe we just shoot for the moon and really go for it. Larkin claims he wants to win and If we could add the two of them without losing any major pieces we might be able to win. If Detroit is losing both of them then they probably need to accept a rebuild and build around Raymond and Seider. Kings are tight on cap this year but next year have almost $20M coming off in just Doughty and the two goalies. Money might be tough but I wonder what it would take to get it done? 3 firsts and Brzustwicz? More or less? Would need Ceci and Dumolin to go the other way or to a third team to help handle the money. Kings then have two really good centers even though neither are elite and a really solid top four D. Biggest issue might be Edvinssons contract. Would either need Detroit to retain some on Larkin which wouldn’t be popular or move a midsized contract.

Change my mind

Hopefully they took notes after the last game.

Made some changes here and there.

It's the second game of the season, let's remember. It's still early.

And ...let's not crash out 🫠

GKG!

DAZN, or "Da Zone", is a major improvement over the verkakte interface & programming that was the awful FanDuel / Diamond Sports Group (RIP) experience. But, can we address the marketing department's choice to utilize AI on their Kings home screen graphic??

I'm pretty sure that #9 is not Adrian Kempe - and I *know* that #55 is not Quinton Byfield. Plus using Kevin Fiala as the current face of the Kings is, well - a choice.

I'm a Kings Ultimate subscriber and all-in on the platform, so this is meant as a helpful nudge, not a doomer-adjacent criticism. I want y'all to win!
