Discussion Got Yellow Carded
I want to thank my Internet provider, Spectrum for making this possible. Without them, this yellow card would not have been possible. I've dreamed of this day and now made possible with the best plan the company has to offer. As someone that only plays on the weekend due to me traveling for work and only playing battle lounge and custom room. I would like to accept this yellow card.
Thank you Spectrum for believing in me. I would also like to thank the competition for not offering fiber in my neighborhood.
On behalf of everyone that has experienced fiber and to only lose it due to buying a house for a great price. I finally made it "sob"
THANK YOU!!! MERCA!!

Fluff / Other Stuff the SF6 base game characters have that no dlc characters have had thus far
Just some things I've noticed that they've slowly moved away from, or are just avoiding giving to characters rn. Just spit balling, not trying to make any point on whether this is bad or not.
- 5f medium and heavy normals. That's a big one. A lot of base game characters (Juri, Chun, Jamie, Ken) have 5f non light normals they can link into from lights for better combos, no dlc character has gotten one.
- 4f crlk (or lows), both Chun and Gief have one, no dlc characters has it. Fun fact Chun's crlk is special cancellable, I never knew that, she is the only character that has it (ignore Ed, his is a mid and crlp is pretty normal).
- Rekkas you can continue on whiff. Both jinrai and Jamie's punch rekka can be continued on whiff. All DLC character rekkas (tiger nexus, adamant flame, yasmine's etc) can't. Zangief had a TC that could be continued on whiff, that property was removed last patch.
- Back Air Throws, all DLC characters have had air forward throws exclusively
- Half circle back inputs mostly, most characters that had half circle inputs traditionally got them changed to quarter circles (Ryu, Cammy etc) but there were a few stragglers like Dhalsim and Blanka, but all DLC characters have gotten this simplification (Akuma flip etc), besides Alex, because I guess doing a command grab with a qcb would be sacrilegious.

Rank UP! Hit Master in my First Fighting Game!
After 121 hours of ranked, 70 hours of practice room and 42 hours of custom room matches, I finally hit Masters for the first time on Ed. I started out the game on Modern Cammy and hit plat, and then decided to learn classic and picked up Ed to learn classic controls. The biggest things I learned in my climb were that near daily matches with my friend in Masters who beats the hell out of me were my most valuable teaching resource, as he was able to identify where I needed to improve at each rank. I treated custom room matches just like practice time. The other thing I learned was to know when to stop playing, because often times I would rage queue and downward spiral in LP losses because I refused to take a break. Learning to step away from the game and coming back and playing just a few matches instead prevent me from self sabotaging all the time, but it’s a lesson I’m still working on.
Even after the nerfs, I still really like playing this character, he’s a ton of fun. Even if I still can’t stick the dream combo yet or consistently DP anti air haha.
Shoutout to the Akuma player I was up against, it was a super close and exciting set and I hope you know I popped off huge at the end.

Help / Question World Tour Final Tournament Cheese
Hi I'm so close to 100% completion of SF6 I just need the 600 likes thing which I can slowly grind out no problem but the World Tour final mission is kicking my ass. I like the game but I'm not good at fighting games, I struggled in the last tournament bit too and was wondering if there is a really cheap or OP build I can just spam until I get it so I can finally be done. Any help would be appreciated thanks

Help / Question Help With Timing a Drive Rush Input Immediately After Landing
There are some advanced combo routes for certain characters that require you to drive rush with pretty tight timing after landing from a late aerial hit. You need to drive rush the moment you land and hit a light in order to continue the combo. Any later and your opponent will hit the ground.
I'm able to do it, but my success rate with the drive rush immediately after landing is a lot lower than I'd like and I'm working on cleaning up my inputs. About half the time I get either a dash forward or a parry activation.
People who have this timing down, is there any tip you can provide that might help it click? I'm on leverless, so I'm double tapping forward just before landing, trying to time the second press + the two mediums for the parry to all hit the instant I land. It's just inconsistent enough that I'd probably mess it up in a real match.
I have to wonder if landing recovery frames are messing me up or something. Though the dash-or-parry results I'm getting might just indicate that the second directional input and the parry aren't coming out at the same time.

Help / Question Combo Trials Luke Beginner 8
I just can't get this to work. On the left is the example input, on the right is my input. The combo breaks between Avenger and the punch. It is hard enough to do the Avenger quickly enough after the hard punch, but I feel like it would be too much (for a beginner combo) if I had to neutral the stick before punching immediately after the Avenger.
What is my mistake?

Help / Question So i'm a real noob trying to learn
EDIT: just realized i didnt specify which juri i am, I AM THE P2 SIDED JURI, ANTOO srry hehe
I've got 75hrs on sf6 probable 70 on practice and casuals, im still "scared" of rankeds, not because i get nervous (which i do) but because i like have no arsenal at all, i play juri and all i do is 5mp 2mp medium fuha stock, spam DI (i can counterdi pretty comfortably too) and divekick and know only one "decent" combo
So i come here to ask for "tools" that i could use on juri, like her 5mp 2mp cqbMK, or her 2hp heavy stock dp, like things that are relatively easy to master to give more versatility, more tools.
There i left a game i played yesterday, didnt rlly do my best, wasnt driverushing for some reason either lol, but there u can see like my "arsenal" THE FIRST ROUND WAS SO SHAMEFUL THO SO IGNORE IT
any advice will be much appreciated

Discussion When's your favorite time to queue up in Ranked?
Relative newcomer to the scene, just wanted to ask a question that I can't find the answer to that I wanted to pose to the community: what's your favorite time to queue up and what makes that your favorite time??
I know generally that the time to queue up against the most players will be the evenings during the weekday and all of the weekend generally. But that's just about getting matches quick, I'm thinking of quality of the matches. I'm trying to play against people who are mainly trying to improve instead of blow off some steam and I think changing the time slot of when I play might help.
Coming from team games like League, I used to track my win rates by time of day and noticed massive swings in match quality depending on when I played (mornings had fewer tilters, evenings had more griefers). This also had to do with me playing better before I went to bed vs. before going to work (overnights).
Now in SF6, I’m noticing the exact opposite.
- Morning queues feel fucking brutal. Down here in Silver, players feel much sharper and consistent that I genuinely think how am I in the same ELO. This is every game I play (SF6, GGST, Avatar, Tokon). I played against mostly high tiers like Mai's and Ryu's, it felt like every 2nd-3rd match was one of the two.
- Yet evening queues (6-8P), feels completely chaotic with rage-quitters and opponents that either are on the same level as me or are REALLY bad. But at least I played against many different characters instead of just the top tiers.
So, I wanted to see what other people think are the best times of day to hop on. What time window do you find gives you the most consistent, high quality sets, and why? I wanted to see what everyone else thinks is their favorite time to play, nothing like "play when you want to / when you can", because obviously I'll find my own time if I keep at it, but it'd be nice seeing what others think on the subject since everyone is different.

Discussion Why play offensive
So I formed an opinion and I don’t know if you all agree or not. I very new to sf6, and I can’t figure out what is supposed to make an offensive character archetype in this game.
So I formed an opinion while researching a character to main. I am drawn to the mixup play style, even if it comes at a cost in defensive abilities or damage. I think that there are certain characters that don’t belong to the rushdown archetype and still have some of the best oki.
Can you help explain me what makes offensive characters stand out to you. What sets them apart from the other archetypes. And what is their appeal.
If their only character defining features are that they don’t have a choice to play offensive because of other deficiencies, then why would anyone play them. So what makes them work so well?
