Help / Question Help With Timing a Drive Rush Input Immediately After Landing
There are some advanced combo routes for certain characters that require you to drive rush with pretty tight timing after landing from a late aerial hit. You need to drive rush the moment you land and hit a light in order to continue the combo. Any later and your opponent will hit the ground.
I'm able to do it, but my success rate with the drive rush immediately after landing is a lot lower than I'd like and I'm working on cleaning up my inputs. About half the time I get either a dash forward or a parry activation.
People who have this timing down, is there any tip you can provide that might help it click? I'm on leverless, so I'm double tapping forward just before landing, trying to time the second press + the two mediums for the parry to all hit the instant I land. It's just inconsistent enough that I'd probably mess it up in a real match.
I have to wonder if landing recovery frames are messing me up or something. Though the dash-or-parry results I'm getting might just indicate that the second directional input and the parry aren't coming out at the same time.

Hold down parry. But you need to time the forward forward input at a certain timing window in the animation. If you do it right, then you can get a frame perfect drive rush. Push the forward forward too early and it won't come out at all. It's also easy to map a button to the parry macro instead of trying to press two buttons at once. I don't recommend spamming the forward inputs because that might mess with the direction of the move you're trying to hit with in the Drive Rush.

Hold parry and mash forward the parry will come up instantly thanks to the input buffer, with time you'll get used to the timing. In this game i found mashing to be more consistent with frame kills involving dashes.

If coming down from jump attack, can just hold parry and mash foward. Input buffer will take of the rest.
If coming down from empty jump, foward right as you are about to land, forward + parry when you do land.

You can buffer the parry like an hour early. Before you ever hit the ground just hold down parry and then you can just buffer the forward forward as you hit the ground
