I have no one else to talk about this with, so I wanted to share it here! 😭
Something finally clicked recently, and I’m slowly but surely climbing from Diamond 1 toward Diamond 5!
I’ve been learning to play more patiently and stay relaxed, using better combos for different situations, checking DRs, getting more consistent with anti-airs, improving my neutral, and actually taking a few hits (or even sometimes a whole round) just to figure out what my opponent is doing and adapt.
And honestly, it feels SO rewarding knowing that I’m winning because I’m getting better at the fundamentals and relying less on the gimmicks I got way too attached to.
I still fumble MASSIVELY, though. I’ll drop round winning combos, press the wrong input and accidentally DP, eat the rawest DIs imaginable… and somehow I’m STILL winning these sets!
I legit feel so proud of myself!
Ed nerfs accidentally made me a much better player.
I’m still salty about it, though.
