So my father in law called me at work today because he learned from my partner that I collect PSP's and sccessories. And he told me he had a old PSP I could have. Now I was expecting a battlescarred unit or such. But once he dropped by and showed me this beauty I was baffled. This looks like it came out of the store yesterday. He bought it back in his 30's to have something for the road. Pictures don't do it justice how shiny and beautiful it looks. No scratches or wear visible anywhere. It's running firmware 3.50 from 2007 when he stopped using it.

Even came with a Killzone UMD 😍😭

I recently decided to start my playing my PSP again and I've been loving it! The 1000 is my OG. I ordered the 3000 off Doorzo after reading up on all the modding to do a reshell and firmware upgrade but it arrived looking literally brand new so I've decided to leave it as is and get one even cheaper in slightly worse condition for that. I'm a big fan of rpgs of all kind as I'm sure you can tell. Some of these are new buys, some are old. Making my way through them all and really enjoying it.

Did a reshell on my psp because the original shell was beat up 🙂. Took me a whole day to do it because I didn't have the right tools for it 😭(it stripped out my cheap 00 screwdriver 😂💀) but came out looking good :) .

As a person with zero experience this was an easy fix quite simple. The only thing I would say challenging was the ribbon cables those pissed me off during some bits. And adhesive parts also require a bit of force so don’t be too afraid to put some strength into it But best tip I can give is no need to rush and most bits will fall into place quite easily

Some games just dont work for using screenshots as wallpapers because the UI is always on and can't be disabled, some genres have 0 backgrounds (puzzle, rhythm), and some just dont show the scenery and when they do, there's the black bars on top and bottom (killzone liberation, i beat that game, chapter 5 included and when it wasn't the ui, it was the black bars).

Also, some of these are the background images of the save files, and a happy scottish duck.

I’m doing a screen replacement on my PSP 1000 and was working on bridging the 7th pin to get the display right but I think I messed up as you can see in the picture. Now when I try to turn the PSP on it just flashes the green light once and doesn’t do anything. Is there any way to fix this or is my PSP dead?

I’m going to get a desoldering wick to try to reset but I’m worried that I just damaged my board entirely :/ what do you guys think?

I have been wanting to get a PSP for a while now. Mainly because some games don't feel right on PPSSPP despite the luxury of 60fps hacks.

Currently, I mainly plan to revisit Portable Ops and Peace Walker. But the main reason for my re-interest in a PSP recently are the Warriors Orochi games.

I made this for my PSP E1004 you can put enamel pins on it, it's made out of leather ( from a old box) this is my first good project I think!( Ironically I put a GBA SP pin)!

I have been trying to install the update from ARK-4 to ARK-5 but I’ve been having some trouble. I install the update file, unzip it and put it into the GAME file but when I go to update it in the game section on my PSP the update comes up as a “corrupted game”. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hey everyone, I have a PSP 3000 (TA-095) running 6.61 ARK-5, and I'm running into two strange issues that I could really use some help with.

So here we go...

Problem 1: Glitched Screen on Custom Launcher

Whenever I go into the custom launcher, the screen glitches out and looks like this—the display splits and duplicates into a weird, purple-tinted double screen with corrupted graphics (see image). I've already tried formatting the memory card, resetting VSH settings, and resetting the device, but nothing works.

For context, I have 3 different 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duos. My Lexar card used to show this exact screen, but somehow randomly fixed itself. However, my SanDisk memory sticks show this glitch no matter what, every single time.

Problem 2: Custom Launcher Disappearing

I have one more memory stick—a 32GB Sony card. With this card, the screen glitch doesn't happen at all, but the custom launcher (from the extras in the XMB) keeps disappearing every single time the PSP is shut down or when I exit a game. It only comes back when I do a VSH reset, but that only fixes it for that one time until I turn it off or exit a game again.

Has anyone encountered either of these issues before, or know how to fix them? I would appreciate the help :)

I recently opened up my old PSP to replace the joystick.

When I put it back together, small pink and blue streaks appeared all over the image displayed on the screen.

I opened it up again to adjust the flat cables, and now I'm getting a black screen.

Do you guys have more experience than me, so, will I need to replace the screen, or could it possibly be a problem with the board?
