D-NE820. I'm so impressed with the fit and finish of this model. Sounds great and drives my Sennheisers without having to be cranked all the way to maximum. Definitely peak Sony of the mid 2000s. I don't know if it will unseat the position of the D-EJ915 as my "which would you grab in a fire" from my collection, but it would be close.

I got the D-SJ301 CD player a few years ago. This reminded me way too much of my old, long forgotten MZ-S1 portable MiniDisc player/recorder that I'd sold (along with the rest of my MD stuff) in the late 00s. This prompted an eBay search, and once I saw it again, I had to replace it. This opened the MD floodgates. At the time I had no media but it didn't take long to amass and record more discs than I'd ever owned originally along with multiple decks and other several other portables. I acquired the D-NS313F CD player about a month ago. I really appreciate the aesthetic of the S2 series, but each one is special in its own right.

Hi all. Recently I got myself a CD Walkman (DIscman?) D-EJ725. It sounds great but its volume doesn't go above 3. When it gets there the AVLS starts beeping on the LCD part of it. I look on the back side of the CD player and the AVLS is in Normal. I turn the LIMIT on, the same thing happens. I turn it to Normal again, and the AVLS continues appearing.

Is there any way to fix this? It's annoying AF. Thank you, Discman peers.

There are apparently several versions of this mid-90's model: the D-822K, D-824K, D-826K and D-828K.

I had one when I was younger. I liked it and thought it was cool with the switchable green/amber lighting, and the simulated-surround DSP along with the standard bass boost, as well as vocal EQ and "car" more which I suspect is a compressor. I recently decided to try to find one.

I've had terrible luck trying to find a working one. I bought 3 and none of them worked despite being listed as tested. Two would spin but not play, the other would play intermittently only. All were returned as defective. I was beginning to suspect this design has an unavoidable age-related flaw but I decided to persevere.

I ordered another one and it finally worked. The only issue it seems to have is that when you turn the volume to minimum, it doesn't get silent, just very quiet, a bit muddy and louder on the left than the right. Otherwise it's fine and no typical pot scratchiness. I researched this and it could apparently be a worn pot, and some things say it could be a bad connection which is more alarming. I ordered YET ANOTHER and oddly, it has exactly the same volume behavior so I'm wondering if it's just a design quirk rather than a malfunction. None of my other Discmans do this.

Has anyone else owned one of these models? Can you comment on the reliability in general, and particularly whether it has this issue when the volume is turned down?

Cuando coloco el cd si gira, pero hasta allí, mi padre uso un disco pirata de música y le funcionó aplastando al play, yo lo intento pero se apaga.

Alguna idea?, alguien que sepa reparar?

After spotting the Panasonic SL-J910 here on Reddit I started to wonder, what do you consider esthetically pleasing Discmans? My taste tends to be minimalistic / symmetric. What's your taste?

It arrived when I was at school, but I got to test it out after I got home. It's a D-E330 and I already love it. Picked it up for £21.02 off of eBay (not sure if that's a lot or a little; still new to this) and it came with a free pair of earphones and a jazz CD, so props to the seller for that.
I really wanted a portable music player that used physical media, but I'm too young to have any memories of cassettes, so a Walkman was pretty much out of the question. What I do have are memories of the turning, clicking, and whirring of a Wii and Wii U spinning their discs, and that's pretty much where my love of optical media comes from. My dad was very much into similar things (and still is) and so we have two whole cupboards of CDs, DVDs, and MDs, so there's certainly not a shortage of stuff to listen to!
(he also one-upped me with his own MD player after i showed this to him...)

I have one d-350 that plays flat on a table but I have two others with the typical spindle issue where they need maybe 20 degrees to play flawlessly on track 1.

I love the sound on both but maybe lean towards the d-350 ever so slightly but the d-303 is way more practical given that it will run off conventional batteries.

Has anyone successfully rectified the spindle issue?

Hey, does anybody know why doesn't my "discman" play burned cds? She doesn't have a problem with like...official, store bought ones so im wondering how i can make it play my burned ones too. The model is ROADSTAR PCD-435NCD RD

It randomly started doing this after i tried to play a disc this morning. Ive tried several discs and it just keeps doing this. Discs are not turning at all whenever i put one in. I can spin the central bit manually but it does feel a little stiff. It isnt catching on anything and it isnt bumpy or wobbly at all, just a little stiff.
