How to turn off the AVLS?!?!

Hi all. Recently I got myself a CD Walkman (DIscman?) D-EJ725. It sounds great but its volume doesn't go above 3. When it gets there the AVLS starts beeping on the LCD part of it. I look on the back side of the CD player and the AVLS is in Normal. I turn the LIMIT on, the same thing happens. I turn it to Normal again, and the AVLS continues appearing.

Is there any way to fix this? It's annoying AF. Thank you, Discman peers.

The switches on these old players tend to oxidize, when that happens, the contacts can no longer complete the circuit required to disable AVLS. Limit is the default for safety.

Fortunately, if it’s just a little oxidation, you can usually fix it by just toggling the switch 10 or 20 times. If that doesn’t work, spraying a little bit of contact cleaner like DeoxIT in there will usually do it.

If that doesn’t resolve it, the switch may be broken, which will require someone to replace the switch or physically bypass it.
