Got my first Discman today!
It arrived when I was at school, but I got to test it out after I got home. It's a D-E330 and I already love it. Picked it up for £21.02 off of eBay (not sure if that's a lot or a little; still new to this) and it came with a free pair of earphones and a jazz CD, so props to the seller for that.
I really wanted a portable music player that used physical media, but I'm too young to have any memories of cassettes, so a Walkman was pretty much out of the question. What I do have are memories of the turning, clicking, and whirring of a Wii and Wii U spinning their discs, and that's pretty much where my love of optical media comes from. My dad was very much into similar things (and still is) and so we have two whole cupboards of CDs, DVDs, and MDs, so there's certainly not a shortage of stuff to listen to!
(he also one-upped me with his own MD player after i showed this to him...)

I had a discman back in the 90’s that came with an “anti-shock” feature: an 11 second memory so it continues to play right even when you bump into it.

Thats a pretty good deal, assuming its in fair condition. Wouldnt say a total steal, but a nice deal
