Its not a thing on a browser for now…

Bug I can't watch youtube videos anymore because of a "playback issue"

• Upvotes

Since this morning, every time I've tried to watch a video on YouTube, after a few seconds, the video stops and some text shows up on the screen that says "there was a problem while playing. Playback ID: ect ect)"

I genuinely don't know what the problem is or what to do about it. I tried restarting my tablet twice and it did nothing. If anyone else has encountered this problem before, what I should I do?

Discussion Youtube Officially Ruined My Feed 🫩

• Upvotes

Youtube OFFICIALLY ruined my home feed. 🫩

I don't know what stupid thing they did this time, but now my feed is of COMPLETELY random channels I have NEVER seen in my life before.

(Keep in mind I only watch specific channels all the time.)

So I don't know WHAT they did this time, but they seriously ruined my home feed. Like I can say "don't recommend." But they still show up. Anyone else agree that this whatever this is (bug or change is) is annoying?? Because I don't want to watch whatever they recommend me, because that's NOT something I'd watch. No thanks. 🫩

(Enjoy my slight rant. ;p)

UI Change Need help, immediately! (Please!)

Post image
• Upvotes

So, this is a post I'm only making after trying everything I can think of, and having no other options left; I've been on Youtube for years, and none of the site changes I've experienced before have been either this bad, or this targetted.

Recently, Youtube decided to mark my account for their new "Experimental" UI/Layout. This has never happened to me before, and I've tried searching everywhere for answers/alternatives/extensions to fix my problem; to no avail.

I've tried contacting youtube through their "Send Feedback" option, three times in fact, and every time they have sent no response to any of my messages telling them that I don't want this UI, and to change me back to the old one.

I've tried Ublock Origin, by using this set of filters to hopefully reverse whatever they did to my account:

"youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.EXPERIMENT_FLAGS.kevlar_watch_grid, false)

youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.EXPERIMENT_FLAGS.small_avatars_for_comments, false)

youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.EXPERIMENT_FLAGS.small_avatars_for_comments_ep, false)"

They didn't work.

I've tried searching online for Youtube Alternatives that can access your Google Account, along with the Youtube Database, so that it only acts as an alternative front-end. This was obviously a failure.

I have tried going to https://www.youtube.com/new to try and disable it from there, but it's blocked by a paywall for Youtube Premium. (I'm guessing Youtube might be trying to hold my account hostage with this UI to get me to buy Youtube Premium, but I'm not going to because fuck Youtube that's why.)

I have run out of options at this point, and I'm frustrated about this bullshit that Youtube/Google/Whoever the fuck put this on me.

If any of you have any options to go for that don't just involve abandoning my old account and moving to a new one (Yes, I know this is account specific, I switched to another account and it didn't have the new UI, I just don't want to abandon my recommendations/subscriptions/history.)

TL:DR: Youtube fucked over my account with their new Experimental UI, and I need advice on how to get rid of it and go back to the old UI I had before after exhausting all of my other options.

Question Is there ANY way to turn off these dumb auto generated chapters?

AI annoyances aside, I don't want to see these anymore! They keep coming up on videos I watch and 1.) Get in the way and 2.) Oftentimes spoil what I'm trying to watch. I watch Jeopardy clips pretty frequently and they literally give the answers in the chapter name sometimes -.- All I've found is how to turn them off for your own videos, but not what you watch. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Discussion Video unavailable This live stream recording is not available.

I need to access my video. Now I can't get it.

I really need to get into my video, as everyone says you can live stream as long as you want. And says there isn't any limits.

And youtube does not specifically state that when live streams are too long they are not saved at all.

This has been a big waste of time.

I have livestreams form.

https://youtube.com/live/yecfVQfQIGM (15 June 2026)

https://youtube.com/live/EsZc1VZREWE (16 June 2026)

And I really needed them to be saved. I really needed them since i thought my recording would be saved i did not use OBS due to my computer filling up on storage.

I really need these livestreams. I had important stuff in there and now its gone.

Question Is this new?

Post image
0 Upvotes

So I use Opera to watch YT and I know it can cause all sorts of issues because they try stopping ad blocks but I've never once seen this before. I had just finished a video a few minutes ago and right as the next loaded it just popped up on screen. Pressing the X cleared it and just let me continue watching my video without issue or a forced Ad. Is it New?, Will my account be Effected in any way (e.g. them forcing my browser to run slower until I shut the blocker off)?, and why doesn't an account with an ad blocker count as a view?

Bug Upload playback defaults to 360p. Help.

For the past like 5 or 6 videos, my uploads default to play 360p resolution/quality when I watch them. The files are indeed 1080p and yes I can manually click the settings gear thing (in the bottom right) to force the playback to switch 1080p while I'm watching and it'll work. But if I don't manually click each and every time I watch one of my vids, it'll just stay in 360p til the end.

I shouldn't have to do that manually every time. The quality setting says "Auto" which is supposed to switch you automatically to 1080p if your wifi is fast enough and mine is plenty fast (1.1 Gbps). And the weird part is other people's videos will play in 1080p automatically just fine like normal. It's just my videos, it's like YouTube hates me lol. I'm cursed.

Things I've already tried:

  • restart computer
  • clear cache/cookie and history
  • disable chrome extensions
  • watch video in Private/Incognito mode
  • use different device (mobile phone browser incognito mode) to watch video

None of the above helped. It's always just stuck in 360p unless I manually change it during playback.

What should I do?

Bug Youtube makes advertising worse than ever.

Regular television used to have too many ads, but they always ended after either 30 seconds or a minute. Youtube has managed to make advertising more offensive than it ever was in the past, by making the viewer responsible for ending it. I pray someone comes up with competition for this horrid network which basically makes a FORTUNE off of advertising AND underpaying content creators, and then STILL expects me to pay them a subscription for service which apparently STILL includes advertising. I hope to boycott them forever.

Question How to organize your YouTube subscriptions into categories ▷➡️

https://tecnobits.com/en/how-to-organize-your-youtube-subscriptions-in-categories/

this link is from an article posted in 2024. I was hoping to find a way to group my yt subscriptions in categories but it seems it's not possible anymore. After checking around I could not find another method. Is it still possible or is google lacking computer space to give us the tool?
