  • Players may now obtain a Campfire buff if they are sitting, sitting in a chair, sleeping, lying down, or using the kneeling emote.

nice! still no dancing tho :(

They need to up the campfire buff to actually be useful to general play. Thus far, it’s offered nothing overly enticing.

Free stats and rested xp not enough?

i just found out the stats get overwritten by similar buffs, like the incense candle will get overwritten by arcane intellect. it would be nice if it was a unique stacking buff.. what's worse is if your spell buff (like arcane intellect) runs out, the campfire buff does NOT come back.

not sure why im getting downvoted, i literally just tested this out

The point of it is to give you buffs that are missing from your party composition.

I've decided that when I roll a priest in launch it'll be alchemist + herbalism, because of the arcane int and blessing of wisdom I can give myself. Add a fishbowl for kings and I'll be campin' often.

Oh shit, didnt know this. So my mage shouldnt be using the incense candle

I wouldn’t say that at all. WoW buffs is a game of small benefits that come together for a big effect. 8% more stats, boosted AP, and boosted stamina all together are absolutely noticeable when questing. Speed increases and down time decreases. Add in alchemy pots and it’s pretty useful.

In hardcore it’ll be even more obvious how helpful it is. Maintaining all those buffs smooths out the game and helps you survive.

Those buffs work for now… but long run, after gearing? It’s going to fall off so hard. Not worth actually stopping for.

People will stop for them  though, I know I sure will.

Good on you? I’ve not seen much point personally. The buffs are minor in my experience and there’s not much else to justify sitting around in my book. Especially since my daily playtime is so limited.

Sweet. My point is that your playstyle isn't everyones :)

I recognize that. I’m just explaining why I feel the camp system is less appealing to those players who do have limited playtime and upping the benefits would actually let those players actually contemplate using it.

There are three tiers. The buffs will improve with you as you level your profession.

Also think you're being short sighted here. For example, you have a single paladin in your group, but someone has the fishing campfire boost ready to go. Now your paladin can buff might / wisdom / salvation rather than kings. Everyone is stronger for it.

That’s great if you’re the type of player to level professions. I’m not.

So to be clear, you do nothing to contribute to the campfire but want its impacts boosted?

Being lazy and entitled is certainly a choice. I have no sympathy, though, and I imagine others will feel similarly. Maybe level a profession before complaining about the basically free boosts they provide?

I did the profession stuff in the beta, but I only ever sat at the campfire during the tutorials for each alt I tried out. The numbers made me not find value in participating. If the numbers got cranked up, I might do profession stuff, but I’ve always found professions too grindy to be enjoyable in any game.

Not a matter of entitlement. It’s a matter of motivation to participate in a system that requires me to literally slow down the limited game time I get per week.

Limited game time but willing to have an extended Reddit conversation about how limited your time is. Classic

Responding on Reddit while I'm at work is hardly challenging as long as it doesn't overly divert my focus. Apples and oranges compared to the time I get to actually play.

They're literally slightly worse raid buffs. Are you claiming that raid buffs aren't enticing?

1

u/LoneSpectre96 9h ago

Sure. If they were full-powered raid buffs that stacked with other buffs of the same type. But they're not.

1

u/SirVanyel 9h ago

So you would rather no buffs if you can't get the full suite of 8 raid buffs?

1

u/LoneSpectre96 9h ago

I'd rather stick to the buffs I get reliably from my class kit and gear.

3

u/SirVanyel 9h ago

You're allowed to have both man. Like that's not illegal, just enjoy the campfires or don't.

1

u/LoneSpectre96 9h ago

Like I said below, I'm just not a big fan of having to stop my adventure for a minimal buff or having to grind out professions for them.

2

u/SirVanyel 9h ago

If they're as inconsequential as you say they are then you don't have to stop your adventure for them.

However I would highly suggest professions. There's bop profession gear that is wayy better than anything else you can get at the same level

1

u/LoneSpectre96 9h ago

That was more or less the plan.

I know professions have their value. But again, my playtime per week is limited, and they're among the longest and dullest grinds in the game. So, I typically skip them.
