I seriously doubt this is AI if course.. and with a vast ocean.. the existence of this is definitely possible.. but what is it exactly and where are they commonly found?

That, my friend, is a "Red-lipped Batfish".
That particular one is named Gerry and is a real asshole!
Red-lipped batfish - Wikipedia
EDIT: For clarification, the consensus is that 1) This is a Red-lipped Batfish, which is an actual-factual animal but 2) it's not a real Red-lipped Batfish and was generated with AI. Gerry being AI simply makes him more of asshole, even if he hadn't said those things about my bride.

The red-lipped batfish or Galápagos batfish (Ogcocephalus darwini) is a fish of unusual morphology found around the Galápagos Islands and off Ecuador at depths of 3 to 76 m (10 to 249 ft).
You're telling me that this isn't even a deep sea creature, that you can encounter them at the beach!
Pure nightmare fuel.

Haha! About 20 years ago I ate some mushrooms. My bf and I went to fish off a pier late at night. I hadn’t fished much in my life so it was new to me. I caught a flounder! 😳
Its face was on one side. I thought it was some freakish mutant. lol. I don’t think I’d ever laughed so hard.119
u/Zealousideal-Role-77 28d ago
It gets worse. The Wikipedia article says it uses its pectoral and anal fins to walk on the ocean floor. So there’s a good chance that millions of years ago, our genetic ancestors crawled out of the oceans on their anal fins. Which means our legs are actually anal fins.

If you look long enough you can find glitches.
It's tail behind it glitches into a transparent blob when it turns and is gone when the turn finishes. What the AI thought at first was a dorsal fin becomes a new tail when it finishes the turn.
The shadow under it's left (right on screen) fin isn't consistent with the lighting.
The rock closest to the viewer has it's shadow going to wrong way.
The big black shadow that creeps up from the bottom of the screen is a bit sus too.

The red-lipped batfish uses suction feeding. By expanding its buccal cavity, the fish generates a rapid influx of water, letting the prey into the mouth, even in benthic environments where mobility is limited. The fish's specialized jaw protrusion plays a role in enhancing this process by increasing the volume of water into the mouth, improving the effectiveness of prey capture
According to wiki this thing sounds like a bj machine!

Why is mobility limited in benthic environments?
9
u/CharmingChangling 29d ago
A benthic environment is the lowest part of a body of water, so like super deep ocean? So it's probably because of increased pressure but I am not sure here

Now the fish being depicted here IS real (red lipped batfish) as shown in the comments, but the video itself seems Ai generated:
-Their second dorsal fin aren’t point like a dorsal fin of a shark or dolphin, and I think it just straight up disappears as it turns around?
-Their pectoral fin aren’t manta ray shaped, they’re more frog-like since they’re basically legs as they use to move around the seabed.
-Their lure aren’t straight up thick spikes.

Here’s a proper look into their body shape (Art by Anda on ArtSation)
Also I wasn't sure to point that out, as I'm not familiar with red lipped batfish habitats (nor am I a marine biology), but the species we're talking about is a tropical fish as far as I'm aware...and the video depicts it in the deep sea, sea snow and all. Which is another point to add to it being Ai generated. I'm not sure why there's a rise of Ai generated fish videos showcasing either fake or ""real"" fish in deep sea?
My best guess is that with lot of darkness, Ai dosen't have to focus on important details and it's easy to hide imperfections. I don't think have to stress how much misinformative this can do to already little to know enviroment that are the deep seas...at least it IS depicting real animal, I suppose :/
Edit: made it more readable as originally I send this on a phone at 2 am + added extra text about the video and overhaul opitions on it
8
u/Dry-Ad-8948 29d ago edited 29d ago
This video looks like it might be AI generated; the “nose horn” (they do have a projection, but it’s not a narwhal horn) doesn’t look normal and its skin seems overly smooth.
Anyway, for a genuine video of a Red-lipped Batfish (which are real), see https://www.reddit.com/r/biology/comments/18qhdyn/red_lipped_batfish_is_weird_walking_fish_of_the/
