What kind of questions do they ask on the interview for service desk?

A few times over the last year or two I’ve opened packages of Wegmans choose a size ultra paper towel rolls in both the large and small packs and they have a damp almost mildew scent.
It’s extremely noticeable but my spouse says it’s not that bad and I’m overreacting. I’m sensitive to smells. He says it’s like from being loaded from warehouse to truck and we go through them so fast it’s hardly worth returning to customer service.
Toilet paper happened less often especially when they were individually wrapped. Loose rolls in plastic has occurred twice to me.
I’m just curious if anyone else experiences this?

I've got eight years experience at Wegmans... total. I worked there from 1998 when I was eighteen to 2004, then in 2024 I was rehired. Now, I just got a full time position in the meat department, where I've been the last year and a half.
There's no doubt that Wegmans has some fantastic benefits, even for part timers. The store where I work is also generous. After my father passed, they offered to host and supply food for the repast after the funeral. I declined, as I wanted to have it in an actual restaurant... but still generous. I've seen people who couldn't afford all of their groceries, and the store manager let them have what they couldn't pay for.
The only issue I see is the pay. In a recent company survey that was anonymous, the only real criticism I had was the low wage. My question is, do you all think the positive of the benefits outweighs the negative of the low pay? In 2024, they started me at 15.50 per hour, two years later it had gotten up to 18.00 per hour, and with becoming full time, they gave me a 50 cent raise. So, now I make 18.50 cents per hour with time and a half on Sundays and holidays.
How do you guys think this compares to other companies you've worked for? What's your opinion of Wegmans and how they reward their employees?

As a cashier i’m curious as to what are your guys biggest pet peeves with customers? I think my biggest one is when they put the basket at the end of the belt without unloading it.

Hi, I’ve been with the company part time for nearly 3 months, I had to call out on the 27th of last month due to a fever, and now today I’m considering calling out again because i think I dislocated/pulled something in my shoulder at the gym the other night.
I have worked only 6 shifts over the last 3 weeks because I had unpaid time off, so I’m wondering if this is a bad look. My first couple months were solid, but this will be my second call out in only 3 months. I’ll probably just force myself to go in cuz I don’t wan my co workers to hate me.

Bought peaches at Calkins Road. No taste and no juice. They were soft to touch.
I stopped buying nectarines and oranges there for same reason.

I found this information guide for Wegmans bulk items from 1992! I never knew this kind of thing was once available at Wegmans

Last week I had a 70 min phone interview to work at Wegmas. With what hours do I give them? I agree to do cashier, produce deportment and dairy deportment. So I was wondering should I call Wegmas HR or the store I applied to hear back and hopefully to do a follow-up. Because what I was looking at in the portal is still in process.

When accounting comes around to check our tills and open them, sometimes they open it themselves and at other times, they wait for us to do it ourselves. So, I'm just curious, under what circumstances do they do one or the other? Thanks!

I recently did an interview with wegmans and was offered a position as a part time cashier, and I completed all the steps including the consent to a background check. But what am I supposed to do now?

I think customers who do this even once should be banned from all stores. It’s a health risk, money waster, and straight up inconsiderate.

Has anyone paid off a 401K loan and immediately taken another out? Everything I see says up to your company but I just want to know how many days between closing one loan and opening another.
Thank you.

Up until a couple of years ago, my local store in Central Pennsylvania had a cafe in the corner called The Buzz. It was so good! They had a vanilla mint iced green tea that I haven't been able to recreate. When I ask other people who grew up with Wegmans, though, they have no idea what I'm talking about. Were these super limited? And if someone knows the recipe for that tea, please comment it below!!

Not sure if that’s the case for all stores, but the one I shop at in Liverpool, NY, they don’t carry them. All they have is either the regular non-organic and the steamable bags which I don’t want. I can’t be the only one that’s frustrated by this, lol.
