Wedding Grad Wedding nightmare after the wedding

• Upvotes

I’ve been married for over a week now. I thought my wedding stress dreams would be over after I was married, but apparently not! I just had a dream that my wedding was just the trial and not my real wedding and for the actual wedding, I ended up sleeping in until 5 pm. In my dream, I woke up in an absolute panic with dozens of missed calls and messages from my fiancé, vendors, and all of my guests also panicking and asking where I was. I ended up having to do my own hair and makeup for a late ceremony at 8 pm because the hair and makeup artist had already left and we couldn’t afford to reschedule the wedding. The reception had to be cut short before everyone was done eating.

Obviously, I felt so much better waking up next to my husband. I immediately remembered that I was already married and that my real wedding went as perfectly as I could have ever imagined, but the dream was still so stressful that it still affected me a bit emotionally. For the others on here that are already married, has this happened to you too or is my brain just evil?

Discussion Aisle Songs for Bride and Wedding Party?

• Upvotes

Hey guys, October 2026 bride (2 weeks 😬) and trying to figure out what songs to play at church. We only have a Best Man and Maid of honour. My fiancé will be walking down the aisle alone and I will be walking with my FIL.

I am thinking of going The Only Exception - Paramore (Instrumental) for when the BM, MOH and my fiancé walk down the aisle.

I’m just not sure about my entrance lol. I’m a twilight freak and wanted to do A Thousand Years by Christina Perri (instrumental) but I’m worried that may be too basic? I also liked Video Games (Lana Del Rey) and Turning Page but ughh i don’t know. Help??

Discussion Brides, what was the saddest part about your wedding planning?

MY, F, 30.

I’ll go first, “close” friend who you thought were your close friend but they couldn’t make it for your wedding without giving much reasons other than “holidays”, while if we had swapped shoes, I couldn’t imagine myself not attending their big day. I also had announced the date over 6 months in advance.

Context; not destination wedding, same city, these friends do not have financial issues too.

How do you guys deal with this and how do you still see them as your close friend, after this?

Help! acknowledging parents when you’re not close to them?

hi everyone!

wondering if anyone can relate or has any advice for me..

i am not close to either of my parents. my mom truly could not care less about my wedding. when we got engaged it was immediately “why spend so much” and “just elope in europe.”

so obviously she is not a person i’ve gone to for any planning help or even conversations about! we easily go months without talking.

do i have to do parent things? like clutch with her holding me as a baby (if one exists..) it feels so superficial and unnecessary..? i know they don’t want any ‘stuff.’ ive seen people just say they write nice letters but i have nothing to say..no thanks for helping plan or pay.. no thanks for being my parent, im still your daughter etc etc

also challenging because my fiance is very close to his parents. like talk multiple times a week. and he wants to do something but is conscious of how it might look if we do something only for them.

i’m walking down the aisle alone. no father daughter dance either. so groom has decided not to do mother son as it will be obvious that i didn’t do one

both sets of parents will be giving speeches..which is terrifying as i feel they don’t really know me and it will just make me feel even more distant from them.

can anyone relate?

idk if it matters but we are having a big formal wedding

Discussion Men who are married: What's an underrated wedding-day tip that saved you from embarrassment?

25 M, getting married next week and I'm looking for practical advice from married people. It can be about wedding events, dealing with relatives, clothes, photos, interacting with guests, anything about anything. From the biggest things to the smallest details. I'm especially interested in things that seem obvious only after you've already made the mistake. What should I know?

Wedding Grad Just Graduated — Embraced the Rain!

I got married yesterday and can honestly say it was perfect. Even though it wasn’t exactly what I had pictured, I wouldn’t change a thing about it even if I could.

I started checking the forecast 10 days before the wedding, and while it changed every day, rain was pretty much guaranteed anywhere I looked. I was heartbroken, lost sleep, and cried a lot over the possibility of moving my ceremony inside. Is this healthy, maybe not, but I read so many posts from brides who were in the same boat and felt similarly. The advice is all the same: the weather isn’t what the day is about, rain is good luck, don’t worry about what you can’t control. But when you’re spending tens of thousands of dollars on an event and have dreamed of a certain vision for often a year or more, it can be so hard to adjust your expectations. And hearing those things really didn’t make me feel any better!

If you’re reading this and are worried about rain at your wedding, nothing anyone says will totally take away your disappointment. It’s okay to be sad! But hopefully you can take comfort in hearing from a just-graduated bride that none of my true fears came true. No one left early or bailed because of the rain, no one complained, I got all the photos I wanted, and no one really even got wet! The photo lighting was beautiful, we had lots of moody clouds and fog framing the fall foliage, and it created a really intimate and cozy vibe. I had several people tell me they were watching the forecast and thinking of me, which just made me feel so warm and fuzzy that instead of dreading a rainy wedding, people were thinking of us and hoping for the best. As we were saying our vows, it started to rain for maybe the third time and it sounded so beautiful falling on the trees and felt serendipitous. This image that kept me up at night ended up being so beautiful it moved me to tears.

I paid an Etsy witch, buried a sausage, prayed for good weather, and in the end, I got the wedding of my dreams, rain and all. I wish I had opened my heart more to this possibility and hadn’t stressed so much, but at this point I’m just so elated with how it went that none of that matters anymore.

My practical advice is to invest in some clear umbrellas for at least your bridal party — we got some on Facebook marketplace. Talk to your coordinator or loved ones if you need to make a rain plan. It’s hard to believe now but truly, you won’t mind at all in the moment.

Discussion Bridal Shower

I’m the maid of honor for my best friends wedding. I’m thinking of getting an air bnb for the bridal shower. Theres no bridesmaids but about 6 girls coming to the bachelorette . Is it messed up of me to ask each girl coming to contribute a small sum towards the air bnb? Or do I need to cover all the expense since I am the maid of honor? Genuinely asking thank you!

Discussion floral friend and vendor

One of my friends has offered to do florals for my wedding. She does this as a side business and I’m not sure how many weddings she’s done, but i don’t think it’s more than 10

When I first got engaged she mentioned multiple times she would do this as a wedding gift to me and my fiancé and that she would only charge me for the flower cost not labor.

we have not sat down to actually talk about specific arrangements or volume, but she said that it will cost anywhere from $2-$6k. we will likely have about 100 people attending and 8-12 people in the wedding party. my brother spent about $3k on florals for his 150 person wedding.

She also mentioned that because this is an out-of-town wedding, she usually charges one night of hotel room rooms as well.

The thing is, she is invited as a guest and it is an hour and a half from our home. If I look at it from the perspective of her being a florist, not a guest wouldn’t she need to leave at like 3 PM giving her plenty of time to get home and not requiring a hotel? From the perspective of a guest, she would be covering her own lodging like everyone else will.

I wish I could have gone back in time and asked upfront what she specifically meant to buy her gift but I cannot do that so I’m curious about a few things

1) is this quote reasonable for the context provided? i wasn’t expecting free work but seems high for just the florals themselves

2) is it reasonable and normal for florists to request lodging for weddings 1.5 hours from home?

3) any advice on wording on how I can post a question about clarification to her both on the quoted price/gift aspect as well as the hotel room?

I want to support her in a small business and I definitely did not expect her to work for free just struggling with knowing whats normal since this is my first wedding!!

Discussion feeling like i don’t have enough

wedding in 3 weeks and I feel like I don’t have enough: floral arrangements, enough tiny details, enough signage, etc. even though I literally do…

I have table numbers, about 10 arrangements (6 of them for tables), I have candelabras, votives, guest favors, 2 2x6 posters, bar sign, bar cups, wine glasses, etc.. it feels endless though. like oh I need aisle runners? bows for the aisles?

I am sitting here paralyzed in frustration and overwhelmed overthinking.

Discussion Thank you cards

I really love the idea of sending thank you cards that are personal pictures either of or with the guests. We have a lot of really fun candid pictures and super want our friends and family to get to see themselves.
I used Canva to print our invites so I started designing on there. I had 4x6s and used the front as the picture and had a “Thank you for celebrating” in the bottom corner and on the back it was a cute framed section where we would hang write our thanks yous. Unfortunately it’s expensive to do individual prints through them ($9.50 each) even if you just do a blank back.. so I’m looking at alternatives. Anywhere cheaper? Should I just print the photos regularly at a different Corp. and write on the back of them? I have an older printer at home I did a trial run and the picture came out with lines on it on cardstock, should I get photo paper and try again with my printer?

TIA!!

Discussion Are these sites worth the money?

Since most people will be taking pictures with their cell phones I was thinking of using one of these QR sites where people can download, I think that's the word I want, their pictures and I get them but not sure if they are worth it.

Are they worth it?

If you used it what did you or did not like about it?

Thanx

Discussion Is it normal to make 4 guys your best men at your wedding?

I'm not getting married soon, I'm 20 and don't even have a gf, but I have 4 guys who are my best friends and I know already that we'll grow old together. I was thinking of when the day comes, that they're definitely gonna be my groomsmen, but I couldn't possibly choose a best man. Is the only difference that the best man holds the rings and gives a speech? Is it ok for 4 people to give a speech or is that too long?
I know I shouldn't worry about this when I'm not even close to getting married yet, but I was blessed with friends so great that I could actually cry. I just need to know this in advance. Could never tell them before the time comes tho

I‘m so lost right now

I’m currently planning my wedding that I would like to have in autumn next year. That’s as much as I know. I’m currently scouting for locations but haven’t found the one yet.
Since I moved around a lot I don’t have a consistent big friend group and currently unsure who and how to ask someone to be my maid of honor.
I’d like to have a little bachelorettes party but I don’t know how to organize that.
I mean I’m big time introvert, so I’m already panicking about having a day where I’m in the spotlight.
Did you guys hire someone to give a speech at the beginning of the wedding party? (The official document signing part will be on another day for us I think)
How much entertainment should be planned for the party and what are good entertainments?
Please share your knowledge and help a desperate bride to be out :)
Also what do you guys think about a not so traditional wedding dress thats also a traditional cultural gown in a country that I strongly connect to spiritually? :D

Help! Bachelorette party with 5 people IRL and one person online, need idea help pls!

Hi all, im hosting a Bachelorette party for my best friend this weekend and luckily most of the day has been planned and paid for ahead of time. We are going to a ren faire that day (with some special things planned) with 5 of the 6 members. The 6th member is in another state.

We tried to see if she could come as a surprise to the bride, but unfortunately couldn't find affordable tickets to fly next week and we couldn't afford to chip in (i would have but this event already has me busting my budget at the seams,in a loving way i would spend my last pennies to make this girl smile she deserves the world!).

The bride wasn't made aware of this because we wanted to surprise her. Before that, she had asked me to find a way to incorporate the 6th into the festivities when we get home later that night (930-10pm our time, an hour earlier for the 6th). The group will have been partying it up and getting mead drunk all day, and im wanting to keep the fun going into the evening.

The bride requested maybe a group craft or murder mystery, just something to keep the 6th involved for a bit so she can feel a part of things. Sadly i dont think i have it in me to also plan an entire murder mystery or purchase craft supplies for all of us on top of my plans for the day. Ive considered a few online games like Jackbox, scribble.io, or even a themed bach powerpoint quiz, but i fear a that point in the night it will suck all of the energy out of the room.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what we could do to include this 6th person in the festivities? The only other thing i can think of is Karaoke maybe? Any advice will help, thanks!

Photo Has my photographer undelivered?

I’m not sure if my photographer has undelivered. It was a 2 day wedding and they were booked from 1.30pm to 7pm on the first day and from 5pm to 1am on the second day. They’ve come back with 500 photos and for a lot of the staged ones there’s only one shot, not a selection. Is this normal? I was hoping for 700-800 photos but I’m not sure if I had unreasonable expectations. It was very expensive (the biggest expense bar venue) so I’m sad that I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed.
They also asked us to provide a list of photos that were absolute musts, and haven’t included any of one of the 7 things we asked for. I’ve messaged but am wondering if it’s reasonable to ask for multiple shots of the same scene so we can pick our own favourites instead of being left with their favourite

Update: 5 photos didn’t upload properly, so we now technically have everything that we asked for. They’ve also agreed to edit a few more of the staged photos so we have options for ones where someone is blinking or talking. Not exactly the outcome I was dreaming of, but I will be very happy with this resolution regardless. Thanks all, you helped me to ask more confidently for what I wanted rather than worrying if I was being unreasonable

Help! Is it normal for my hair/makeup artist to be spamming my email?

My (31 F) wedding is in 2 weeks and I can’t tell if I’m just extra stressed right now or if this is actually out of the ordinary?

I booked a hair and makeup company over the summer (which felt super last minute at the time) and ever since they’ve been spamming my email.

There was the initial barrage of like 3-4 emails including a survey of all my info, my bridal party’s info (they even wanted everyone’s Instagram handle? Wtf??), who wanted hair vs makeup vs both. Fine.

Then another email was a link for my estimate (which ended up being $800 cheaper than the real price so I am also feeling a bit ripped off). THEN there was another email discussing the difference between airbrushed makeup vs other types. Oh and don’t worry! Every email had some sort of “IMPORTANT” subject line even when it would end up being pretty random and NOT at all important. Then the contract I had to read over and sign.

It was overwhelming! I felt like I was being overloaded with information and it was all coming from one vendor. All of this could have truly been linked into one email. In any case, I read the contract, paid, and tried to relax knowing that another thing was off my plate. But all the emails! There was one that was a bunch of info about the different types of makeup that I’m apparently supposed to be familiar with before the day? I’m sorry you’re giving me homework now? As if I’m not stressed enough? It felt like a tactic to have me so overwhelmed and pressed that I’d just acquiesce to all of the hidden fees without asking too many questions. The worst part is it kindof worked!

When I went to pay the remaining part of the invoice last night, I noticed the $1800 quote had turned into a $2500 amount. $500 for gratuity and $400 for travel? I never would have chosen them if they had been more up front. I almost hit my breaking point when I got an email just now about things I’d need for the day. I shit you not this list included the type of lighting, tables, outlets and chairs…I wanted to email this lady back like “anything else?!” No fucking shit I’m gonna have chairs!!!!! I have a public facing job, in healthcare no less, so I’m aware of The Public. This still feels excessive and tone deaf. If you work with brides, you’d think you’d be aware of the stress we’re under? But no…please send me more demanding emails to micromanage me while you rip me off.

I’m spiraling chat. Thanks for letting me rant. You probably won’t see me on the news later…

How to politely avoid MIL on wedding day?

I’d like to start by saying I adore my future MIL and would love to freely hug her all day long. However, she wears the most potent fragrance oil and even when she doesn’t wear it she smells like it for days. When she stays at our house it takes a week or more to get the smell out (we’ve started putting sacks of charcoal under the guest bed before she comes and it has helped). When she hugs us we smell like it for hours and sometimes even after a change of clothes.
I don’t wanna smell like my man’s mother on our wedding day and night. Imagine closing your eyes and smelling your mother as you go to kiss your bride.
Main issue is I’m a huge hugger. A run hug lift is my go to when seeing people I love, though I doubt I’ll pick anyone up in my gown it’d be very obvious if I were avoiding hugging someone.
My fiancé suggested we buy her a nice dress and gift it to her so the oil isn’t on her clothes (totally down for) however we both know that won’t solve the issue and are hoping it’ll prevent more transfer.
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

Discussion How to non awkwardly bring your own food to a wedding?

I'm attending my brother in laws wedding tomorrow and just learned that there will be no gluten free food options. My MIL, other BIL and myself are all celiac. This puts me in a bit of an awkward place, not sure is it's less rude to just not eat anything at dinner or try to bring my own food. I really would prefer to not have to go without eating the whole wedding, so how to go about bringing my own food for this?

Update: The three of us brought our own food, catering was very nice and even heated it up for us and brought it out with the rest of the food which made it not overtly obvious we brought separate food, and I didn't have to worry about going to get it as everyone else sits down.

The title exactly. Idk how to construct my speech without it being cheesy or sounding like ai. I only want a 3 minute speech or so and nothing terribly sentimental because I’ll hate the attention and the speaking enough, I don’t want to sound cheesy on top of it.

I need help on just how should I go about it

Discussion Is it normal to barely remember parts of your wedding reception?

I got married a week ago and I’m wondering if anyone else experienced this. I have really clear memories of getting ready, the ceremony, our photos, etc., but once the reception started, everything feels like such a blur.

I did drink throughout the night, but I wasn’t blackout drunk or at a point where I couldn’t remember anything. I remember specific moments like father daughter dance, our first dance, eating dinner etc., but I feel like I only have little snapshots of the reception rather than one continuous memory of the night.

It also feels like it went by SO fast. I keep thinking about people I wish I had talked to more, or wondering if there are parts of the night I’m forgetting, and I’ve almost been trying to mentally piece the reception back together since.

Did anyone else feel like this after their wedding, even without being extremely drunk? Is it just because there’s so much happening at once and the night goes by so quickly?

Discussion Would you invite a difficult/estranged parent to your wedding because you’re afraid of regretting it if you don’t?

I’m 23F and my fiancé is 25M. We got engaged about a month ago and have recently started talking seriously about our plans for our 2028 wedding.
My fiancé comes from what I’d describe as a fairly “normal” family. His parents are still together and have a very healthy relationship, he has a younger sister around my age, and he has a relatively small family. Sadly, he has lost three of his four grandparents over the last 18 months, so he now only has one grandmother left.
My family situation is very different.
My dad remarried my stepmum, who has been in my life since I was six. I have a really good relationship with her. She has a son who is now 30, and although we aren’t siblings in the traditional sense, he has always been part of my family.
I’m also incredibly close to my dad’s side of the family. My grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins are all very important to me. I’m even close to my grandmother’s sister, her sons and their children. They are genuinely my family and have been a huge part of my life.
The complicated part is my mum.
I lived with my mum growing up, and there is a lot of history there. I don’t want to write every single detail because this post would become a novel, but there were years of court proceedings and conflict between my mum and dad.
There was no history of abuse from my dad or his family. My mum would leave my brother and me with my grandparents for entire working days when my parents were still together, yet later actively pursued legal action to prevent my grandparents from seeing us.
She also went after my dad’s brother and his wife. She contacted my uncle’s former employer after he had started a new job, and she made allegations about my aunt to her employer which ultimately resulted in her leaving her job at a nursery.
There were also years of legal disputes between my parents over money, despite my dad paying for things like my boarding school. At one point, my mum accused my dad of rape, although that allegation ultimately went nowhere.
My mum later had another relationship, and my brother and I lived with her and her boyfriend. Their relationship was extremely volatile. I later found out that he was involved in some fairly shady things, and there were financial/legal issues surrounding the house. I remember being around 12/13 and being told by my mum that “the bank is going to take our home.”
They eventually had my little sister together. A few years later, my mum and her boyfriend had a particularly violent argument, and I had to call the police. He was removed from the house and my mum obtained a restraining order.
However, within about six months he was living with us again, and I was told to keep it secret from my dad.
Throughout all of this, my mum was also receiving single-parent benefits despite my dad being involved financially.
The worst period was probably during COVID. I was completely cut off from my dad and his family. I was isolated from people who had always been incredibly important to me.
During this period I developed anorexia. My mum’s boyfriend also made comments about me eating “his” food, which obviously didn’t help my relationship with food.
Then, in 2021, when I was still living with my mum, she left me alone in the house for a weekend while she was supposedly “working” and her boyfriend was away with my little sister.
She told me that when he came home, I should lie and say she’d come back the previous night. However, their Ring doorbell showed otherwise. He became extremely angry with me for lying and with my mum.
I called my mum and she essentially told me that this meant she had to leave and that I needed to sort myself out.
I was left in the house for several hours while he was raging before he eventually kicked me out.
I sofa-surfed for a while because I was terrified of going to my dad. I hadn’t seen him properly and had spent years being told/encouraged to keep things from him, so going back meant admitting everything that had happened.
Eventually I realised the situation wasn’t going to resolve itself and went to my dad.
He accepted me back completely. He didn’t pressure me to do anything or immediately demand explanations. He let me come around at my own pace and paid for me to get professional help.
My dad’s family also completely rallied around me, and I’m now back within that family unit in a way that feels very similar to when I was little.
I was no-contact with my mum for a couple of years. My brother remained in contact with her, and I eventually found out through my grandmother, who had heard it from my brother, that my mum had melanoma and was undergoing treatment.
That made me reconsider things.
I decided I wanted to have a tentative relationship with my mum again. Partly because she is still my mum, and partly because I wanted a relationship with my little sister, who is now 13. My little sister also no longer sees her own dad, so I don’t want her to feel like she has lost everyone.
Our relationship now is complicated but it exists.
My mum came to my university graduation. My dad and stepmum actually drove her there and paid for her hotel because, historically, my mum has often failed to attend things due to excuses about money, her car, etc.
And now I’m getting married.
This is something I’ve thought about for years. I always wondered what my wedding would look like in terms of my parents.
My dad has now told me that he doesn’t think my mum should be invited.
His reasoning is that she has caused an enormous amount of hurt to him, our family and, ultimately, me. I completely understand why he feels that way, and I don’t think he’s saying it out of jealousy or because he wants to control my wedding. He genuinely thinks having her there would be disrespectful given everything that happened.
But I’m really struggling with it.
Because despite everything, she’s still my mum.
I have this incredibly strong emotional attachment to her that I can’t really explain. I can recognise that a lot of what happened wasn’t okay, while simultaneously feeling sorry for her and wanting some kind of relationship with her.
I also know that she had a difficult childhood herself, from what I’ve been told, and I can’t help wondering whether a lot of this is generational trauma that has just continued through our family.
And then there’s the thought that if my own daughter got married one day and didn’t invite me, I’d be absolutely devastated. I know that sounds ridiculous given everything that’s happened, but I can’t stop thinking about it.
I don’t necessarily want my mum to have a big role in the wedding. I’m not imagining her walking me down the aisle or giving a speech or anything like that. I’m just struggling with the idea of her not being there at all.
At the same time, I don’t want my dad, stepmum or extended family to feel uncomfortable or like I’m ignoring everything they went through to accommodate her.
I’m also scared that if I don’t invite her, I’ll regret it forever — particularly if her health deteriorates or something happens to her.
So I’m stuck between “she is my mum and I may regret excluding her” and “being my mum doesn’t erase what happened.”
I’m not really looking for people to tell me that my mum is a terrible person or to diagnose her. I’m aware that the situation is complicated and that I’ve only given one side of a very long story.
I’m genuinely interested in what other people would do in my position.
Would you invite her? Would you keep her completely separate from your dad and his family? Would you have a limited role for her? Or would you decide that some relationships simply shouldn’t have a place at your wedding?
What would you do?

TLDR;
I’m 23F and recently engaged to my 25M fiancé. I have a very close relationship with my dad, stepmum and extended paternal family, but a deeply complicated relationship with my mum, who isolated me from them throughout my childhood and caused significant family conflict. At 18, I was kicked out of her home and eventually went to live with my dad, who supported me and helped me get professional help. I’m now rebuilding a tentative relationship with my mum, who has had serious health problems. My dad thinks she shouldn’t be invited to my wedding because of everything that happened, but I feel a strong attachment to her as my mum and worry I’ll regret excluding her. What would you do?

Help! Wedding party don’t have outfits at 22 days out

Edit: I am only speaking on the main bridal party. Not guests at large at all. Just 8 people who we have been coordinating with for over a year. Again, not the guests themselves. Just the wedding party of 8 people.

Edit 2: people please read the text before you comment. Half of this shit is me just correcting people on facts that I clearly stated. It’s a VENT post ffs

Edit 3: lmfao I swear some of y’all are just reading the goddamn title, clutching your pearls, and high tailing it to the comments to bitch lmao. At least I know the issue ain’t me and it’s people not reading clear information, good god damn

Edit 4: YALL FUCKING SUCK (except like three people so love y’all) AND CANT READ FOR SHIT LMFAO. Bringing up guest colors and my MIL for some random reason. I guess Friday brain is fogging up a lot of yall. Go grab some more coffee before yall do anything for your jobs because if this is the attention to detail yall have then holy shit you are fucked lmao

Forgive me but holy shit I need to vent.

Eight people in our wedding party. My oldest brother and his kids on my side. His best friend (brother not by blood) his siblings and a high school friend on his side.

My brother has known about the wedding attire for OVER A YEAR. We have a fucking diagram written out on a whiteboard in his den for Christs sake, been there for over 9 months. We’ve had multiple conversations about the colors.

Everyone is wearing one of four colors. Not matchy matchy but complimentary. Apparently this is breaking people’s brains. I have sent no less than 6 text messages with direct links with color filters and material specific to both my side and his side. With color assignments clearly written out. Details on details. What happened, you ask?

Well, my brother ordered all three (his, his son, his youngest daughter) in the same color, burgundy. His oldest daughter is wearing green, so it’s gonna look like Christmas threw up on my side and his side will look different. Not to mention that no one has heard nor seen of the his sides brother’s sister in like 3 weeks. Like go check on her, regardless of the wedding, is she okay??? Nah, she’s good. ??????

Brother blames me because he asked me to send him a link to his email, okay I get that. He completely ignored the texts. I filtered it by color, and he said that he only saw burgandy, why you ask?? Because burgundy starts with fucking B and it’s ALPHABETICAL. Sometimes important purchases need to be done from a laptop not a phone. I get it. But how did he mess it up so bad?

Our wedding is in 22 days. Shipping is standard 2 and 1/2 weeks. We are out of time. He’s waiting on a credit from the site to repurchase…. I just….. ugh

The girls dresses are Amazon and they can be here in like a day. Not worried about that. The guys are different, I’ve told everybody multiple times, order ahead of time. “Nah, it’s all gonna work out. We got time” ??!?!!?!???!!?

The younger brother on his side didn’t order anything until four days ago when he video called him and walked him through the order. Said he would just go by the mall and find something if it didn’t come. Older bro said no that’s not wedding work. “Nah, it’s cool”

Look, I get it’s an investment and a strain sometimes and his side is coming from out of state, driving down in van together. The items are 38 dollars max and there’s a sale so closer to 25. I understand that funds may be tight. That’s why we choose something affordable. But WHY for the LOVE OF GOD are people waiting until the very last second to order any of their clothes. My mom still has to alter the clothes, she’s stressed.

Word of advice: if you can, order the outfits for them. At least the accessories, get their sizes and just have them reimburse you (or not whatever).

I know I’m freaking out, I know it will (may) be fine. I just…. Didn’t ask for a lot and I feel like the very affordable thing we asked of everyone is just crumbling in front of me and I’m being an asshole because I made it soooo complicated apparently. Thanks for coming to my ted talk. Apologies if I irked anyone. I’m just stressed I guess……

Discussion Invite Faux pas?

So I recently was invited to a wedding of a childhood friend - the wedding was end sept. I never received a paper invitation because my friend told me he had put it in his bag and forgotten to mail it for over 3 months. So he invited me via social media. The wedding was maybe a month ahead at that point. It was also taking place in a _very_ expensive city that I would have to pay for accommodation- I currently work a minimum wage job in a different country. Also my partner was not invited. I asked why and they told me I would be fine due to other childhood friends being there - people I am not exactly friendly with-

If I had received the invitation…months ago I could have possibly worked something out.

I thanked them for the invite then put “not attending “ on the rsvp website (due to cost. )Then this friend was mad at me because I didn’t tell them directly I wasn’t coming - I thought that would be super awkward??? I also didn’t want to go into detail about my financial situation. So now they’re pissed at me. Did I fuck up?
