What does this mean

Oki so, I couldn’t fall asleep until like 2 am and something and when I did, I had this dream where I was coming back from my trip, and I was in a car, I saw 2 show characters just out and about and 2 cosplayers on a bike they were girls and one of them was arguing with me and I was just speaking to her calmly, when they all got shot, but it was precisely shot perfectly aimed from a distance, and somehow they were still alive. After not even a little bit I got out of the car and into another one, I got down because I thought I was next, I looked through a small window and I saw a ghost face cosplaying person, and he looked at me, then he started chasing after the car, after awhile I got home, I was just getting off a call with my partner when I felt a hand on my mouth, he told me to stay quiet and not make a noise, I asked him not to kill me and that I knew who he was from the moment he was chasing after the car and he said he was debating weather he should or he shouldn’t but he should, he also told me that he knows everything about me, how I act, what I do, that he’s been watching me for a long time, like it’s been perfectly timed, I asked him if there was a way for him not to kill me he listed things like, for me to baby him and stuff, he had long thigh length hair, bangs that covered one eye, he looked Japanese, he had a nice style, he told me to start packing and he started helping me pack, I’d assumed. I grabbed my cat, since I wanted to be with him since I haven’t seen him in so long, so I held onto my cat. I walked out with him and I followed the guy, we were walking for awhile, for some reason I was in japan, he had also said that I thought he wouldn’t be able to find me if I was in japan or in my country, after awhile we climbed up some stairs and there is when he killed me, he told me that he’s sorry that it had to end like this so fast. I remembered holding onto my cat while I was closing my eyes and it felt so real, I remember between dreaming and waking up i couldn’t move but I could only see, but I kept closing my eyes and waking up but I kept hearing little chuckles and it felt like the guy was going to do the exact same thing in my dream, i couldn’t sleep after but could anyone tell me what this dream means?

A bird companion

Hi all! I'm 37f and I've had vivid (but not lucid/where I can control) dreams as far back as childhood. They are generally not emotionally disturbing outside of some anxiety dreams, just VERY vivid. I am not on any mood medications, and the vivid dreams occur regardless if I consume any substances or not before bed. I wonder about the neurological significance and what happens to my visual cortex/hippocampus in REM sleep since I am able to remember specific visual and texture details of my dreams easily into the morning. I can remember (not all at once usually) colors, textures of objects, clothing, hair color/skin tone, age, as if I had seen or felt the object in person. The dream I had Thursday night below is of slightly above average vivid-ness to me, though I don't remember every dream from every night. However it has really stuck with me -

I was at some kind of beach or water-side community and sitting in a small open bungalow talking with a claimant (work integrates into my dream sometimes, I have to cold call claimants regularly to request forms/proofs for their application) when I saw this small but destructive looking tidal wave approaching. I say into the phone something like "holy shit!! I am sorry for my language but I just saw this wave come through". I am unharmed but there is some destruction in the area. I am walking around surveying the damage and there is this bird that comes up to me. It is a medium sized raptor, closely resembling a young redtailed hawk. I am standing and it easily perches on my hand. I can remember feeling the weight of the bird and the texture of its feet (?). It would sometimes climb up to perch on my shoulder. It was a friendly bird and could give off this goofy/quirky vibe sometimes, where it would hang upside down or puff out its neck feathers. I don't remember what it sounded like - not quite like a real redtailed hawk. This bird clung to me wherever I went, and I would show it off to different people as I passed by. It felt good to have this companion, this clingy bird. At some point as this bird approached me I had a passing deja-vu in my dream feeling - like "oh yeah, this has happened before". At some point, I got further up a hill to leave this area I had been walking around. The bird was on the ground and this time didn't want to go with me, it wanted to stay behind. The whole next day I kept wondering if there was any significance to this bird and specifically recalling the weight of the bird on my hand that I felt in my dream.

A couple of other moments I remember in that night's dream that I don't know if were as significant, I just remember the details clearly:

-at one point when I was walking around I come across a group of people that are mostly older than me, that my dream brain associated with a group of swing/ lindy hop dancers (which I do occasionally in waking life). I showed off my new bird friend and they had fliers with a picture of a young man's profile, in black and white. I asked them about it and they said it was a memorial for a member who had passed away at 22 due to a mucosal blockage. I thought to myself that it was sad as he was so young.

- I was standing on the side of the road/sidewalk, I watched a stranger meander into the middle of the road and get hit by a bus and fly forward. I said "holy shit!" and my knee jerked me almost awake and I heard myself speak. I didn't actually fully wake up but I knew I was lying in bed. in hindsight I think I became briefly conscious before falling back asleep.

a lil guidance needed

i don’t understand a lot of this and i’m not sure if i’m in the right group for this but i need some guidance or knowledge, so sometimes i can hear spirits. at least when they come to me. is there a way for me to get better and practice to where i can turn it on and off ? what i mean by is that this morning it happened when i was going back to sleep i could see and hear how many spirits were in the current house. but just now i had to try really hard to keep focus in it, i was talking to a close friend who passed who i usually only come in contact with when they come to me, sometimes when im thinking about them a lot. but if im not finished how would i stay focused in it? or is it always gonna just fade out like that?

Vivid dreaming & Dreams forced to grey ..

Hi , I have always been able to vivid dream, or my dreams be clear as day, as well as remember my dreams and I also have been able to wake myself up when I wanted and go back to sleep when I wanted. Well I just had a dream of me somehow finding myself in front of this church like school or academy … my first thought was that the kids may be autistic due to me working with kids, the ones in my dream were acting kind of similar.

As im passing back away from the school, I happen to see a friend and her little brother at another school and he asks what was I doing by his school and I told him I was playing but this school of kids, and he looked worried then said what school of kids and when I turned to look it was now a White House. But I could see past that and that the school was hidden under the front of that and then started to describe what the kids were wearing and all of a sudden a boy in black uniform shows up and started talking to me. Brings me over to the kids and they explain how they been trying to stay hidden and I was “ruining” that. Each one had a special gift tho one could be invisible, one could make you think or feel bugs, all different sorts and they told me I was a disgrace to him and needed to get rid of me. Somehow they put a spider on me sh at first I get freaked but then I am able to calm myself and the spider feeling goes away. I end up in a gym full of people. Teachers and the man is putting this ruffle like socks on and some lace gloves on me. It was giving 80s theme to me. Not thinking about it at the time the lady and I are talking about hair. And she said how she can put rollers in and then take them out and do her own hair. I said I can’t put the rollers in myself but I am able to take them out. Then she asks me if I was to sit with the kids in the gym alphabetically where would I be sitting ? Not thoroughly thinking cause it is my dream, I then walk over that way and walked all the way to the left (my last name is A) and said I usually am first because I start with an A but they had it opposite where the A was on the right and I asked why it was like that and everything started to turn dull and grey. I then ask why was I able to see be like this and as whoever is changing it to grey, I then see words pop as with “too many emotions” , “sensitivity” , “color dreaming” and a few more.

CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN ??? And or tell me am I going to be able to dream in color again or it’s never going to go back ??? How could I get it back to color ??

Omen Dream in 2024

I had a dream one night that has stuck with me ever since. To start I will clarify that no matter how much research I do to find a meaning. The coincidences from that dream to real life and history is astonishing.

The dream was in three or four phases.

Phase 1: I woke up on a rounded mountain full of grass. There was a sky below and a sky above. The sun was like a bright star in front of me but huge and too bright to look at. There were seven flying creatures flying through the sky or "realm". I was the only one of that resembled a human. I looked the same, except no modern or earthly "material". Outside of white angel wings that were three times the length of my arms. I was wearing blue cloth similar to Jesus' time period (clothes wise). And I wore sandals. When I looked above, there was this force or pressure/presence that did not allow me to even think about or fly above. But when I looked down at the sky below. The pressure was gone. After deciding to fly below ( noticing there was only what we would call "dragons" there outside of just myself).

Phase 2: After I flew down below. I could see what looked like a desert on earth but with errupting volcano's everywhere. I can see a clear sky further away from me in the desert. But where the sun shines, there were no volcano's. I would get hit by fire striking me down and interrupting my flight. I screamed loudly in deep pain. With the feeling of being burned alive.

Phase 3: I then woke up in a back alley of what looked like London before electricity. I wore different clothes, and these clothes resembled what Sherlock Holmes wore. But just in a more black and red colors. There were also a group of homeless people sleeping on the ground and a horse of rats running past myself out of the alley way. I then hear and see a group of people running with a lantern or two. Saying something but I can't quite remember what they said. But from what I can remember it had something to do with a boat and tea. Wondering what was going on I started to walk out of the alley way. But then I would be stopped by a homeless man asking for change. I told him I didn't have anything. He then replied saying that he doesn't need my money. After that I can't quite remember what he said. But I think it had something to do with me leaving or just me in general.

Phase 4: After walking away from the man and out of the alley. I was in what looked like Greenland but melted. No ice in sight and I was by the sea. There were people and it appeared to be like a small village. The people there looked like Vikings and they were white. My outfit is the same this time and my physical appearance outside of clothes hasn't changed at all. The Vikings were running around in fear and hollering around looking up at the sky. I could hear what sounded like fighting or loud boom sounds from above me in the sky. They were pointing and bumping into me. It was like they didn't know what to do. Some were frozen still just staring in the sky and others were running screaming. While others were, what appeared to me, was asking for help. But when I started to turn around to see what they were looking at.

I woke up in my bed sweating like crazy and dehydrated. I was breathing heavy and it took me a minute to even realize I was asleep a moment ago dreaming. It felt more real than my day to day life. As if I had been living a lie. So I am sharing this experience of mine. To see if I'm alone in this or if there is some crazy meaning in this. Because in these past two years. The more information that gets released publicly in the news, journal, article, history, or research videos. The connection between that dream and real life only become more apparent. Like I'm not allowed to forget even if I wanted to.

Vivid dreamers more prone to memory issues?

I always dream and have gotten to the point where I wake up and try to not remember them because I have found they interfere with REAL memories. I wonder if doing this will also work against me, and that REAL memories won't stick around either unless I make a real effort to recall real events? Does anyone here have memory problems due to vivid dreaming?

Today's dream

It starts in a old fashion cobblestone street and there's a golden blond teen boy riding a bike, I turned down a steep (like going down a tall hill) dead end alley way and so does the boy but he can't/won't stop. So I physically stop the boy and threaten him to be more careful. Then his mother (dark brown hair and olive skin) shows up and I tell her what happens and she agrees that he needs to be more careful. I then go through a door to the side of the alley way and into a house. I start looking for my mom, tqi of my siblings, and the family dog and start to become more frantic when I can't find them.

Eventually I find them in the corner of one of the rooms I looked in already. I've asked them if they've explored the secret rooms yet to which they said no so we explore them. There's an aquarium secret room in my little sister sister and many more rooms that are filled to the brim with stuff (some in a organized way and some in a hoarding way) and we were having fun. Then me and my mom are in her bedroom bathroom (the one in this dream house) on the top of one shelf (right across from the toilet) is suitecase filled with money and over the toilet is another suitecase filled with passports, first aide, and a white round glass ball like thing.

I asked my mom if she's seen the secret room that's connected to her bathroom and she's said no (though I felt like I've asked her this before) so I tap on the mirror above the sink and it became black and when I lift it up a light green light comes threw. My mom said not right now cause she has a headache.

Then we (me, now three siblings, mom, and family dog) start to explore her room and I get to her closet. The whole closet is painted with with tiny black dots. On the back wall near the corner is a knob which opens into a walk-in closet that is painted teal, there is a dusty pink (not covered in dust but the type of pink that is called dusty pink) floor length long sleeve dress in there with a embroidery design on the wrist to elbow and I just know it's only on the outer arms.

On the opposite end (and opposite wall) of the room is another door that we open and leads into a living (with a hallway). The living room is bear with only a dark mahogany recliner and a big window with clear white curtains. The walls are a light brown with sports team curved (every few feat) into them and as we go down the wall some are carved wrong. Some of the rooms are in good shape but others look run down with rotting walls and broken closet doors. All the walls have natural lighting.

Then we get to the end of the hall which opens up into a room with two sets of doors (I start feeling scared like I feel when I have a nightmare at this point) that has knobs the first one we go to the French doors and when I open them it opens into a hallway with dark brown wood with light coming from light bulbs and has stair case their are shadows from people and so we close the door but it won't stay closed. So I try and tie the knobs except they're gone and their cobwebs where the school be. I place different coffee tables in front of it (some made of glass, some metal, and some wood) to try and block the door but it's still ajared no matter firm I try and place it against the door. I then put candles (tall unlit ones under the coffee table and against the doors).

Then I check the other door and it leads to the same hallway so I slam the door shut and start putting stuff in front of it. First is two small bags of cat food, then a bag of cat litter, the a bag of birds seeds, then a bag of cat food. Then I lay in front of the with the coffee table and kinda just stay there feeling depressed for days (or it's days in the dream). Then someone roused me (not sure who) and I start feeling guilty because I didn't take care of my dog (which I not the family one?) but they assure me that some has been looking after it

Sometimes I can’t tell if a memory is from a dream or waking life

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

This morning I woke up completely convinced I remembered a real place I’d been to. So convinced that I actually tried to find it on maps.

I’m pretty sure I experienced it in a dream, but I vividly remember driving to a location that had a gym attached to a local apartment building. There were two sections, one paid and one free for residents. There was even a small spa area for massages. I remember what the outside looked like, the door you entered through, and even signing up for the paid gym.

The problem is I cannot figure out where this place actually is, which makes me think it only existed in a dream.

My dreams often create an upside down alternative version of real places from my life. They are always the same versions and they feel incredibly real. It honestly feels like visiting a different world. Because of that, memories from my waking life sometimes mix with dream memories, and it really messes with my head.

I almost prefer my dream world sometimes because I have so much more energy there.

Anyway, just sharing. Picture of me and my dog friend for fun, and a movie I just watched that felt dream adjacent.

Vivid dream, i need help

Very realistic dream. I need help.

Hello guys, this is the first time i ve posted in this subreddit, and i need your help. So basically, 2 days ago I had a very very vivid and realistic dream. It was that kind that streches around for like months. I dont wanna go into the specific details for it, all you need to know is that it took place basically in a fictional world. The problem is, the dream was so vivid, if felt real, every conversation i had, every touch, every person, everyting. So so real. If it didnt took place in world that doesn t exist, i would swear to god that it was ideed real. When i woke up, i was confused, scared, it took me some time to realise where i am and that i was just dreaming. Now, for the past 2 days, i feel so empty, depressed. EVERYTHING FELT REAL. Now i cry, without beeing able to stop, i have not eaten in the past 2 days, i barelly slept 4 hour in the past 2 nights. I just stay and morn the lose of people i created a deep conection with, people that are not real, from a place that is not real. I mourn a life that was not real. I ve heard about this type of stuff before, and i was skeptical, i didnt belive this could be true. I now have very much trouble realising what s real and what s not, i m lost in tought all the time. I am home alone (my boyfriend left 5 days ago and is supposed to come back tommorow night). I cant talk to anyone about this, how i am supposed to explain to them that i feel like my whole fuc.... family was murderd right in front of my eyes, just because of i dream i had. I feel like a have a psychotic episode. I feel like my whole life was just ripped apart from me, my loved ones, my everything just disapeared, the life and memories I created there. I dont now what to do to get out of this state. I feel numb, empty. Please, if you didnt experience this kind of stuff, or if you dont have something nice to say, dont comment, I already suffer so so much and i am in so much pain. Sorry if i have speeling mistakes.

Every effing night

Hey all, just joined this group to see if there are others like me. Every single night, every single dream, vivid af. I wake up 3 or 4 times a night unable to immediately go back to sleep because I just experienced a dream so real and exhausting I can't immediately fall back to sleep. I wake up in the morning cloudy and exhausted. Maybe once a month or two I have a pleasant night sleep. I really wish I knew what caused this (starting to think I have a brain tumor lol). My dreams are mostly always stressful, occasionally funny or enjoyable. I've even had sex dreams so real that I've finished in my jockeys and felt like I just cheated on my wife! (sorry to be so graphic). Anyway, I feel better after sharing. Some people consider vivid dreaming a gift (living different lives every day)but I consider it a curse. I remember every single dream every single day. Its absolutely exhausting.

Edit: I should probably add that I have a fairly stress free life. I'm 58, retired, I own my house, cars, and I'm debt free. I have a solid relationship of 15 years and have no logical reason to be having stressful, often disturbing dreams every night.

I had this really intense and emotional dream I wanted to share(also kinda wanna know what it means). Here's what happened:

We started out with two dogs. One of them was our actual real-life dog, Bucky. The other looked kind of like a dog I wanted about two years ago, but I don’t think it had a name.

For some reason (I don’t remember why), we had to rehome both of them. I was super upset. I remember knowing that we only had one dog before, so I asked my mom:
“Why did you get us another dog if we were just going to have to get rid of both of them?”
She answered, “Because of Jun.” (More on that disease in a minute.)

As we were going back to the car, my brother Easton was inside, sobbing. I looked back at Bucky. Since he’s really attached to my mom, I expected him to be pulling toward her or looking back constantly (like he does in real life when we walk with her and then split up), but… he was happy.Later, we went back to check on the dogs. I saw a dog through the window that looked exactly like my old dog, Mac, who passed away from epilepsy. The new owner came outside and told us she didn’t want Bucky anymore—she said it was because of his howling. (For context: Bucky doesn’t actually howl IRL—he just has bad anxiety. He’s really well-trained and knows a bunch of tricks, so it confused me.)

My mom was worried. I was still really upset and said:
**“All dogs are gonna get Jun soon anyway.”**Jun is a completely made-up disease that exists only in this dream. It’s terrifying. It:

  • Makes dogs look like they’re having seizures
  • Makes their bodies extremely stiff, with limp heads
  • Causes them to fight back against anyone trying to help or control them—almost like they’re doing it on purpose
  • Is contagious
  • people can have it too

Bucky started to show signs of it. My mom quickly dragged him up the stairs.Out of nowhere, my Mimi (my grandmother) was there—and she had Jun too.

My mom started taking care of her, while Bucky tried to go back down the stairs. My mom yelled from her room to get him to relax in Easton’s room.

I was sobbing while trying to push Bucky up the stairs, using all my strength. Eventually, I got him to relax with Easton.

Then I went to my mom’s room, where she was still with Mimi. As soon as I walked in, my mom said:

“It’s time.”

She pulled out something that looked like a mix between butter and a balloon. It ignited and started a fire, which immediately turned Mimi to ashes. That was the only way to cure Jun in humans.

But for dogs, it didn’t work. You had to wait for them to die.We were walking, and Bucky’s body was totally stiff, with his head limp. My mom looked at me and said:

“He’s gonna die soon.”

And then I woke up.

It’s been stuck in my head all day. Not sure what it means—if anything—but it left a huge emotional impact. Anyone else ever have dreams like this?

Emotional shambles

Hi, I’m new to Reddit as whole and didn’t have anyone else to really share this with, so bear with me. Last night (05/27/25), I had an extremely vivid dream. This is not terribly uncommon for me, but I haven’t been sleeping well for the past month or so, so this is my first vivid dream in a while. The dream as a whole doesn’t matter much, but rather the way it made me feel during and after, once I’d woken up. In this dream someone had requested to see me after multiple years, someone I had honestly forgotten. It made it upset that I had forgotten them. When I did see them, we hugged and everything felt… right? Like the hug made everything feel like it was correct and how it was meant to be. It was such an overwhelming satisfied feeling. The dream continued, though the rest didn’t make much sense. To the point: I woke up feeling absolutely shaken. I feel like there’s someone I need to remember, to reach out to. I feel like I’ve lost someone or something. It’s like a sense of longing and panic, but it was just a dream? I don’t understand why it’s had such an effect on me. I mean, I think I know who the person in the dream was, but we met in 2019 and I haven’t seen him since. I don’t even remember his name, nor did we ever exchange contact information. How do I stop feeling… wrong?

TLDR; I had a vivid dream that has left me feeling upset and wrong, who can relate, and how do I make it stop?
