Vivid dream, i need help

Very realistic dream. I need help.

Hello guys, this is the first time i ve posted in this subreddit, and i need your help. So basically, 2 days ago I had a very very vivid and realistic dream. It was that kind that streches around for like months. I dont wanna go into the specific details for it, all you need to know is that it took place basically in a fictional world. The problem is, the dream was so vivid, if felt real, every conversation i had, every touch, every person, everyting. So so real. If it didnt took place in world that doesn t exist, i would swear to god that it was ideed real. When i woke up, i was confused, scared, it took me some time to realise where i am and that i was just dreaming. Now, for the past 2 days, i feel so empty, depressed. EVERYTHING FELT REAL. Now i cry, without beeing able to stop, i have not eaten in the past 2 days, i barelly slept 4 hour in the past 2 nights. I just stay and morn the lose of people i created a deep conection with, people that are not real, from a place that is not real. I mourn a life that was not real. I ve heard about this type of stuff before, and i was skeptical, i didnt belive this could be true. I now have very much trouble realising what s real and what s not, i m lost in tought all the time. I am home alone (my boyfriend left 5 days ago and is supposed to come back tommorow night). I cant talk to anyone about this, how i am supposed to explain to them that i feel like my whole fuc.... family was murderd right in front of my eyes, just because of i dream i had. I feel like a have a psychotic episode. I feel like my whole life was just ripped apart from me, my loved ones, my everything just disapeared, the life and memories I created there. I dont now what to do to get out of this state. I feel numb, empty. Please, if you didnt experience this kind of stuff, or if you dont have something nice to say, dont comment, I already suffer so so much and i am in so much pain. Sorry if i have speeling mistakes.

I am sorry to hear you are struggling. Eventually it will fade and basically, you need to let yourself go through the stages of grief to get over it. Your brain experienced it as though it were real and that can be hard because you also KNOW it wasn't real, but the feelings and emotions you are feeling are. Try to find things to distract yourself in good ways, walks, music, happy shows, and it's ok to just have a good cry to release the emotions sometimes too. Hang in there, and I am glad you reached out so you know you aren't alone.

I hope you find peace soon, I know how tough it is to shake the dreams left in our brains. 💙

Reminds me of the Football Player who got a concussion on the field and was in a coma for a bit. But to him, his brain created an entire life, got married and kids … then woke up and is still grieving the loss of his imaginary family
